Pie Crust Weight Chain

The weights are chained together, making it easy to remove them without losing any.

My mom got it for me as a gift. It looks like Amazon has it.

I bought a four pack of mini pie dishes from home goods / tj maxx for $4.99. They look like these.

https://www.amazon.com/Masterclass-Premium-Bakeware-Mini-Oval/dp/B00EZ619T6

I transfer my whole sample to the dish and try to squash it evenly. Use it like a puck on its last legs for 5-7 shaves and face lather.

I prefer these because of the grip that the lip provides.

If you hate the scent just soak for a few hours and they wipe clean.

Here is one article from Southern Living. https://www.southernliving.com/desserts/pies/crustless-pie-recipes

The Hasselback apple "pie" is a fascinating idea.

Tart pans (https://www.amazon.com/HOMOW-Nonstick-Removable-Bottom-Quiche/dp/B01LL85MDE) make crustless pies and quiches easier to do.

I think you need to pay more attention to structure, either with the filling itself (as in the Hasselback apple idea) or with thickeners either cornstarch, flour, or gelatin. All of which lead me to think of aspic.... *grin*

Hey peeps, my Mom is looking at doing miniature work using 3D printers, anything from 48th scale to 12th scale is something like the Ender 3 Pro viable for that or would resin be the way forward? I see some great figures but they are often not at the right scale for her to really assess.

Would a pie dish like this be possible (5mm diameter 48th/20mm 12th)?

Something like french furniture (40mm height 48th/160mm 12th) maybe since it's bigger?

Would appreciate any info on the mini scene that is more furniture based rather than figures.

I agree...though possible, pulling tarts out of a muffin pan can sometimes be devastating when they stick or crumble. Could you buy disposable aluminum mini pie tins? I use them for butter tarts. I can find these at my local grocery store, with the other foil pie tins and roasting pans. like this:

You can serve them in the tins (this is what I do) or because they are flexible, it is easy to push from the bottom to pop the finished pie out.

I don't get the baked goods in a jar craze...it seems like it would just make things more complicated to eat.

Why not just buy a mini pie maker?

It's a totally unneeded kitchen gadget which is exactly the kind of thing I've become a sucker for thanks to Amazon.

Thanks! I had gone the lazy way last time and used some boxed mix but that stuff ended up being awful and I couldn't even get it to work right. It was a total mess. I'd like to try again because even when it was a mess it was delicious, lol. I'm addicted to apple pie

I brush mine with heavy cream, and then sprinkle on coarse sugar (Wilton makes it, usually it's by the sprinkles if you can't find it with the regular sugar). Also, I second putting foil on the outside or investing in a cheap silicone shield like this.

Some hosts swear by this makeup towel (which helps with laundry cause cosmetics are a bitch to get out)

I like to serve breakfast for my guests and make mini-quiches for them. This mini-pie baker makes individual quiches in 7 minutes and my guests adore them.

I bought myself this corkboard for the guest space - so that they can affix pins and show where they're from.
