Here's what I personally use:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008FUUQJW - Extra sealing ring to use when you make sweet things to avoid transferring any smelly savoryness from the other ring.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XKPBT1Z/ - Steaming basket, of course.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KHHFCKS/ - A 7" springform pan to make Cheesecake #17 in. (If you only get one thing, this is the one. Because cheesecake.)

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008FUJ2LK/ - Tempered glass lid for slow cooking and/or letting people peer into the pot in awe while food is being kept warm.

And if you just want to buy fun things, the mini mitts are nice for getting the cheesecake out right away: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B012D33BD4 And not catching on fire when you want to remove the inner pot or hold it in place while you saute.

I also bought these stackable pans the other day (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M130JJL/) but so far all I've used them for was a dual meatloaf. I like them but I can't really think of a lot of uses for them at the moment.

I know this isn't what you asked but I bought these to avoid that issue - https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Instant-Pot-Sealing-Ring/dp/B01LFFN36Q/

O cartaz aqui oferece bons conselhos.

It looks like a condensation collector from a rice cooker.

sticking has never been a problem for me.. even when I brown stuff... half the time the recipe calls for deglazing anyway so you have to scrape the bits before you add the rest of the ingredients.

IMO - non stick doesn't brown meat "correctly" bacon in a non stick skillet is weird.

and what is the nonstick coating anyway?

this doesn't sound good..

>I purchased a Power Cooker with the teflon pot which started flaking off rather quickly. I then purchased a stainless steel inner pot thru Amazon & love it! It has made a huge difference in the outcome! Just be sure that you measure carefully the height of the current inner pot, as there can be a slight difference. The one I got for mine was right for mine but just a hair too tall for my neighbor's IP, but by carefully checking the descriptions, I was able to find her the right size for her IP. Hope this helps, even tho this is several months later than your question.

IPs official nonstick liner is ceramic..... sounds similar to scanpan's.. I have one of their pans.. their coating is bulletproof..

https://www.scanpan.com/

If I was to go that route.. I'd get the ceramic nonstick.

How did you clean it? The upper section lid is dishwasher safe. I usually pull out the ring, release valve and the rectangular cover on the bottom and wash them all on the top rack. I wash the stainless pot on the lower rack. If you tried that and it still smells it's probably the ring that's absorbed the smell. You can order another ring off Amazon pretty cheap.

u/river-running · 3 pointsr/instantpot

My go to for getting stubborn smells out is to steam a couple cups of white vinegar in the IP for a few minutes, disassemble the lid, and then run the pot, lid, and ring through the dishwasher.

I did buy two extra rings to keep on hand (and because I like the colors).

Here are my faves.

Silicone lid

Stackable egg trivets

Veggie Steamer

Extra sealing rings

Fat Daddio Cake Pan

I think my absolute fave is the Fat Daddio pan. It's the perfect size for cooking pot-in-pot. I mostly use it for rice and the rice never sticks at all.

Yeah, I had dumped all of my other appliances after mastering the Instant Pot (rice cooker, slow cookers, egg cooker gadget that actually worked great, etc.). Eggs are still amazing in the IP (the shells peel off sooooo easily!) & rice comes out great, but it doesn't hold rice very well without drying it out & making it a bit crusty. Plus the rice sticks like CRAZY to the metal pot...I ended up springing for their new non-stick inner pot:

It does a better, but not a perfect, job - as long as I take the rice out right away & clean the bowl immediately, it's pretty good, but I miss my Tiger rice cooker, haha. But I used to use that fuzzy-logic rice cooker to hold rice all day & let my roommates & later my family graze on leftover & rice for lunch, dinner, and snacks, so it was nice to always have it available - but I do meal-prep now, so the IP is functional for that, at least!

Plus I don't usually like bringing my IP places - I'd rather bring my cheap crockpots & not risk dropping or damaging my Instant Pots lol. Sometimes I'll cook up a batch of food in the IP & transfer it to a crockpot for the stay-warm function.

My pressure cooker has a tempered flexible gasket that goes around the entire lid that the manufacturer says should be replaced every year with heavy use.

Hate to be a wet blanket, but I have to question whether that Tower sealing ring is right for my cooker.

If you look at the Amazon page for the same ring (it must be, because it says "For use with 7.0 L pressure cooker"), it also says "Measured by internal diameter", and there's a review that says "Wrong size, be careful when ordering this as measurement is internal size and not total diameter. Bought one on Ebay exact size of 24.5 cms."

