Looks like a rolling garlic press.
Edit: example.
Garlic grinder. Dishwasher safe, easy to use, easy to clean, damn near indestructible. I highly recommend it.
To be fair if my garlic press had compatibility issues with new strains of garlic I'd be fucking pissed.
Bro! Dude! Garlic press? That’s for chumps. Wastes so much of the tastiness. A garlic twist is basically a twist “grinder” to quickly mince garlic. non affiliate amazon link
And then get one of these to chop it.
Hey you.
First, happy birthday. You deserve all the smiles today.
Laugh you!
Watch this person get mad at qwop.
Garlic press I would love.
Hope things turn around. :)
Have you tried a garlic peeler? It’s a silicone tube and you roll the garlic around in it. Like this one:

So yeah, I use one of those. THAT my friend, was the game-changer for me. No more chunks of garlic
Dude. Buy a garlic press. You don't need to peel the cloves.
JSDOIN Garlic Press Garlic Peeler Set Stainless Steel NEW DESIGN - Professional Grade, Dishwasher safe- Easy to Clean https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DNBX1C4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0YOkDb0HPFKXE
Bad formatting because I'm on mobile, but something like this. I use fresh garlic almost every time I cook because I bought one of these. Press a couple of cloves at a time (depending on their size), open the press and pull out the skin before moving onto the next clove or two. Quick and easy.
Never mind me, I'm just finding out that people actually does use dry peeled garlic for cooking. It doesn't taste even half as good, plus fresh garlic is cheap as dirt (cheaper than the peeled one for sure) and propperly stored can last you a looong time. If tou still feel that peeling it is a chore just get one of these, you get a perfectly peeled clove in a few seconds.
Non-mobile: garlic press
^That's ^why ^I'm ^here, ^I ^don't ^judge ^you. ^PM ^/u/xl0 ^if ^I'm ^causing ^any ^trouble. ^WUT?
I have one small rubber roll (it came free with Garlic press). You just put garlic in it and roll it on the kitchen platform and it is peeled super easily. I am in US so I got it from amazon here but you can check aliexpress etc and it may have it. Here is the link..

The jar isn't meant for just storage, but for roasting your garlic.
I keep my garlic in a terracotta holder like this. I got mine at TJMaxx or Marshalls for just a couple of dollars. Terracotta keeps it dry and in a dark place which will keep it from sprouting for a longer period of time.
This is the one I use and it is awesome
I was with you right up until > For speed, I'll cheat and use garlic from a jar (I fucking hate peeling and mincing garlic)
Fresh garlic is so good (plus a lot of jarred garlic is bleached and in all sorts of weird crap)
Get these tools and you can do a whole clove quickly.
peeler
press
I had a garlic press that was difficult to clean, but we got a new one and it's a lot easier! [This is the one we have](https://smile.amazon.com/Calphalon-Gadgets-Garlic-Peel-Press/dp/B000SDQNZK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493753900&sr=8- 1&keywords=garlic+press+calphalon). We got it as a gift, and now, after seeing the listing, it looks like you can just stick the whole clove in there with the skin on and everything. Ah well! haha!
There is this little rubber roll thing you can put cloves into and roll them in it and it peels takes off the outer layers really quick. This one is from Amazon but you can find them a lot of places.https://www.amazon.com/Maxracy-Silicone-Garlic-Odorfree-Kitchen/dp/B07GFJPXNB/ref=zg_bs_678517011_2?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=NYDY5Q0P6QZKX1BKKTXE
A garlic wheel has changed my prep game. Depending on how much you roll it you can control the size of the pieces.

Theres a cool little kitchen gadget called the garlic press. It turns your garlic into small pieces so you dont have to take the time cutting it and risking getting your hands stinky. You just put a whole garlic in there and squeeze it and small pieces come out.

These are nice. Just have to be sure to cut the garlic in half.
I use a garlic twister.

It's awesome! No waste. Easily handles 3-4 cloves in seconds.
Maybe a garlic peeler?
This is definitely on my list. If you cook a lot, especially with garlic, is damn near a necessity.
I don't know what kind of jar you've got, but since you didn't include a picture I just wanted to chime in that it's perfectly possible that you are correct and you have a storage jar and not a cooking jar. For example, this is the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/MSC-International-Terracotta-Garlic-Keeper/dp/B00380E6U4/
This seems kind of gimmicky (and expensive! I remember getting it on amazon for about half the price), but it's excellent for mincing garlic. You just peel, throw your cloves in there, "drive it" for about 20 seconds, BOOM, perfectly minced garlic. It's super easy to clean too, just a quick rinse.
The garlic car!

If that is too much money, this press from Trudeau was runner up for best buy, and costs about $16
