I think it’s an Automatic (Stone Mill) Gongfu Tea Set. I don’t believe there’s a proper name for the set other than that, but maybe someone who’s used one can provide more info.

From what I know, it’s mostly a novelty way to do Gongfu brewing, used for show similar to the way a themed or decorative teapot might be used compared to a regular teapot for western brewing.

Amazon has a bunch of teapots like this! Here is one cute teapot with warmer I found! There is a bunch more!

I was looking at Gongfu sets on amazon the other day and came across this Tea Soup & Fine Day Chinese Portable Ceramic Travel Tea Set and laughed.

It's tea BROTH not tea soup. duh.

Mint-blue sets are a bit harder find than mint-green celadon sets. If you are willing to go deeper blue or blue-and-white perhaps something like this? Or if you are looking for a simpler set, there's a lot out there more like this one. These are both on Amazon, but are sold from vendors that may have websites outside if you wish to buy direct.

I think you've got the right idea!

Some additional equipment you might consider getting:

- a mesh strainer: some teas have kind of small particles. you can find strainers at a lot of tea shops. although the pot has a filter, some smaller leaf pieces can still end up in your cup. This one's on amazon just to give you an idea of what to look for. I'd pick a different one though. they don't seem to have a lot of options on amazon. Just search for a gongfu strainer or filter at a tea website/store.

- A fair cup: this is just a pitcher that you pour the tea into before pouring it into the cups. It ensures that everyone is getting the same strength tea. The first cup can be weaker than the last since the water has had a little more time to steep in the last cup. The problem can also be solved by pouring a little bit in each cup multiple times instead of filling them in a single pour.

- a tea pet: they're just cute lol. some of them are supposed to bring good luck and some of them do things like spit water, blow bubbles, pee, or change color. you pour excess tea on them and they get nice and shiny.

If you're in London, maybe try Mei Leaf? I've never been nor have I ordered from them, but they have a pretty good online presence and a lot of people seem to like them. They're #5 on the Vendor List. They just posted this video about gift ideas of teas that they carry. Some of them sound pretty good. They also probably have the stuff I mentioned above in their store too if you want to get everything in one trip!

Looks like this one.

I have this at work and have used it for all styles of tea (Japanese greens sometimes slip through the strainer, though). It’s very compact, but so cute I get lots of compliments and it makes me happy to use it.

Copied from an earlier post:

Sure, just a note that the dragon set 4 cups i received was more almost a taupe, not cream as pictured, they don’t have the cream.

It’s a lovely set, love the design and bag. Its great for work if anyone is going to join me for a cup, i will take it when i travel.

So I've been wanting a glass teapot for a while now and bought one off of Adagio Teas however I didn't check ZENS. There's also the larger teapot that I was looking at from ZENS as well.

What do you all prefer? I'm leaning towards the Zens one (49oz) at the moment and am thinking of just returning the Adagio teapot but I may be just making another impulse decision haha.

Thank you! It's funny you say that, since during the session we talked about how we need a bigger tray for when we're both drinking or have our friends over!

My wife bought it on Amazon, actually and it was relatively inexpensive. I think this is it!

u/data_j · 2 pointsr/tea

This is the set I have for camping. Not as light, not as many pieces, and not as nice. But it's cheaper and works for me :)

Stoked you're into drinking multiple styles of tea! If that's the case, and you're starting to move into teas who require multiple steepings to be enjoyed fully, I'd recommend going with a porcelain teapot & using a strainer. If you're not ready to make the leap to a regular gaiwan, you might consider an easy gaiwan-- I have some that I really like :)

Here's a link to one that my friend (also getting more into tea) recently picked up and has been liking: https://www.amazon.com/Vegali-Handmade-Chinese-Traditional-Green-010/dp/B01LZD4TM6/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=porcelain+easy+gaiwan&qid=1572772210&sr=8-6

We had to remove your link because it contained a referral code. Here is a clean version of the link.
