Mostly just wanted to say good for you. I don't think you can go too wrong here, especially if this is your first time giving her a dedicated day. I guarantee she will appreciate it, no matter what.

I would second most of what the others have already said: get her some cute and decently made diapers, give her a few bottles (add a little sugar/sweetner to the milk and warm it a little to make it extra wonderful). I'd recommend getting a bottle with an adult sized nipple (it can be a little difficult with the baby ones), too. Prepare her food for her and maybe feed her, depending on how little she is. I actually like baby food, myself - you might make her try some (something fruity - not veggies/meats), but sounds like your wife might be a little older than me, so maybe mac & cheese, chicken nuggets, and hot dogs might be in order. Maybe make her wear a bib, depending on her age.

I think cuddling is one of the most important things - spend lots of time cuddling her and holding her. I also second the kisses on the forehead. Tell her you love her just the way she is, and use whatever little pet names you have for her (or princess or sweet pea if you haven't given her one yet). If you're big enough/she's small enough, maybe carry her some.

Watch some Disney for sure, but also be sure to read her some cute/fun bedtime stories when you put her down. Then put on music box-esque lullaby music softly (search lullabies on YouTube).

I'd caution you on the spanking(s) - some people love that but others don't - you should know or ask your wife about that, don't assume.

Lots of folks like pats on the butt now and again to be reminded of their diapers. You should definitely make a deal about checking her diaper (fingers in the elastic to see if she's wet).

If she doesn't have an adult sized pacifier, get her one (but it sounds like she might). Likewise, she probably has a favorite stuffie, but if not, get her one. I also wouldn't go get furniture to start, but a cute snap-crotch onesie and/or footie pajamas would be great.

I also highly recommend toys. I love my visual rainmaker (https://www.amazon.com/MP400-Visual-Rainmaker/dp/B0018YYPJ4) and my Perplexus Epic. I can really play with those for a good while and feel like a baby, moreso than some baby toys. As others have said, coloring is also always good, as is Play Doh.

Try to enjoy her happiness and enter into the pretend with her as best you can. The straighter you can play it that's she's really little, the better. Whatever you do though, it will be great!

my relevant older post

hopefully someone said something that will help.

also in the end i settled on prevail fits to a tee diapers (the same ones i started with >.>) because they:

  • make virtually no noise
  • hold a good bit of pee (if you don't flood it all at once)
  • are one of those belt loop type diapers where u strap the belt like extensions first then pull the rest of the diaper up from between your legs (i'm sure that wasn't a good description >.<).

but that type of diaper is great for everyday use because it's good for a mild wetting or two (again give it time to soak up the pee) and if you have to poop but don't want to have the smell give you away then you can go into the bathroom and untape the front 2 tabs without undoing the belt tab and the diaper will hang around your waist which you can then just push up a lil and sit down on the toilet to do your business and you wont have to completely rediaper yourself and be loud as heck. its just a simple "one tape, two tape" thing and your done. it's noticeable that your messing with diaper tapes when your in the bathroom but not nearly as bad as it is with plastic backed diapers with tape tapes, not cloth with velcro tapes like the fits to a tee

linkity link to where i bought mine

hope this helps. don't forget to let us know what you decided on (like i was suppose to >.>)

I'm so happy for you! Coloring is like my favorite little activity. I'm really glad you're finally able to indulge your little side. Your posts are always super cute. You should give one of these a try! They're really big and fun to color.

I know I'm a bit late but I love these ones from gerber, the fast-flow nipples are a bit longer and fit better in my mouth than the slow-flow they come with, and I like the silicone feel over the latex feel.

I just use a regular trash can with a lid. I chose the 11-gallon (well, 10.6) because 13-gallon kitchen trash bags still fit in it just fine, but if a 13-gallon one is full of wet diapers, I have trouble carrying it, but I definitely wanted something larger than a 7-gallon bathroom trash can. Honestly, I don't notice much difference between the trash can and the 13-gallon one in our kitchen.