I'm not sure about the various Prestige ones. I'm more inclined to try to sort the Tower one, because it's a better cooker AFAIAC.

Edit: I just checked to see what Prestige seal I previously ordered, and it was this one. I can't see much point in ordering another, since I have had so little use out of the last one. I really suspect that cooker is not going to seal, no matter if the seal is genuine and brand new out of the packet. Mind you, scrolling down the reviews for the seal I can read "don't last that long", and "I have to replace these gaskets so often, that I have now bought a Tefal one", so there you go.

I don't know what the purpose of an s30 valve is (maybe its a UK thing given the terminology used) but would a spunding valve fill the same task?

Mine was cheap to build off of this valve with a new weaker spring:

haven't needed to buy a second liner yet but i did buy these items:
http://amzn.to/2jatjNU (higher trivet)
http://amzn.to/2jtqOag (out of stock, there is more expensive one on amazon, you have to snap the handles off it to fit the pot though- you need 8 inch)
http://amzn.to/2jtzj5t - extra silicone ring - I keep one for oniony foods and one for less savoury foods. You can get the onion smell out or most of it out by putting 1 1/2 cups white vinegar and lemon peels in the instant pot and let it steam for 5 minutes.
8 inch heavy duty steel mixing bowl.

u/becausenooneeverhas · 1 pointr/instantpot

How nice of you to research your gift. Your choice will depend largely upon how many people she usually cooks for.

I have the 8 quart Ultra (I usually feed 9-10 people) and don't regret it at all. This is the only version with the knob and I love how easy and intuitive it is.

On Amazon, if you click on an Instant Pot and scroll down, there are charts comparing them. Like here.

I regularly use the glass lid you have to purchase separately. There are other gadgets you can get for it, like stackable pots and extra sealing rings (because yours will eventually smell bad), among other things.

You can just type in "Instant Pot Accessories" on Amazon and see what is available.

The IP comes in various models (and also versions of most models).
The LUX60 comes in a version 2 and 3--don't know if they're different from each other, but they're different in various ways from the DUO's including the two new DUO-Plus and DUO-Ultra.

This pic may be of the underside of the lid of version 3 and your pot/lid may be version 2 since it's older and doesn't look quite the same:
http://en.huarenstore.com/instant-pot-lux60.html

Here's the replacement float valve (and whole lid as a separate item) for the LUX60, at the Instant Pot Store site:
https://instantpot.com/store/search.php?mode=search&page=1&keep_https=yes
(and https://instantpot.com/store/product.php?productid=5&cat=0&page=1 )

And this is from amazon, though one person there said they used only the silicone cap/seal part since using the whole metal part (float valve) was a bit too long? Don't know if that's true though:

https://www.amazon.com/Instant-IP-CSG60-IP-CSG50-IP-LUX60-IP-LUX50/dp/B01N5SHNXZ

The silicone cap on the float valve is essential to act as a seal for the float valve. Otherwise steam would just keep leaking out there and pressure would never be achieved.
(Otoh, the metal "cages" that some units have to fit over both valves on the underside of the lid aren't essential, and aren't even used on some of the models/versions.)

u/adultcontempt · 1 pointr/instantpot

Some sealing rings and a ceramic bowl are 20% off on amazon

u/RustyDogma · 1 pointr/instantpot

Aha! Well the one you need depends on the size of your IP. I have a 6qt so I got this one. I kept burning all my pasta sauces. This pot fixed that (although preheating also helps a lot).

u/211logos · 1 pointr/VanLife

Why a radiator cap? I wouldn't think you'd need pressure relief unless you're doing something really crazy to power the water out. Most just use a bike pump and some regular ABS fittings, like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NodTvFcK0Mc

And you can buy low pressure relief valves with standard pipe fittings, like these at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Control-Devices-Non-Code-Adjustable-Pressure/dp/B007GDXT3O/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_328_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=BMYQPGS9H0XS6WN8V3QX

Otherwise, if you've say got the cap already, why not just buy a radiator neck? your auto parts place probably has them. Rather more of a pain to fit into ABS I suspect, but with enough glue anything is possible.

Seems like a lot of work, but a fun project.

They're three dollars more: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Instant-Pot-Sealing-Ring/dp/B01LFFN36Q

Worth it because you know they'll work. Mine have.

Might be. Eventually I'm going to do a true test of this, I just haven't had time yet because we're in the middle of moving.

Here's the bowl I got, if you want to try it, too: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ICL8M1I

Since buying my nonstick pot, I haven't used the stainless one once.

I also recommend the silicone trivet/steamer set.
