  • Small glass prep bowls for games with lots of small pieces, like Agricola. I bought some like these at Target for $1 each.

  • A dice tray.

  • Poker chips for certain games, such as Food Chain Magnate.

My big toenail got totally ruined by fungus because I left it untreated for 2+ years. Tbh I didn't know what it was and thought it'd go away on its own.

A year ago, during my trip to Bali, I was in the water so much that half of my toenail actually fell off! This is when I finally started doing research and treating it. I went through a 9 month phase where I slacked off because I was traveling a lot, which is why you see it get much worse. But about 3 months ago I decided I've had enough and took this to the next level. I've been extremely proactive in my routine and am finally seeing results!!! It's a lot of work but it's really encouraging to see improvements.

Here's how I'm doing it:

  • Keep it filed down using this electric nail drill (be really careful not to get carried away & use the slowest setting. stop if you feel ANY pain)
  • Keep it clean & trimmed I make sure the sides of my nail/cuticle are free of debri and keep my nails short using these tools
  • Make sure to disinfect all tools & surfaces using alcohol or hand sanitizer & soap
  • Brush your toe 2-3 times a day with a soft tip toothbrush and tea tree oil body wash (especially in morning and before going to bed)
  • Apply Tea tree oil & Coconut oil after brushing
    • Why: Several studies have shown that tea tree oil has antifungal properties. (source) Coconut oil also has antifungal properties and also smoothes out your skin & nail, which is key cuz tea tree oil makes it really dry and rough
    • How: You can do it by hand, but to make it easier I bought this mini refillable perfume spray bottle, filled it up with tea tree oil & coconut oil 50/50. So all I gotta do is spray it on my toe after I brush and dry
  • Apply Vicks vaporub I apply this along with the tea tree oil & coconut oil once a day or so
  • Apply Urea Cream at night in addition to the tea tree oil & coconut oil
    • Numerous studies have shown combination therapy of urea and an antifungal agent to be an effective treatment for onychomycosis. Urea functions to soften the nail plate, which can enhance the passage of antifungal medications to the underlying nail bed.
  • Footsoaks I've done footsoaks 2-3 times a week for 30 min each. Recently I've been combining 2 part warm water, 1 part vinegar (distilled white or ACV), and like 5 tbsp baking soda. Sometimes I only do baking soda. Sometimes I add a few drops of tea tree oil. Sometimes I soak just with bleach & water. But if you do the bleach & water, make sure you use regular bleach (not the splashless kind). Anyways as you can tell, I kinda mix it up when it comes to footsoaks
    • In the lab, plain old sodium bicarbonate limited growth of the most common types of fungi that cause skin and nail infections. (source)
    • Vinegar can protect against bacteria, fungi, and other harmful microbes, so putting it into a foot soak could have potential benefits for the feet. source
  • Antifungal foot powder I use this foot powder anytime I wear shoes to keep it as dry as possible
  • Try to stay bare feet as much as possible
  • Put toe in sunlight as much as you can fungus hates the sun
  • Clean socks I change into fresh clean socks constantly
  • Handwash & sanitize socks I handwash all of my socks by soaking them in this collapsible dish tub with super hot water, laundry detergent, and a few drops of dettol, which is this super concentrated antiseptic liquid that kills the fungus
  • Spray on sanitizer If I'm ever lazy, I carry this hand sanitizer spray to spray my toenail before going to bed. I also spray this in my shoes & flip flops at night. I also use this to spray down my nail filer, sink, hands, etc. to not spread fungus.

I haven't used it yet, but I just picked up this 3.5 qt bowl on Amazon for exactly this purpose. Reviews state that it fits in the 6qt Instant Pot and it's the largest single container that I could find confirmation of it being able to fit. It's twice the volume of the pyrex 7 cup bowl that the other comment mentioned.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001C09S00/

If you're okay with multiple containers, there's also something like this that can fit less per pot, but about the same/slightly more across the two containers (and gives you flexibility if you want to cook two things at once).

Bottom Pan: 6 cups 4 oz (52 oz)
Top Pan: 8 cups 4 oz (68 oz), but can fit up to 10 cups (80 oz) w/o the lid.

