Not the OP, but you can get by with a good caliper and tinkercad.com. You can model your objects there, export to STL and print on your printer.
Small neodymium magnet and pocket scale are the EDC for the just-walking-buy customer. Haven't quite worked out a compact caliper for accurately measuring, this looks good but I don't know how rugged it is.
Heh. Just a little cheap plastic thing I keep in my pen case. I use it for when I have to slap something together in CAD for 3D printing. Very handy for stupid little plastic doodads that get lost or break. If you work with scientific equipment, most machines spend a third of their time not working for lack of a hose fastener or a spacer or a plug. The 3D printer has payed for itself ten times over just printing gel combs for electrophoresis.
