You're right, why would people go for the expensive $300 KitchenAid Mixer, when they could get the equivalent super-inexpensive $2100+ Hobart Mixer? It's obviously all advertising.
[A stand mixer] (http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-SM-55BC-2-Quart-12-Speed-Brushed/dp/B000MTIUSS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1JHHRW4DKFTWD&coliid=I2FHV5TWN52KH6) is the first thing I thought of. I know its a little out of your price range but maybe you can find it on sale at some point (if you have some time to wait) or slightly up what you're willing to spend.
So I have a crap ton of items spread around several different lists, so there are practically infinite combinations to add up to $75. I am so excited just to have been able to participate - anything is amazing!! Some possible ideas:
ETA I really want the bracelet, book, and something for kiddo if possible.
According to America's Test Kitchen who I really trust for kitchen product reviews, both the KitchenAid (which I know you said you didn't want) and the Cuisinart are best in class.
Here's the one they showed on the show on Amazon, which is probably the cheapest I've seen.
This kitchenaid is my most expensive and most wanted item.
I want it cause I've used my grandma's and its seriously the greatest thing I have ever used. Also cause I mix everything I bake right now with a fork.
No!! Haha someday in the future, probably when I get my own place, I am definitely splurging on it.
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
I have a Bosch my granddaughter gave me 5 or so yrs ago. It's great, but I seldom use it any more. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-MUM4405-Compact-Tilt-Head-Pouring/dp/B0001NNLH0/ref=sr_1_45?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1503870291&sr=1-45#customerReviews
I was lucky enough to go to my hometown for Christmas to spend it with my family. I'm from a small town in Montana, and my parent's home is up in the mountains. It was quiet, the snow was gorgeous, and there was plenty of space between neighbors so I felt like I had some privacy (unlike my current living circumstances in an apartment in the city). And my whole family is introverted home bodies, so Christmas was spent consuming far too much food and watching movies and playing video games on our computers. It was fantastic.
Of my gifts, my favorites were a Tangle Teezer from my husband which is basically the best brush I've ever had the pleasure of using. A puzzle of a Japanese garden scene from my parents because I ADORE puzzles. And my MIL gave me a really fancy sewing machine that I would use if I had the space, but since I don't I'm going to exchange it for a KitchenAid because then I can make ALL THE GOODIES 8D (my husband's family is well off so they can afford to give out expensive gifts x.x)
I have one of these but mine is a 90s model. I inherited it from my mother when I moved out (she upgraded to a newer model and this one still works so it's still seeing use to this day). It gets me soft or stiff peaks when beating egg whites - something I do for waffles :D
Maybe I could go ahead and make a full recipe because, just by myself, I can go through a pint or a quart pretty quickly! I guess I was thinking of all the other times I make things for myself that I don't finish in time. Eggnog seems to be the exception here!
I personally hate the glass bowls.

I bought this refurbished on Amazon. Love it. Make dough all the time.
I use this one and it works perfect, only $30! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004X134/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7GX9BbGVKTV09

Sure thing! Sorry it took me a while, I had to look up my receipts and such 😊

I originally got the Hamilton Beech Hand Mixer , but it broke the first time I used it so I do NOT recommend. I got it for $15.30, but I reasoned that a KitchenAid lasts a lifetime.
Note: You don't need couples or tips if you use tipless bags, which is actually what I'm doing right now
So all together that is $423.47 + a little tax
It's a small sized grinder, with a more powerful motor, capable of grinding spices (including harder ones like cinnamon or turmeric), and chutneys in smaller quantities. Think of it as a heavy duty coffee grinder.

A baking mat
A super nice Williams and Sonoma skillet with a lid
I'm super excited to try everything out!!
I got rid of my fancy looking Kitchen Aid and got a Cuisinart SM55 mixer. I've had it for six years, made bread, pizza dough, cakes, etc and never had one problem with it other than it is quite loud.
There is a heavy duty mixer that costs more, but I'm happy with the one I have. It came with good attachments and a splash guard. Very easy to use.
I got a gift card...
>A stand mixer: http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-KSM150PSCU-Artisan-Pouring-Shield/dp/B004GUVD6K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451170611&sr=8-1&keywords=kitchENaid+stainless+steel+mixer
I know what I'm going to use it for now...
And the grinder attachment.
I keep hearing people brag about how their lives changed after buying one, so I think you're going to pick up one of these bad boys!