Oh, no...I think I'm a big, fat liar. I just looked up the handle bowl I bought and it says it's 4.5 quart:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004SGFT/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I always thought it was 5-quart because it looks bigger than the bowl that came with the mixer. In fact, the original bowl can almost nest inside of this handle bowl! Sorry if I gave out incorrect info...however, I did see on Google that a 5-quart GLASS bowl works on a 4.5 quart mixer.

u/briemoo · 3 pointsr/whatisthisthing

This is really getting to me now. This is the only similar shaped thing I could find http://www.amazon.com/Fox-Run-5340-Bowl-Scraper/dp/B0000VLPN0 But it has no notches.

u/cnelsonsic · 2 pointsr/glasscollecting

The older sets were purely decorative, and if you wash them you should use gentle detergents and a soft cloth.

I would save them for special occasions, personally. Especially since they're so fragile.

Get a good modern bowl that if you drop it with your buttery popcorn hands you won't cry when it shatters into a million pieces. Maybe some nice metal bowls?

  1. You'll probably want at least one non stick pan for eggs. Teflon is not harmful provided it's not heated to around 500F. It's used in medical implants and is totally inert in the body.
  2. Generally it's better to go for quality, but you don't have to go all out. For any of the big premium price names, there's a mid priced brand that's virtually the same product. Stuff on the very low end tends to be trash.
  3. You should have around a 10" nonstick pan, an oven safe 12" pan you can use at high temperatures, a 4-6 quart pot or dutch oven, and maybe a larger stock pot. Supplant that with some baking sheets and you've got enough to cook for 4-6 people or so.
  4. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004WULC3I https://www.amazon.com/Calphalon-Tri-Ply-Stainless-Cookware-Everyday/dp/B003L0WE78 https://www.amazon.com/Lodge-Skillet-Pre-Seasoned-Skillet-Silicone/dp/B00G2XGC88 https://www.amazon.com/Lodge-Enameled-Classic-Enamel-Island/dp/B000N501BK https://www.amazon.com/Nordic-Ware-Natural-Aluminum-Commercial/dp/B0049C2S32 https://www.amazon.com/Checkered-Chef-Cooling-Stainless-Dishwasher/dp/B06Y5F3NGY https://www.amazon.com/Vollrath-Economy-Mixing-5-Quart-Stainless/dp/B07BB3SPR2 https://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Fibrox-Chefs-Knife-8-Inch/dp/B008M5U1C2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00151WA06 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002HDXVO https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GRFHXVQ
  5. I'd say follow your interest in recipes more than anything. Motivation is a big deal, and if you think the food is boring you'll be tempted by the drive through.

When you say, quickshade medium, do you mean this?

What techniques did you use to paint it with?

I would like to enter myself a mom of three . That is in desperate need a mixing bowl to whip up Christmas goodies in 🍪🧁🥧🎄. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DANG778/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_8ef1DbQ4ZSMV9

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/internetparents

you could do what a lot of people in the UK do (I've been told other countrys don't do this but idk) we basically have a massive square bowl the same size as the sink in the sink. we wash our dishes in it and then we wash the massive bowl like any other bowl

u/juggerthunk · 2 pointsr/Cooking

I'd say the essentials include a non-stick frying pan, a smaller pot (2-3 qts), a larger pot (5qts+), a cutting board, a chef's knife, measuring cups, measuring spoons, mixing bowls, a whisk, heat resistant silicone spatula, stirring spoons, serving spoon, ladle, aluminum baking sheet, tongs and can opener. With all of the above, I can cook ~ 90% of what I usually cook.

I, personally, don't care much for cast iron skillets. They require too much care and too much oil to keep up to snuff. I prefer a nice three-ply fry pan (This is what I own). A couple splurges on my part were a 2 qt saucier (was on sale for $50) which is great for making sauces of any sort because the whisk can fit in the rounded bottom of the pan. I also like the All-Clad 4Qt. Essential pan, with the tall sides and wide top. It's easy to make something a bit larger with this pan.

Finally, I bake all of my pizza on a cheap round pizza pan. It's not the fanciest, but it gets the job down well.

u/baccgirl · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

G'day, I'm a little new to all of this, so hope this helps!

