(Part 2) Best sony psp games according to redditors

Considering they are going for £200 on amazon.uk... that is cheap.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars might be my favorite GTA game of all time. The PSP version is my favorite (over the DS/iOS versions), thanks to the upgraded graphics and the way the analog nub works well for control.

Patapon and Patapon 2 are amazing rhythm-based games and are both well worth playing if you have a PSP and you like fun.

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles gives you two of the greatest Castlevania games of all time: Rondo of Blood (you actually get two versions: the old one and a 2.5D remake), and Symphony of the Night. Keep in mind that the classic Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night have to be unlocked in-game before you can play them. It's a stupid arbitrary unlock but there are plenty of guides online and they aren't difficult to get.

Finally, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X is a phenomenal remake of the SNES original. They mix up the item locations to keep veterans on their toes, and the game plays just as smoothly as the original. Fantastic title.

Sorry dude, you are getting ripped.. a new psp game maaaay if really popular come out around 70 bucks in Japan...

but the one you threw up is on Amazon now for around $40

*quick self edit...it goes both ways...wanted to buy a Turbine Time Game Card on Amazon, was $20 on the U.S. site and $40 on the Japan site...and they don't send the U.S. ones to Japan anymore....we are truly getting ripped.

OH HAI! Something I can speak to with a bit of authority. But first…

My corporate overlords make me say this: I am speaking on my own, not as a PlayStation employee here. These opinions are my own, especially the wrong ones.

There are three PlayStation “regions”:

1. SCEA (Americas)
   
2. SCEJ/A (Japan/Asia)
   
3. SCEE (Europe, Africa, Australia, and everywhere else)
   
   In each region there are different stores. The U.S. store is different from the Canada store. The German store isn’t the Italian store.
   
   Your PSN account is tied to a territory and associated with a store. You will find it very difficult to have the One Ring of PSN accounts that lets you buy DLC from SCEA store and use it on SCEJ purchases. This sucks. We know.
   
   It’s part of the punishment for being early to success. You’ll have to remember that Sony Computer Entertainment is older than the internet and way older than downloading games and DLC. (Things SCE helped drive into reality.) When they got started making PlayStation back in the day of fax machines, overuse of the word “extreme”, and hammer pants having a multiple territory corporate structure made lots of sense and once cast in steel its hard to change corporate structures.
   
   Other commentatorists here have the right ideas.
   
   
4. Stick with your US account. Buy US games. This is ok as long as your game's multiplayer does a good job of detecting your physical location rather than the game binary to determine which lobbies to place you in. (Ideally, you’d probably not want to game against people in Maine or Florida from Japan.)
   
5. Get a second, Japanese, PSN account. Buy Japanese games. This seems a bit complicated to me. Especially for managing friends, chats, et cetera. But its a unique opportunity to get some content on your PlayStation that you can't get from a US account. And some if it is really cool! Some of it is just like, wow, you know?

Thanks. Feels good when I'm able to finish and cross out a game and move on to another one. Also, Megpoid The Music is a rhythm game that features the Vocaloid Gumi. Another good reason for me to still use my PSP :)

The 6th review here suggests that disc 2 is the same as disc 1 with bonus content (added for the port).

Play Asia is good for certain titles if you can get a couple games for $30 or less with their $5 coupon on second purchase (for over $60 order). However, a lot of their games are overpriced. For example, Genso Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki is $34 on play asia while it's only 1800 yen for the non best version. Also, unless you pay extra for shipping, it takes forever to arrive.

Uhh, Fate/Extra already has an English release.

The general consensus is it's not that great though, but Fate/Extra CCC is supposed to be amazing, so it's one of those "read it for the sequel" type things (the Muv-Luv Extra to CCC's Alternative if you will). CCC's the one not likely to get a translation anytime soon though.

The reviews say that it has removable pieces that once removed it can then it can fit a psp1000.

I can't guarantee either of these games will work. I don't know if the PSP is Region Free or not but I know that people can use emulators to play it as well. There aren't any Monokuma plushies that I think would satisfy a hardcore fan.

• First Game Artbook - I saw one on ebay. Art books are also nice to own for collectors. I don't know how deep of a fan your friend is so I wouldn't know if she is heavily invested enough to truly want it. (But I would so I put it on this list)
  
  
  For the games, depending on the personality of the person, they may just like having them as some collectors are like that. (me included) But you should be warned that the games may NOT play on PSPs outside of Japan. I do NOT know. This is all for the list of what I could think of at the moment. I would recommend figuring out how deep into this interest she is.

Well, there are numerous sites you can import BBSFM from, including Amazon and it's only $25-$30 Used. That, and as long as your PSP is running custom firmware, there are several methods on ripping your copy to your computer. From there you can apply the English patch and then enjoy it from there.
