You were probably more accurate when you incorrectly spelt “aggressive” before you edited your message. Triggered? No, I just tend to type a lot in comments and posts, and I don’t tolerate thread crapping. That doesn’t mean I don’t take constructive criticism, but the original thread crap wasn’t tactful enough to be considered constructive. It actually came across as pretty arrogant.
Back on topic...
No reason huh? Why do you think people are encouraged to use electrical tape to hold the slack of their wires to the board? Electrical tape or hot glue... Honestly, what’s the difference? I would rather use a dab of hot glue than an ugly strip of electrical tape, but that’s my preference and I’m entitled to it just as you are entitled to your own. It’s not like I caked my Matrix Trident in hot glue, thank you very much. I also don’t F my M, nor am I clumsy. So let’s stop tossing stones, ‘Kay?
As for claiming to be “good” at it, why not go back and read over everything again. Yeah, I never made that claim. But I’m not bad either. I know my place, and the majority of the reason my soldering is less than perfect is because soldering on the 360 in particular is not entirely doable with a 15w iron. The ground planes make it difficult to get a good solder joint with one, and that’s what my precision soldering iron is. A Hakko Dash 15w, which currently has the smallest tip I’ve ever used on a soldering iron (small, much like this one). I sometimes switch out for my 25w Weller iron, but it doesn’t have the precision I need, nor are the tips as high quality as the Hakko ones I’ve used. It does have the heat though, so guess what’s on my shopping list? A temperature controlled Hakko iron.
Also, let’s not assume that the joints are cold— I know what a cold one looks like and anytime I get one that looks terrible I clean it up with desoldering braid and redo it after cleaning off my tip. I never said that my joints are the greatest that ever existed, so I don’t understand why people are acting like I did. I know for a fact that the smaller points on the board (CPU_RST, POST, STBY_CLK, and DB2G3) have a great, solid connection. These don’t require as much heat as the rest of the points, and they are a perfect fit for the 15w iron I regularly use.
So what’s the point for me to post my install? Just a little something called information preservation. Do you realize the only place on the net that has a tutorial online for CR4 Muffin now is WeekendModder.com? Did you know he also likes to use hot glue? And his soldering is perfect! Wow! I wonder why he uses it... Puzzling.
That being said, when I’m merely trying to preserve information, I think it’s natural to get a little defensive and annoyed by people straight up criticizing with no constructive attitude whatsoever.
Got this drive, heard its cross-flashable!

Yeah, I think it is a slim model. Not exactly sure but it does look like this model - https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Slim-250GB-Console/dp/B005YR1VP2. I have the model number and stuff if you want to verify, if it helps.
I just tried using a 4TB drive, and making two partitions. No dice. I even tried making a 2TB partition and leaving the rest as unformated, and that didn't work either :(
Resorted to throwing in a cheap 480GB SSD. I have a bunch of 256GB flash drives, but I'd rather use a drive.
I heard the best drives for the 360 are the 2TB Western Digital Blue
I was looking at this but it only works on a Carona slim which I have.
