They have products made specifically for shower doors and bathroom mirrors.

Edit: On further reading, it seems like they're all the same product just with a different label on them. Keep that in mind if you find the windshield version for cheaper.

The effectiveness of Rain-X on your shower glass also seems to vary based on what's in your local tap water and how well/often you do the application, based on what I'm reading from Amazon reviews.

Most people in the Amazon reviews seem to suggest that you need to reapply it about every 2-3 weeks for it to work properly. It also has a strong chemical smell while applying that goes away after it's set on the glass.

Lastly, some people were saying it can possibly be a nightmare/impossible to take off your glass if something goes wrong with the application.

It works, but is not permanent. You have to reapply it. Also, there are fumes. Some folks find them choking in a closed environment. But it is better than nothing:

Keep the squeegee. It is the best way to keep the spots at bay.

Still, as I stated, I used CLR, compound, vinegar and this cerium oxide has been the onlty thing that worked.