Instead of the bowl/utensil set, go with This one it's 23 pieces $39.98 then grab These bowls for only $8.99
Don't buy any books, there is more info online.
For shampoo, just use bicarbonate of soda (in a bottle and mix with warm water) then after using that, rinse off with apple cider vinegar. Natural and will clean your hair! (Just don't start eating salad in the shower). Cheap enough at about $5 for 2 months of washing hair.
This one is $10 cheaper and would do the same thing!

I don't know if this is what you are after, but judging from the other answers on here I think I may have done what you asked. If not, sorry!

Edit: also make your own GF flour!

1 1/2 cups (240 g) brown rice flour.
1/2 cup (96 g) potato starch.
1/4 cup (40 g) white rice flour.
1/4 cup (30 g) tapioca flour.
optional: 1 tsp xanthan gum (not necessary).

u/Mycoxadril · 2 pointsr/whatisthisthing

My first guess was a bowl scraper but its an oddly complicated shape for that.

u/turdtumblr · 2 pointsr/Cooking

I just purchased this for like $6. It's good for mixing things in by hand or an electric mixer. It can be used in the microwave and oven up to 450 F. Well worth the purchase. I also purchased some of those thin, bendable plastic cutting boards from the dollar store, and they are amazing. Easy to clean and store. Large chopping boards are great, but can be a pain to clean. Lastly, a cast iron skillet is a must. Easily one of the best purchases I have made. They're affordable and can last a lifetime. They do require a little bit of maintenance, but are well worth it. I use mine for roasting chicken, stir frying, and baking bread. There's also a whole subreddit devoted to cast iron with tons of advice.

u/hugemuffin · 2 pointsr/Cooking

Yup, the only time I bust out these are for prepping bread or pizza dough.

I actually use a set of hard plastic bowls for everything else. Except for cookie making, there's just something not right about making cookie dough in anything except steel.

u/Central_Incisor · 2 pointsr/BuyItForLife

I've had my Anchor Hocking 3-Piece Mixing Bowl Set and the 4 QT bowl and use them for everything from serving salad to baking bread pudding. I searched the second hand stores for glass lids for them all so I can raise bread without using plastic wrap. Stainless is great, but I like to see my work so it and my ceramic bowl get used much less. I just wish they sold a set with matching lids, most bowl sets have plastic colored lids that might be more air tight, but in my experience just do not last and cannot go into the oven.

TIME! TIME! Who's got the time?!

I have this mixing bowl on my kitchen list that I could use....it relates to time because it would save me SO much time if I had the extra one, instead of having to clean the one I have in between batches of cookie dough and icing etc etc etc.... it takes SO much time to keep washing and then mixing and using then washing again etc.... (oops I linked and talked about it)

If not, I do have an outdoor clock on my yard list hahahaha, but that's boring :-p

Thanks for the contest! <3

u/I_am_really_shocked · 1 pointr/instantpot

I don't know how much bigger an 8 quart is than a 6, other than the obvious 2 quart volume. I got this one from Zulily (not there at the moment), and it fits into my 6 quart, but there's only about ½ to ¾ inch all around, and it comes up almost as high as the IP itself; on the original IP trivet, I can still get the lid on tightly. I'm not sure that's enough space for the IP to come to pressure, so I haven't given it a try, but your 8 may be able to handle this deep 3.5 quart bowl.

One of the 2-quart ones is a Pyrex. The other didn't have a name on it, but it looks sort of like this guy.

u/aviatoraway1 · 1 pointr/instantpot

I personally use a steaming rack like this one here with a metal bowl that will sit on top of it (holding the rice and water) like this one here. Now you will have to measure your personal instant pot to make sure that the 2 inch high rack and the bowl do not interfere with the lid going on or that the bowl is not too big around to not fit in the pot. You can get a 2.7 inch high rack, but I find that it requires A LOT of food to fill more than 2 inches in the pot.

To cook your food, I put everything minus the rice and water into the bottom pot (usually a curry mix with the meat), and the rice and water in a metal pot that sits on the rack (I personally use basmati white rice at a 1:1.9 rice to water weight ratio, other white rices should be similar). I find that cooking at a manual high pressure for 6 to 10 minutes with quick release will fully cook chicken in the liquid bottom part while not burning or undercooking the top rice part.

I try to find recipes that will go good with rice that require a 6 to 10 minute manual high pressure setting and just add the rice on top. I will follow the recipe, but add the rice on top steps. The vast majority of liquid recipes that go good with with rice are like this.
