Hi there-- I travel around the world with clothing so I'm pretty familiar with steaming and garment upkeep. I recommend you purchase this steamer which is very affordable. You want to wrap the head of the steamer in a white washcloth, hang your dress in an area where it's reachable from both sides (a door frame perhaps?) and steam it from the inside out, starting from the top and working your way down.

With a steamer this size, you will have to refill it a few times but they heat up quickly and produce pretty consistent steam. Just please make sure to wrap it or you can risk water splatter on your dress.

Also, please please be careful not to burn yourself by overfilling the mini steamer and tipping it. I'm typing this while looking down at my arm which has a large scar on it from an industrial steamer... Ouch!

A bridal place may be willing to steam it (or a taylor, honestly) but they will likely charge more than the cost of the portable steamer. May be worth calling them on the phone in advance and seeing if they could cut you a break, though!

Ignore these people. I always travel with a steamer for the reasons you said. Irons suck. Wearing wrinkled clothes sucks. Finding a local cleaners while you’re trying to travel and enjoy yourself sucks. I always travel with this. It’s less than $20 and packs well. Maybe if these people would be more efficient with the rest of their packing they could fit a steamer too without issue.

Does anyone here use a clothes steamer that works on flat surfaces? A lot them can't be used past 45 degrees tilted and I found one that looks promising but I was wondering if anyone had any other recommendations. Thanks!

This doesn't help if the reviewer received a discount on the product for their "honest review."

This little steamer for example