Thanks for the contest! And enjoy your new stand mixer ;) haha
This aviary is ridiculously expensive. Not gonna get it ever, but maybe I'll have one built when I get a grown up job!
The most expensive thing that I actually want right now is this kitchenaid mixer! It's so cute and purple! And I could make so much stuff!
Oh neat! Seems fun. Fear cuts deeper than swords.
BONUS
Anything that has my real name on it.I don't know your real name, sadly. ): Maybe someday!Any of the things I have noted being on Private lists
I would be happy to send you the link to for proofcan be seen here. :) Also your wishlist names made me chuckle. :DAlso also Happy Birthday to my dad! <3
Top three most expensive for me are the PS4, KitchenAid, and the Kindle Paperwhite. I'm still deciding which DSLR I want to pick up and I'm talking to the photographers I work with to make a decision.
Oh. Hey. I can add something here-
The commercial ones are great, but expensive, and like someone mentioned here, the Kitchenaids just aren't what they used to be.
I present to you, a decent option at ~$250. The Cuisinart SM-55. It's got a lot of nice features (timer!), can do some extra useful things like more expensive ones (meat grinder!), and is pretty durable.
Happy with mine, no complaints.
http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-SM-55-2-Quart-12-Speed-Stand/dp/B000ON4B3U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1323916034&sr=8-2
Many of the reports online, specifically Amazon reviews and the old Yahoo Mixer-Owners lists of them breaking under any sort of load. Especially any bread dough, or some of the attachments.
I kind of feel like if you aren't going to use a meat grinder, or make bread dough, then why pay KitchenAid prices? You can probably do fine making cakes and batters with a handheld mixer for $30 or a SunBeam stand mixer for $90 or so (https://www.amazon.com/Sunbeam-2371-MixMaster-Stand-Mixer/dp/B000COC69C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1510456961&sr=8-1&keywords=sunbeam+stand+mixer) . My mom sure did for years and years.
Now, for $200 you are at the extreme low end price for a lower end KitchenAid (the 500 series). But you can step up IMO to a much better mixer for that money - the Bosch Compact ( https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-MUM4405-Compact-Tilt-Head-Pouring/dp/B0001NNLH0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1510457026&sr=8-3&keywords=Bosch+Compact ).
The reason I think they're better is again the reviews, but also a couple key differences. You've got a reputation for handling heavier tasks without issues and current generation is still known for lasting a long time. The spash guard is better designed IMO because it fully covers the bowl, so you don't "pouf" flour out when you start it up. It's lighter and easier to put away when not in use to clear counter space.
I think KitchenAid mixers look real nice, but I don't think they make any sense financially unless you're buying it as set dressing (i.e. for looks only).
I see a kitchenaid one on sale for $35 on amazon:
kitchenaid
Otherwise, if you're looking for something cheaper, it may not hold up as long or be as good quality, but unless you're using it extremely frequently, a cheap hand mixer like black+decker would work just fine as well and you can get it for $14 on amazon:
black+decker
I bake a lot and tend to be cheap when it comes to hand mixers, and even cheap $15 mixers have lasted at least a few years each for me.
When I did a search on Amazon, I found only one picture in which the yellow citrus looked green. this one. However, I also found this picture and this picture. The buttercup mixer does look orange everywhere I look though. IMO, kitchenaid is just bad at taking pictures of their products that really catches the color of it. I think your best bet is the yellow citrus :)
Weird, view this in the morning...

... now, 2 hours later, Amazon has one on sale.

