Buy yourself a country club elite real feel strip and cut out a section of your current mat for it. It will help your wrists a lot. Just need to check the height of your current mat and the strip to make sure they match.

This is what I have. It's not hard rubber. It's like bushy astroturf. It has a ton of give so if you hit fat you can tell and it's a lot easier on your joints: http://www.amazon.com/36-Super-Tee-Golf-Mat/dp/B007XW6264/ref=zg_bs_3411351_14.

FYI: I got a 4' x 15' strip of putting turf from Pro Putt Systems ( Other sizes are available ), and it is fantastic. I use it on the floor by itself, and it will receive short chips and pitches right out of the box with no platform needed. I can roll it up and put it away if I need to, which is a bonus. I did not cut holes in it; I just use a little Maxfli cup I got at Dick's for under $20. I was afraid a permanent hole would develop a groove, but after having the turf for two years, I would say that you can cut a hole if you want, but I like the variety of moving it around. IMO, artificial breaks are not very realistic, the ball will not stay in place if there is an incline, and the breaks are Augusta + fast. Almost every floor ( especially a basement floor) will have some degree of break, and that's all you need. Big breaks are like playing Putt-Putt. / .02 cents

EDIT: I have a CCE mat that I chip from. https://www.amazon.com/Real-Feel-Golf-Mats-Original/dp/B076DGNCGG
The only break I might try would be a 2nd tier slope, where the break is straight uphill.

I bought a Ruk Net this past winter and so far am loving it. I have it set up in my basement. I did quite a bit of research and unless you are willing to spend $500+, the Ruk is the best out there IMO.

Both the PuttOut target hole, and the accompanying mat are PHENOMENAL! The hole is the only thing you need if you have decent carpet, but the mat is too good not to get as well. It's the thickest mat I've found for under $100, and it's designed to help you practice without getting bored. I honestly haven't found anything that comes close in terms of performance or value.

My favorite drill (that I do at least 2-3 each day) is to start at the 6 foot mark, make a "perfect putt" (where you get the ball to stop on the ramp), move to 5 feet, make another, and so on till I get I've made six. The most "perfect" putts I've made in a row is four, but one day I'll make all six (seriously, it's NOT easy).

Funny you should mention. I just got this one in the mail this week in the 10' x 25' for about $23. Gonna set it up in the backyard soon so have not used it yet though so can't really say how good or bad it will work, but it seems like it will do the job fine. But then again, I'm just going to be using it behind my practice basket, not for driving. Luckily I have a YMCA soccer field area a few blocks away for that .

Edit: I will add, if you do get one for driving practice, get as big as one as you can afford. We had a speed gun with a net between trees at an event last year and a few people did shank them since they were trying to throw as hard as they could and with the net size what it was....away they went.

I have this in my back yard. Basic idea is that I have two metal gardening stakes that are stuck in the ground for stability. Then I cut apart some 1/2" PVC pipe and bought some connectors to hook them together. I use a bag of zip ties to secure the net to the frame. Works great. I almost exclusively hit iron shots. Most swings are not at full power. But so far the durability has been great. This is my net.

The mat is a $150 B grade mat from eBay. I believe it was used at an outdoor driving range before. Works great. I'm outside with dirt underneath, so I have no issues with injury due to concrete.

Would recommend. I primarily use it to work on swing changes and mechanics with video recording. I love that I can hit balls at 11 p.m. or sometimes when I go home for lunch for just 15 minutes. Would recommend.

The answer to your question is out there. Only, we cannot answer since we don't know your flaws. The best thing to do is get a single lesson from a pro, ask him to give you some drill and even ask him what training aids would be beneficial for you. He even might use some training aid during the lesson.

THIS. When I put it on and start swinging with it my swing is much more compact and my ball striking improves drastically.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/golf

And the blister only occurs on the ring finger of your non-gloved hand? My immediate inference is that you're trying to utilize too much right hand in order to obtain the rotation of the club head on the downswing. Instead consider the back of the left hand(if you're a righty) to be the club face. Think of it as though you're bringing the back of your left hand back to square at impact with more of a "pull" than a "push". It's a slight muscular difference that might alleviate your blistering. I recommend obtaining an impact bag to try and get a feel for this. If you're "pushing" into the ball with your right arm (given that you're a righty) you will feel more tension on your right side rather than your left when you "pull" into the shot with good hip rotation.

Not knowing your budget, here are a few golf related gifts. Personalized golf balls, good ones (http://www.titleist.com/my-pro-v1) $60ish.

I have earlier versions of both the range finder and golf simulator and love them. Then again, I live in New England so snow keeps us off the course for a few months each year.

That's just one of the various PS3 Move Golf attachments. There's also the SKLZ Golf Simstix (which was posted by another user).

Haha, I love that you actually want more info on the net... SKLZ Quickster 6'x6' Golf Net with Target https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007SC1A0M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_HRixxb2YTSC3S that's what I use for golf/snakes. No complaints here.

u/heavySeals · 2 pointsr/golf

I have this in the 6'x6' size. Works well, assembles quickly and can be broken down in just a couple minutes and includes a bag to store it in. I'd be careful using real balls on a roof top as from what I understand, almost any net with eventually get a hole in it. I use almost golf balls and use the net pretty much exclusively in my basement and haven't had any issues. Been hitting into it almost daily for about 5-6 months or so.

The best way I found to fight it is to carry a phone mount accessory with me every round. Have a bad drive? Next tee shot I record my swing and double check my mechanics.

I have the SKLZ putting matt, it's pretty sick.

http://www.amazon.com/SKLZ-VBP01-000-01-Vari-Break-Putting-Course/dp/B003D6FFU8

you can change the breaks in it, it's kind of expensive but worth it if you're committed to putting every night.

u/psycos · 1 pointr/golf

Yes! I use this thing called "Blast Golf Replay" that eliminates the need for the remote shutter. Plus it measures swing speed and tempo, among other things. Very very cool, and with newer smart phones and 240 FPS recording, it's GREAT for seeing swing faults.

u/SpartyArmst · 1 pointr/golf

For those of us who are in the colder states (or countries), Amazon has OptiShot 2 on Lightning Deals for $239.99.

u/rvncto · 1 pointr/PSVR

this guy is being oddly stubborn. Let me tell you as someone who actually has played a golf game with a move controller. IT IS THE BEST! i played tiger woods on the ps3 using a move and the eye toy and the Best accesory ever. The move sat at the bottom of the simstik , the weight was perfect, you could really do a proper swing. I could slice and draw at will. I still have that simstik, and im just itching for a chance to use it on a VR golf game.

i thought surely there would be at least a flat ps4 golf game using the move, but a las not.

Rukket pop-up is the correct option for grab-n-go. Easy to store and put up/down. https://www.amazon.com/Rukket-Orginal-Practice-Backyard-Training/dp/B0087AM3EQ

For a mat, I have a CCE (Country Club Elite) 3′ x 5'. Wouldn't go any smaller than that if you want a comfortable driver stance. Some people say these hurt your wrists if you swing down too violently but I haven't noticed. The popular recommendation if that is the case is "Fiberbuilt". I don't know anything about those though and I like my CCE.
