I'm saving for a treadmill!

I have the same ear problem you do. Everyone thinks I'm crazy or just whining but its really awful. I've tried various gear to cover them but I think it might be partly circulation related, so covering doesn't really help. Like I still have enough body exposure to the outside temperature and from breathing in the cold air, to get a general all-over vasoconstriction but it only bothers me in my ears? Anyway covering my ears doesn't cut it.

I got this treadmill in january, seemed like the best rated of the cheap treadmills, still big and solid so it doesn't feel dangerously wobbly running on it. Although I haven't been impressed with a lot of its bells and whistles (the fan is pretty lame and the heart rate moniter just doesn't work), there was another popular one for about $400 that completely lacked the bells and whistles entirely, I think it was this one: http://www.amazon.com/Merit-Fitness-725T-Plus-Treadmill/dp/B003TNJRLI/ref=pd_sbs_sg_4

I thought it would be the mac book but turns out that the [TreadClimber] (http://www.amazon.com/Bowflex-CR052-TreadClimber-TC20/dp/B006FPRDL8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2PYGMD6VI6EA6&coliid=IBXK7YPMIGFMA) is the most expensive thing on my wishlist.

I have this one and I love it. It's really quiet. It has a long, smooth belt. It inclines to 15% and goes up to 12 mph. It has some other great features like a heart rate monitor and a really nice screen. Another thing I really like is how stable this machine feels. I currently weigh 190 lbs and the machine hardly moves when I run. It has a 350 lb weight limit. Another cool feature is that it has controls on the handles for the speed and incline.

Hey uh Sex-Watcher , was out on vacation just seeing your post! So I did some research and had found this treadmill

https://www.amazon.com/AFG-HTM1076-01-5-3AT-Treadmill/dp/B014496OEI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483491573&sr=8-1&keywords=AFG+5.3AT

At the time it was for sale for the unbelievable pice of 735 dollars. I went for it and purchased the treadmill. Assembly wasn't too bad, however it helped I had my friend there to help me put it together as the treadmill was a 300 pound beast!

functionally it's a pretty good treadmill, however i don't have a whole lot to compare it to. Build quality seems really good and solid so hopefully it will last me a while.

Hopes that helps, i don' think you can go wrong with anything from AFG.

Trying to get more steps in as winter approaches. I live in a small house and a full size treadmill is out of the question. Is there a way to buy just the bottom part of a manual (non-electric) treadmill?

The idea being I could simply walk while being on my computer, and easily store the thing in a closet when not in use. I don't want/need it to have handles. I guess I want it to be a basic conveyor belt haha.

[Something like this] (https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B013THFRZS/optfit-20) but without the handle part. I may just get this and make it work, but I'd prefer it to be a simple walking platform as small as possible.

You should check out the Rebel 1000 desk if you haven't already. I think this is the one I'm gonna buy, based on price, warranty, and reviews. If you have an Amazon prime store card the rewards would be nice, too.

I like the under-the-desk style because it's much cheaper just to use an existing table and vault it onto some cinder blocks, and boom, $500+ cheaper.

I have this

I bought it for like $800 two years ago and it is still in great shape. It seems a lot more substantial and "gym like" than the ones I've seen in other people's home. I want to feel safe and sturdy when I walk or jog on a tread.

The Sole F80 [as per /u/nwtomw suggested] looks pretty legit. It has pretty good ratings and the warranty looks good too. Currently $1499.99 with free delivery/no tax. So, it's more than likely what I'll end up getting.

I got a Sole F85 treadmill (Amazon Link) and I'm quite happy with it. It won't support me running yet at my size but that's ok because I shouldn't be doing that anyhow. It's pricy but totally worth it.

Well, I would like to stay under $500 for sure... Under $400 would be even better... I know that's probably asking a lot for some equipment to support my weight. I did see something like the Exerpeutic TF1000 which supports up to 400 lbs for about $400, but wanted some ideas for other options.

I just want to add to this. I went on Amazon and blindly bought the highest rated folding treadmill there was and that was the LifeSpan treadmill.

I bought the pricier one:
http://www.amazon.com/LifeSpan-Fitness-TR3000i-Folding-Treadmill/dp/B002FJZLJY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415653094&sr=8-1&keywords=lifespan+treadmill+tr3000i

I would guess that the cheaper models would have done just fine though. Anyhow, I've been using the treadmill for 1 year. It's great! Oh my god the treadmill desk holder is a genius idea. I'm going to buy that...

For the OP, I would highly recommend mixing in cycling. Running can be very aggressive on the knees for many people. Mixing it up with cycling might help reduce that...

This one is good for 10mph. How fast are you trying to run exactly?
