Thank you for this fine blessing.

First off, I find this really interesting. I think this is the earliest drawing Hussie did of the Beta Kids, before Homestuck was even conceptualized. I'm interested in the symbol on Jade Harley's shirt, it looks like an upside Leaf. It's weird how Jade's symbol was the one that took so long to eventually settle on. Also, I'm curious as to what that Jackhammer looking machine is, possibly something that would have belonged to the Phernalia Registry? Also, Hussie may have considered an isometric top-down style at some point, or was simply figuring out how John's design would work in three-dimensional space/from a different perspective.

There's this concept art for a Problem Sleuth game, though I'm not sure how far this dates back, I'm assuming pre-Homestuck/early Homestuck. Still, a crying shame it never came to fruition.

As a side-note, friendly reminder that there was a planned Midnight Crew walkaround that we never got.

Wizardy Herbert is an actual text, btw. It wasn't made up for Homestuck. I always found it interesting how Hussie reincorporated ideas from his older works into Homestuck in new and interesting ways, not just Wizardy Herbet, but And It Don't Stop, Whistles : The Starlight Calliope and a whole bunch of others.

Pre-Homestuck Hussie is a lot different to post-Homestuck Hussie, I think it's suffice to say.

I'm so jealous of Andrew Hussie's art capabilities. The simplified designs he's prone to using severely disguise his actual skill/talent.

I have never heard of "Eidophusikon" before this moment, so I looked it up. Apparently it was a book that Hussie did the illustrations for. I have no idea if it's good or not though.

Aw, I had forgotten about the Captcha Calculator. Friendly reminder that these still haven't been ported/adapted, and when Flash stops being supported in 2020, Homestuck is Homefucked

Final note : Friendly reminder that Dirk/Bro did absolutely nothing wrong. Look at this face. Does this look like the face of a villain?

This is my book. The blurb:

>On the eve of Firelight's last concert of their world tour, their vampire bassist is accused of assaulting a human. The other band members have their own secrets. Can they keep the lucky (and naive) fan who won the chance to spend the day with them from finding out the truth? In a satire of boybands and their fans and a look at what it's really like to be a vampire in the 21st century, the only thing that sparkles is fool's gold.

The next Thursday book comes out next week! In the meantime, Shades of Grey is good as well as his Nursery Crime books and The Last Dragonslayer. If you're looking for something different try Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn.

If you like a dash of romance with your fantasy, and you like a good mystery, then Charlaine Harris is the author for you. I have all of her Southern Vampire series (Sookie books) and all of her Lily Bard series. I highly recommend them both!

Here is the first of the Sookie books.

Summary:

Sookie Stackhouse is a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana. She's quiet, keeps to herself, and doesn't get out much. not because she's not pretty. She is. It's just that, well, Sookie has this sort of "disability." She can read minds. And that doesn't make her too dateable. And then along comes Bill. he's tall, dark, handsome-and Sookie can't hear a word he's thinking. He's exactly the type of guy she's been waiting for all her life...

But Bill has a disability of his own: He's a vampire with a bad reputation. He hands with a seriously creepy crowd, all suspected of-big surprise-murder. And when one of Sookie's coworkers is killed, she fears she's next...

My number one rule when it comes to publishing is I refuse to spend a single personal penny on the process. This is not a hard rule to follow since I'm broke. My publisher paid for editing, cover art, and all the other fun expenses that come with publishing. To date, I personally have made $17. I would have liked to have a promotion budget, but I simply couldn't afford it and still can't.

When it comes to sharing, I'm a very private writer. People at work don't know I write. Most of my friends and family had to buy Sandman if they wanted to read it because I didn't want them to read it until a professional editor (actually two because I had a content editor and a line editor) had gone over it with a fine tooth comb. I don't talk about writing with most people until I have a publisher lined up. The only two exception are my boyfriend and my mom. My boyfriend lives with me, so he knows how much I write, although I generally don't talk plot with him. I let him read my manuscript just before I start shopping to publishers.

My mom is also a writer with two books out Loona and the Saragasso and Not Guilty. She is a wonderfully helpful editor. She is currently (and I mean she just texted me a comment so I know she is right this second) reading Night Vision for me which is about halfway through the editing process. I let my mom read my work when I run dry on major edits but before I start serious line edits. She usually points out some major plot holes I miss because I know what's going on, but I've forgotten to tell the reader.

When people ask about what I'm working, I just tell them I've got a few projects going and nothing is pretty enough yet for sharing. If a person pries, I tell them I'm too busy with my day job and my personal projects have been put on hold for a while. But I talk about writing so rarely, most people don't realize I've written anything since Sandman and they don't ask.

If you are a fan of folklore and the paranormal, my first thriller is out on Kindle for $2.99. Superior Moon

Synopsis:

For Detective Alain Logan, it's hard enough to police the vast wilderness of northern Michigan without adding make-believe monsters to his list of troubles. It's true the first body found in the woods had part of her leg eaten, but the Upper Peninsula has black bears, even wolverines. It's a locale with all the problems of the real world--meth labs, budget cuts, winter like a toothache--and just happens to have myths that eat people. The huge tracks are harder for Alain to explain, not to mention the fang marks on the disemboweled priest. As far as Alain is concerned, a murderer is a murderer. These are his woods, his town, his gullible idiots, and no one is going to hurt them. It's his job to catch monsters whether they run on two legs or four, and he has to take care of this before his own damned nightmares about blood and dirt and darkness drive him to the loony bin.

Check out the Novella "Backup". It's told from Thomas' point of view, and introduces you to the Oblivion War.

Really makes me wish JB had time for a spin-off series featuring Thomas as the Protagonist. Would give a great new spin to the Dresdenverse.

I would like this ebook. It's the first Sookie Stackhouse novel, an I'm dying to read it. I like to take my kindle with me to the gym, and I think this would be the perfect page turner for my workouts!

Thanks for holding the contest! <3

Lies, Damn Lies, and a Vampire Rock Star

>On the eve of Firelight's last concert of their world tour, their vampire bassist is accused of assaulting a human. The other band members have their own secrets. Can they keep the lucky (and naive) fan who won the chance to spend the day with them from finding out the truth?

Pluses: It's short, easy to read, the grammar and spelling are good, it's occasionally funny, and the vampires are somewhat different than usual - they're not teenagers and they don't sparkle. They're not even especially sexy. They're actually kind of surly and weird.

Minuses: I started out with an A plot and a B plot and unfortunately the A plot is more interesting but the B plot gets more pages.
