You can do better than the Folkmaster. Most of Suzuki's product line is solid to excellent, but the Folkmaster is near the bottom end.

If you're looking at price, something better in that price range would be an East Top T008K, which you can find in various keys on Amazon for $11.99. For instance:

option 1: pixie dust.
option 2: you sacrifice a goat to u/sooprvylyn while playing the sheng instrument
option 3: a lasercutter. im actually serious. laser- or waterjet cutters should be able to not harm the indigo while fuckign up your jeans. Cost: about that of a pair of jeans per hour.
___
now serious:
you want something that doesen't attack the indigo but the cotton? That will be difficult. My best guess is to use a scalpell and lots of patience. and sandpaper, and here's a link to buy your sheng

Chromatic harmonicas tend to be much more expensive than diatonic harmonicas. The Swan 1040 is the absolute bottom of the range when it comes to chromatics, but from what I've heard from a few youtube videos, it doesn't sound too bad. considering that it's only 30$ (not including shipping)

CLD Brands Legend of Zelda Handcrafted and Tuned Ocarina 12-Hole Ceramic Flute with Player's Guide https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YM11CWS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ytOTAbFKHJPRT

I ordered this one. It looks the same

This was my first ocarina. It was surprisingly in tune for being a cheap ocarina and by far the easiest ocarina in my collection to play. I own ocarinas from Songbird, Focalink, STL Ocarina, EthnoSiberia, OcarinaCaro, Kinfolk Ceramics, Luna Celta and Alcorn.

It made sense for me to start with a 12-hole since I've been playing flute since I was 7 years old.

Here's an ocarina with songbook on Amazon: Deekec Legend of Zelda Ocarina 12 Hole Alto C with Song Book (Songs From the Legend of Zelda) Display Stand Protective Bag https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076DX5PBY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_hozgDbRP68W72

I wouldn't really recommend starting out with a soprano C anyway, unless you were desperate to spend less money. Here is the alto version from Amazon. I'm not sure if that will help you out.

Osawa Alto C ocarina

With a little looking you could find the soprano one on Amazon as well.

Amazon also has the Night by Noble

Night by Noble

You can also buy the Focalink/Stein ocarinas from Songbird Ocarina if that will help with shipping.

The single chamber plastic ocarinas from STL Ocarina are also some of the cheapest decent twelve hole ocarinas you can get.

I don't know how shipping from these various US ocarina stores will work out for you.

That's perfect man... $22 with shipping from Amazon... thanks for that tip!

Well in India we call the first one a bansuri and the second one a bean.

I found an amazon link

Is this what I should get? Its only $20.

Couldn't find a more expensive Kongsheng on amazon and there aren't any at all on sweetwater.

I've never heard of any 12 hole ocarina apps. Your best option really is to buy a Mr. Mute set.

Or just do what I do and find an outdoor spot to practice.

u/PlasmaChemist · 1 pointr/whatisthisthing

Looks like one of these

I've looked at that Seydel case before. I've heard varying things about it- specifically that it was difficult to access harps quickly during a gig.

It does look nice for $80. I might give it a shot. Essentially I just need it to hold 13 Special 20's, a Super 64, a Bulletini and cable. Looks like it will do the job.

That one also looks interesting. I don't know if it will fit both a chromatic and the mic+cable.

I actually got that same one as my first ocarina as well. It's… Not the best. It's a good replica, don't get me wrong, but it definitely isn't meant to be seriously played.

This is the one I have right now.

It sounds pretty great, and won't break the bank. I've been playing on this one for about two years and I'm only just now considering upgrading to a nicer one. I'd definitely recommend it.

Edit: If you really want a Zelda ocarina that also plays well, I've heard good things about STL Ocarina.
I've never personally bought anything from them, so I can't tell you with 100% certainty if they're good, but I'm heavily considering them for the next one I get.

I bought one when my high school band was visiting Toronto in the early 80s. It looked similar to this

u/Ih8phonies · 1 pointr/zelda

Thank you! Although I've already bought and have been practicing the OoT Kokiri edition (plastic 6(7) hole), I want to get a ceramic 12 hole soon. I was actually looking at the company OcarinaWind since they are affordable and seem to have good reviews like this one https://www.amazon.com/Ocarina-Burning-Technology-Performance-OcarinaWind/dp/B01AFU3AGK/ref=sr_1_18?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1498249510&sr=1-18&keywords=ceramic+ocarina+12+hole. Do you have any experience with them? I will definitely keep you in mind if I have any more questions!

u/Whaccount · 0 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I think you might like this ocarina. Because something musical can always come in handy.
