AT&T Mobley but same should apply. Use Google Earth for best location of hotspot. On the cell side signal had to clear a solid wooden fence, miss the corner of a garage, go over the roof of a house, then underneath a tree canopy. On the wi-fi side, it's through a window, miss the end of a wall, then through one wall. Mine is outside the house, inside a plastic trash bag, sitting on top of a six foot step ladder. I moved it in all directions one inch at a time and did speedtest. Just bought a Franklin R850 on Sprint FreedomPop. Expect the R850 to end up placed right next to the Mobley. At&T and Sprint cell towers are right next to each other.
Might end up using a log periodic antenna, passive external antenna adapter and a connector. No external antenna connections on either hotspot.
Maybe one of these could help so it isn't charging all day/night. Have it turn off for a few hours and charge for a few so the battery isn't fully charged nor fully drained, like have it on 4 hour intervals or something. Not sure if that would do anything but that is technically what they recommend.
I'm not sure if it can do both. Although, an option you may be interested is you can get an the IOgear universal adapter. This will connect to the hotspot via wifi and allow you to connect via an ethernet port.
I have this https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202225050833

Had to get some adapters but I went from - 119db or about zero bars to a solid - 94db or three bars. Download is now 15mb VS 3 before and upload went from 1 to 15mb.
I just used the debug menu under about to see the signal while making little adjustments and hitting refresh over and over.
Works good now... Once in a while it will be roaming to a weaker signal even tho it's set not to but I suspect that us sprints way of throttling my unlimited data, that part it did before.
I had a Magic box too, that thing Is garbage
I got the same one from Amazon for $12 cheaper than what the 4GCommunity offers on their website.
