thank you, these are a lot closer to what i was looking for! but damn they are expensive!

I also kept doing some digging and found that the things in the picture are called pack baskets, and are still regularly used in the US by trappers and hunters. they are still inexplicably made of actual basket material, instead of like, pvc plastic and rubber, or something. So i did find the damn things, but i don't think I can very well walk around nyc with something related to a wicker chair on my back without embarrassment. I guess i figured that their would be a modern version of them made by now? that wasn't, ya know, still visibly a basket. I'm thinking of just making one myself out of scrap plastic and covering it with canvas, since im p sure what i had in mind does not, in fact, exist. Thanks guys!

  1. When my parents were dating, my dad told my mom she had to make a good pie. My mom makes the best fucking pies I have ever had. I need to get this for her for reals. Transport all the times!

  2. My family loves to play party games at holidays. One of my cousins has Cards Against Humanity, but we really need a copy here because this is where all the parties are. The one my mom picked for her little brother… I am still disturbed by it.

  3. When my family travels together, we all rotate books and discuss them. When we were in Spain, we all read The Time Traveler's Wife. I never watched the movie because the book was too good. My mom and I would totally read Takedown Twenty because we adore the Stephanie Plum novels. They might be tacky brain candy, but you need that from time to time.

  4. No question. Sister Act

  5. I tried really hard to find the fragranced Strawberry Shortcake dolls I had as a kid. That smells takes me right back to the 80s. Then I remembered that I liked Strawberry Lip Smackers because they reminded me of the same thing. It's a two step situation, here. But I think it works.

I use one of these collapsable, insulated picnic baskets. It tucks under my desk and I find it much cuter than a regular lunch bag. It also is big enough for my liter glass bottle of iced tea.

I like to be able to reach in and grab what I want. I also like to see it all. I use a shopping basket. I have some cups in it to hold things upright and some shallow square bowls for threads and such. I can put books standing up on the side, or I bring a tote if the books are very large. I lay my fabric in the top of the basket.

I rock a classic Jansport backpack for school books and what not. I have a Dakine tote bag for the beach/gym/day to day its being used as a purse right now as I have been using the same purse for the past six years and frankly....I'm sick of looking at my old one lol!!

I absolutely LOVE picnicking and have two of the coolest picnic baskets ever! One is just a run of the mill similar to this that I use for taking stuff to parties or for shopping trips that will be quick. For longer trips or going to the beach/floating the river I use one similar to this!

Kinda funny story, I lived in a very Russian neighborhood in NYC and was doing my grocery shopping I used to use this Insulated Basket to do my shopping and carry my stuff home. One day an old Russian woman was angrily yelling at me and reaching for my groceries I pulled my basket closer to me and she yelled “BABY! BABY!!” In English and aggressively motioned at my basket. I laughed while showing her there was no baby in there it was just an insulated basket.
