It's still true.
If you really want a basic four function, I recommend the Casio MX-8B. $11.50 on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DZW979E (Don't accidentally order the GX-120B on the same page).
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0006L25FQ
https://support.casio.com/en/manual/004/MS-8B_etc_WA_EN.pdf
The Casio MX-8B has large, high quality keys, a large display, and because it is solar/battery, the LR44 button cell battery will last for at least five years for a typical user. The Casio JW-200 and HP12C calcs recommended elsewhere on this page are both fine calculators but have more features that the basic four functions you specified.
HOWEVER...
I am now going to try to talk you out of using a basic four function.
The Calculated Industries Model 4019 Material Estimator is allowed in the exam, is super high quality, and will be something that you will find to be an invaluable tool when you actually start working a job. $26.17 on Amazon and Home Depot.

Note: Many home builders who do a lot of stair work prefer the Calculated Industries Model 4065 Construction Master Pro, but I am not sure that one is allowed in the exam.

If you really need to write the fractions, my personal pick would be the TI 36x pro, but maybe a HP 300s or a Sharp EL-W535TGBBL might fufill your needs while being cheaper. But honestly if you want to go all out for a great calculator that will make you fall in love with RPN, get a HP 35s
"When calculator and computer connection, install batteries, you can click "connect" button to connect to the computer, and then you can press the "send" key calculation results will be sent to the computer."
Holy shit, now I want one too. I thiiiink there are also scientific calculators that can do this...

That's like saying this calculator and this calculator are the same thing because they're both calculators.
Get a gold one and he will be the envy of the AV club

Hello! Thanks for the contest!!
On my list I have "Victor 940 Advanced Scientific Calculator" and here is a [link](Victor 940 Advanced Scientific Calculator https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FUT8JPS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7hXsybC6R5H60)
I've been teaching myself math so that I can return to school. I've been using the website Kahn Academy to study all of math from elementary and up. I'm pretty far in my progress(feels so good to say that!!!)and soon I'll be needing a more scientific calculator.
Happy holidays and hats off to you!

This calculator got me through highschool and Uni. It was enough for my math and science classes, you dont need a fancy graphing calculator unless you're taking engineering or advanced math courses.
A few more options

You might get good mileage out of it in HS, but since College Professors won't usually let you use them on tests or exams, in college, you're gonna want to learn to do it the hard way on paper.
I would NOT advocate for paying full-price for one.

The cheapest nSpire I see on Amazon is in the $99 range, used.
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=nspire&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
But you can get a used TI-84+ in the $70 ballpark:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B007WM3MW2
Or a perfectly legit used TI-83+ in the $30 ballpark:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00001N2QU

The keystrokes and function operations are very similar across all of the TI calculators.
So when the textbook or homework says to press <this key> then <that key> to perform something specific, that should be pretty universal for all TI calculators.
In other words, I don't think you MUST have an nSpire, unless your teacher is being lazy and doesn't want to deal with any deviation from the nSpire key layout.
Some students mind's are completely blown when the <function> key isn't located in the exact same specific location as the textbook example.

Two suggestions if you choose to purchase your own calculator:
You sure as hell don't want to have to buy a second one.
Buy a protective pouch/case for it like this:
https://www.amazon.com/LuckyNV-Protective-Instruments-Calculator-Accessories/dp/B075LH789Y/
You sure as hell don't want alkaline batteries to leak inside it and ruin it.
Some or most nSpires come with rechargeable battery packs.
But most TI-83 and TI-84 models use 4 x AAA batteries.
Lithium batteries should last for years and won't leak/corrode like an alkaline battery might.

I have one and I use it every day. At my old job I had this one: clicky
No tape, but works the same way. If I actually have to save something, I'll do it in Excel
Can confirm, I used to use one similar to this - https://www.amazon.com/SHRQS2760H-QS-2760H-Two-Color-Printing-Calculator/dp/B01IPUZW04/ - at the restaurant I managed, super solid, it had mechanical key switches... I have never used a calculator I could be faster on until my Ducky one (https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=2247) however, the ducky one needs to be plugged in via usb, but it can be used as a numpad as well which is nice.
