I’d stick with the French press and pick up one of those off-brand Porlex hand grinders. I haven’t tried their coffee personally, but Happy Mug is suggested a lot on this sub as a good value option.

I have this one.

A quick Google of "manual coffee grinder, camping" will give you a few different options.

I would recommend this. It has stainless steel burrs and copper gaskets.

Could you get her good coffee-making equipment? An aero press is $30 and a hario v60 is about $20. Actually hario has a hand grinder that’s pretty cheap too. Throw in a bag of beans from your favorite toaster if you have any surplus.

Edit to add link and update price. My bf loves the v60, might be good!

Edit 2: it looks like it looks like the grinder is $40? which blows my mind. I swear it was cheaper

I just recently bought this knockoff blind tumbler off Amazon on sale for $18.99

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RRQ53YQ/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_6KS2DbCW0SNBY

I started grinding directly into it, and so far results have been really good. Any static disappears once I place the tumbler on the PF. Has anyone tried this knockoff tumbler? Has anyone tried grinding directly into a blind tumbler with the NZ? If so, what was your experience with this combo?

That's possible with a small tube or bean funnel, additional stepper/360 degree modified servo (there'd be a torque requirement to turn the grinder), small belt and a grinder like that.. May need an additional gizmo printed to get the belt to spin the grinder, or possibly remove the handle and directly drive it if space permits.

>Breakfast and lunch are super important (coffee is a runner up). You don't realize it till you go without. Then it hits you.

Yupper

For lunch...

Make a big batch of that and freeze the leftovers.

These are all great too.

Nutritious and most freeze well.

For breakfast, always have spare cooked rice in a baggie in the fridge, eggs, tortillas, condiments, cheese, etc... so you can just throw stuff together. My favorite:

This is my grinder.

It's the details that count, decent quality stuff that just gets the job done.

Grind up your shit as much as possible, saute at a low temperature in butter/Earth Balance/whatever for about 45 minutes, put it in a dish in the fridge to cool until it's solid again (preferably overnight), then use it like regular butter in whatever. You can even spread it as is on stuff. I've heard enough people say that the plant matter that's left after sauteing is thc-free, but if you grind it up fine enough you can leave it in without noticing it if you really want to be sure you're getting the most bang for your buck. I don't mean using one of those punk-ass little hand things that a lot of people use for weed, I mean using an electric coffee grinder like this guy. I got mine at a thrift store for around $3. Put the stems and seeds in there too; it'll take care of them.

Another inexpensive investment you can make is a cheap blade grinder. There is a huge difference in coffee quality if you grind the beans fresh. A nice burr grinder would be preferable, but they are much more of a financial investment. If you do have a financial windfall and get said burr grinder, your blade grinder could become a spice grinder. You've got to start somewhere and I think an aeropress, milk frother and a cheap blade grinder is a wonderful starting point. Cheers.
