So definitely not the cheapest but I got my friends these wine aerators for Christmas. They’re cute and practical! I’ve also gotten wine stoppers as favors and those are very practical and cheaper

In 15 years of bartending, I've never even heard of a bar that saves bottle caps to reseal bottles. Nor have I met a bar owner that would spend $10 on a single pourer. I'm not sure where you work but they must be rimming the margaritas with gold dust if this is seriously being considered.

Edit: sorry, didn't realize this was for your home bar till I re-read your post.

Beer brewing kit

So, you'd probably want to switch out the spigot for stainless steel, but the beer brewing kit one is cheaper :)

I bought these for stocking stuffers a few years ago and never actually handed them out because I love them.

They really helped me curb my intake. When they click, if I want to pour more, I can't fool myself into pretending that I mixed less than I actually did.

My go-to is the Kirkland vodka, seltzer water, mixed with elderflower syrup, costs me about $0.82/drink, or $1.08/drink with a doubleshot and I want to feel fuzzy.

Alternatively, Kirkland rum (14.99/1.5l) and mug cider (Ziegler's cider @2.49/gallon, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1tbsp nutmeg/ground gloves/allspice in a soak pack) makes for a strong, cheap AF fall/winter drink that feels like a snuggle in a mug.

I have had the same frustration when doing infusions. I normally filter first through cheesecloth and a fine mesh sieve, then through Chemex filters. I usually have to change the filter about every 16oz, and it takes quite a while.

Someone once recommended the Buon Vino Mini Jet Wine Filter, but I didn't want to spend that much for the low volume I do, so I just deal with the slow filtration.

Piggy-backing with suggestions.

Whites - look for moscatos and sweet rieslings. They're excellent "starter wines" with a sweeter taste. Seriously, a $6 bottle of Barefoot Moscato will do, and that way you're not out too much money if you don't like the taste. Serving them chilled also helps out with taste.

For red wines, I recommend pouring with a wine aerator to help with the taste. Pinot noirs or red blends might be less intense for you. And feel free to add fruit to help lighten the flavor (I mean, that's what sangria's all about). Throw in a couple of blackberries or orange and lime slices, whatever you want.

A nice aerator like this can make cheap wine pretty good. And making you're own wine can be a great hobby and super cheap! =]

I have recently started using these wine pouring discs and the results have been great.
