Valley Single handle..upon review I might have to say Delta. The cart might be fine, you might only need to replace the springs and seats that are important. Also use silicone lube on them if you can, will last longer. The kind that is for faucets not silicone window caulking that dries.

Hey thank you for the reply, the screw was hidden and could only be accessed with the water handle turned on. I've taken a photo to show you in what position the screw became visable (in case someone else has a similar issue in the future!).

This is the cartridge I am replacing it with.

When the new cartridge arrives, how can I disable the water? I know where it is located, but I don't have the brains to turn it off.

Thanks again!

It's a Mixet sure enough. Looks like aftermarket is the only source for parts. If the decision is made to keep it, I wouldn't place much confidence in going to a DIY megastore for parts or expertise.

However, I found a number of Mixet wannabe parts on Amazon

Thanks. I fixed it today. I went to the local hardware shop, instead of Lowes, and I found one that fit.

It fit perfectly, and now no leaks.

Looking around online a bit more--this one is the exact same one I pulled out:

What I'm thinking is that the original shower was probable some off-brand in the first place, and that's why the Moen part didn't fit.

That is a Moen, you need a special tool to remove the nut holding the cartridge in place.

The cartridge is part No. 1224, it can be a pain in the ass so take your time and don't slip off that nut.
