I'm in love with my KRK KNS8400s. https://www.amazon.com/KRK-KNS8400-Studio-Headphones/dp/B004ARUO2S
Great sound (super flat/balanced), relatively comfortable. They aren't very portable though, if anything.
I would highly recommend this book:

Most jobs hire before they even do a formal posting. If you're just at home working on your resume and combing the internet for job postings, you're not going to find the job you're looking for. The formula to a successful job search is to identify the type of job you want and then talk to people who are doing that job and people who hire people who do that job over and over and over again. Asher goes into some more detail in the book.
Bring it with you. FEMA gives almost everyone (depending on their position) laptops. And they are junky old dinosaurs. The bag they give you has space for almost all of your uniform items, aside from your boots and hardhat, and some personal clothes. A decent sized backpack will more than suit your needs for an additional way to bring items with you. I myself use this as my personal bag. It has more than enough space for my needs.