Fancy kitchenaid mixer I want this so bad! But I just can't bring myself to actually buy it.
1 Okay, I love this, but I think you should wear a men's button downwith a tie and glasses and knee highs over it. So , like come out in the button down and knee highs and tights and then unbutton it, because that's really sexy!
2.I lovethese! in the BW color
3Weird....I did this part, but it got removed? Here are the ones I had on here. NIN- Closer Kia, my neck my back and kid rock so hott!
4.Mine would be alexandra because i think it sounds kind of classy(like i would like my lingerie to look like im a "rich stay at home wife", but it still could sound dirty and ppl could call me alex for short.
5 I would definitely buy this if I made that much money in 1 night...wow, that is AWESOME! ( i hope you hit that one night soon!, we should have a raoa meetup there and it will def. happen lol!)
http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-2-Quart-Ultra-Power-Empire/dp/B000UVRC64/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1318976963&sr=8-6
The Cuisinart stand mixer I bought for my girlfriend has worked great for everything she's tried. It also has over one horsepower so it doesn't need the plastic gears to save the motor from failing if it mixes something tough. It has a five year warranty on the motor and three for the entire mixer.
No soup for you! Come back one year! Unless you have a beautiful filet cooked medium rare with a side of garlic mash and glazed carrots. /u/KiltedRabbit ! You need to hang out here more often!!!
This is a kitchen gadget that I will own someday. <3
The small hand mixer copied the hand cranked "egg beater" design. The meshing blades compensate for low torque and help move product through the bowl.
Large stand mixers compare better to hand tools. The implement (whisk, dough hook or paddle) moves around the bowl much more like one uses equivalent manual tools.
A Kitchenaid Stand Mixer! As a baking enthusiast, I feel that having this beautiful appliance would help me expand my baking repertoire. Not to mention, green is my favourite colour and I can't help but envision my dream kitchen with this mixer contrasting my green utensils, haha. It sounds a bit dorkier than I intended, but alas! ;D
This is pretty much like the one I have now. I got it from my sister-in-law after she got an upgraded one. I love it! I'm even thinking of getting a vinyl decal for it.
Me too! I registered for the Raspberry Ice one. I didn't think I'd register for anything pink I'm not really that girl. But it's such a pretty color. FH won't go near a mixer in his lifetime so it's cool haha
I truly, truly think that with the approaching cold weather you absolutely MUST have this. Plus I have the same one on my wishlist!
Think of all the homemade goodies you could make! Delightful dough, buttery biscuits, perfect pie! I've always wanted a KitchenAid mixer, ever since I started helping my mom bake when I was a kid. It is just one of those 'hoop dream' items for me. It's so hard to justify spending that much on yourself sometimes, but you should totally do it! Plus that color is amazing!!! I love everything aqua right now. It is so cheery and fun.
If I could pick anything in the world off my WL right now for MYSELF, I would pick the copper mule mugs (on my $10-$20 list). I've always enjoyed having moscow mules, but would love to do them properly when we have guests over. It just seems like such a fun drink. Sit outside on the patio, watching the sunset, drinking an awesome drink out of an awesome mug! Refreshing! :)
Thanks so much for the contest and go 'head and treat yo self!
Batman Suit !!!
Buy one of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004X134/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_MIYBCbXXRAP5H
I stick it on a shelf in my bar (but in a closet, cabinet, etc. would work). This is the baby version of the big rigs every Tiki bar worth a snot has. It's a milkshake machine to most, but this is what you whip up Tiki drinks with. Froths it and all. A huge chunk of the recipes in the Smuggler's Cove book will say "flash blend". This is the tool to do it.
Actually after all of this thinking, i might go with this:
https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-MUM4405-Compact-Tilt-Head-Pouring/dp/B0001NNLH0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1543607736&sr=8-1&keywords=mum4405
A bit cheaper but apparently a lot better for dough.
Omega also makes commercial kitchen grade blenders that are similar spec to the Vitamix (3hp motor). But they will often sell for half the price ($220-$250 instead of $450-$500), and are frequently on sale.
Another cheaper option is to get an Indian brand "mixer grinder". The mixer grinder is a workhorse in an Indian kitchen, along with a pressure cooker, because of the daily need to grind lots of stuff for meals (chutneys, curry powders, curry pastes, dry spice grinding etc).
They are not 3hp motors but 1hp but are very well built and reliable and in most cases, a 1hp or 700W motor is enough and gets the work done. But they cost $100, which is significantly cheaper than the commercial grade blenders. And with every day use (literally), most will last for years in a home kitchen. Here are some options:
I use the cheapest one. Helps that I prefer white appliances! Carpe Drink'um!
Hamilton Beach 727B Classic DrinkMaster Drink Mixer, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004X134/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_XOyyxbVMJWZN4
Look on Amazon/your favorite online retailer for refurbished KitchenAids. I got a Pro 600 for only $200.
Kitchenaid Professional 600 Stand Mixer 6 quart, Empire Red (Certified Refurbished) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007W2ED70/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_zy-8BbHJYXB6K
Maybe this will suit your needs.
http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Plus-Mixer-and-Blender/dp/B00JJ9I5CI
Wrong tool. That's an immersion blender. It's for making smoothies and soup. Only the advertising mooks think you can use it to beat egg whites.
Like this. Two ejectable beaters. You can spend $20 and get a nice one, or you can spend $6 and get an adequate one.
Buy bananas. Ones you don't eat stick in the freezer unpeeled. The skins will turn black which doesn't hurt the actual banana. When you get a few make banana bread. It's super easy. Only special tool you need is an electric hand mixer. Cheapest I found on Amazon and probably the last one you will ever buy if you hold on to things. Had mine for twenty years.
https://www.amazon.com/BLACK-DECKER-Lightweight-Mixer-MX1500W/dp/B000FIOU76/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?keywords=electric+hand+mixer&qid=1567461231&s=gateway&sprefix=electric+ha&sr=8-8
Edit: you will need a bread/meatloaf loaf pan. Pyrex is best. You can get those cheap also. The things pay for themselves. Next week tune in for my 5 minute hummus.