I also keep my bedroom window open, weather permitting, and spray Febreeze near the trash can if I notice an odor, even if I'm only noticing the odor when I open the trash can to dispose of a freshly removed diaper. In the warmer months, when odors seem to be exacerbated, I also put the wet diapers in super small trash bags and tie them closed. The bags aren't really large enough for a diaper I've been wearing 8 hours, but with the diaper rolled up, and the more open end facing inside the bag, they do well enough. I almost never notice an odor and I definitely was when I was just keeping them in a trash bag that was twisted close.

That said, I'm urinary incontinent and only using diapers for urinating in them. If you're using your diaper for more than that, what I'm doing may not be enough for you.

You want to use duck tape to solve that problem. It won't look as cute as just wearing the diaper, but the right duck tape is the solution.

When I say "right duck tape" I don't just mean the kind that you pick up from the store. You want something that will be sticky and adhere to the material (whether cloth backed or plastic) so that it won't come loose.

I suggest this: https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Tough-Transparent-Duct-Tape/dp/B0000DH8I8

Get the transparent kind, not any other kind. The material is light, and the adhesive is the best for either cloth or plastic. I found these back when ABU tapes were kind in need of a bit of help to stay affixed. This is what I used for that purpose.

Use the tape to just replace the taps. Fold the diaper wings in, and tape it as if the duck tape were the tapes that came with the original diaper. I know this works because I've done it.

I don't suggest any of these:

  1. https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Clear-Repair-Duct-Tape/dp/B00EUGCT22/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_60_bs_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY (bad because of the tape material and failure to adhere to cloth, but improper adherence to plastic)
  2. https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-6003001-Tough-2-88-Inch-30-Yards/dp/B003KTLRUA/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_60_tr_t_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY (too thick, feels awkward while wearing)
  3. https://www.amazon.com/Duck-240867-Strength-Inches-Single/dp/B00LT1NAHY/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_60_lp_t_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY (material does not hold well, and adhesive is generally garbage)
  4. https://www.amazon.com/Black-Gorilla-Tape-1-88-Roll/dp/B000CSS8UE/ref=pd_bxgy_60_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000CSS8UE&pd_rd_r=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY&pd_rd_w=xGgRa&pd_rd_wg=1ByEk&psc=1&refRID=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY (this would be good for something like repairing a tarp, but other than that, this stuff is just too sticky to reasonably work with)
  5. https://www.amazon.com/XFasten-Transparent-Filament-Inches-Yards/dp/B01F2VA150/ref=pd_sim_60_6?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01F2VA150&pd_rd_r=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY&pd_rd_w=ZEkgp&pd_rd_wg=1ByEk&psc=1&refRID=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY (absolute shit material)

It's from a potty training video called 'No More Diapers', the whole first part of which is about how much the protagonist loves diapers...it's pretty great. =) Then he finds his next door friend has graduated to underpants and just like that decides he wants to wear underpants too (the traitor). At the end the song in the original post is repeated but with 'diapers' changed to 'underpants'.

This is one the greatest things for double diapering. I use the Wartenburg Pinwheel. Basically you can poke hundreds of holes in a matter of seconds. This will help you avoid a bunch of SAP leaking from one diaper into the other and making a mess.

Seriously, if you double diaper on the regular, I highly highly recommend you pick one up!

I figured this out a few years ago when it was the only sort of stain/odour remover I had on hand at the time. And I’ve continued to use the same brand since. It works actual miracles.

I really like Nuby Sports Sippers see Amazon link as they're real bottles for toddlers but an adult can suckle from them at a decent rate as they have a faster flow than regular baby bottles. They've been my go-to bottles for years.

Alternatively, if you're into animal play or just want a huge ass bottle, you could always go with calf feeding bottles. They have a rougher nipple texture, but you're not likely to find bigger bottles.

Poop smells. There are not many tricks to making it smell better. This is one of them.

This women's anti perspirant smells like baby powder. Spray it in your room like an aerosol.

Have you tried Amazon? There's one there that is made of I believe cotton and is just a light blue undershirt. You could cut off the sleeves and hem it...

http://www.amazon.com/Adult-Bodysuit-Diapering-T-Shirt-3X-Large/dp/B00106509O

They come in different sizes.
