I bought this instead. It's been working great for me. When your battery is running low just hit the button on the pack and it plays and charges at the same time. You can put it on the docking station too and it charges both the pack and the game pad.

Yeah good luck getting the official one. It's almost perpetually out of stock on the Nintendo store.

There's always third-party solutions, but it is Nyko.
