The controller is $34.99, and the Xstander phone clip is $9.99.

It might seem kinda expensive for what it is, but trust me the build quality is great, its very sturdy and super easy to use. Turns any phone into a hand held retro/emulation gaming device.

Depends on your particular use case. I bought an Ipega 9055 specifically because it will hold most phones both vertically and horizontally. The build quality is acceptable, but definitely a little cheap feeling. I've used it on and off for 4ish months with no issue. Pairing it up is simple, and it's quite responsive. One caveat, howver, is that apparently the joysticks behave more like cleverly disguised 4-way dpads than true omni-directional joysticks. This may or may not be an issue for you, depending on what games you play. I really only play emulators or other tactics games, so I tend to use the dpad anyway.

The folks over at XDA still haven’t cracked the Note 3? That is surprising. I have the Moga Power Pro (same as the pro but bigger battery and can charge you device) and the Pocket. You will not be disappointed by the quality of Moga, any model you choose is well built and sturdy. I don’t recommend the pocket because you will need root with some emulators, the pocket does not have an HID mode like the pro. The 3rd controller you mentioned seems a lot like the IPEGA-9025 and should cost about 20.00 bucks. I read mixed reviews about the IPEGA some bashing the quality of the buttons and others bashing the compatibility with apps and phones. Is Gameclip and option because I think the OTG cable to the Sixaxis controller directly should work. Good Luck, If you do get the IPEGA post a review.

The fire tv and ouya versions of this game are playable sideloaded on practically all Android devices:

You only need a gamepad or if you are root you can play it using touchscreen controls with apps like tincore or gamekeyboard+.

Elliot Quest is a pretty cool console game with 3 different endings and a lot of secret areas and bosses, great for Android tvs and boxes. Available on Steam too.

Currently 33% off on both app stores:-

I bought it on 23/12/2014 for €4.65, Only now completed the full game on easy! that's a full month of occasionally playing it. Will be replaying it again at Normal level.

Highly recommend this game, works great on the Nexus 9, check the required specs for the game before purchasing.

You mentioned you have a wireless 360 controller. Instead of buying a wired one you might want to try one of these. I have a Nexus 7 and a wired 360 controller and it works great. I've read that those wireless dongles work with the N7 as well, so it would probably work with your tablet.

It is also available on the Amazon appstore for .99 for those that have Amazon coins leftover.

The sticks don't seem quite as bad as with the Ipega. I don't play any native games that use it, but in Mario 64 I can tip-toe walk with the default configuration with a light touch on the stick. I had to reduce sensitivity to ~85% with the Ipega for that. At 1 deadzone and 90% sensitivity it seems to be working well on Mupen64Plus FZ, though I'd say it's still a bit too sensitive by default.

I don't know if different manufacturers do things differently with the hardware or firmware, but if it matters, I bought the CamRom branded one.

What phone do you have?

I use an otg adapter and a wireless pc adapter for my wireless 360 controller. I didn't have to install anything extra. I imagine if you had a wired controller you would just need the otg adapter.

I think this is the otg adapter I use.

There are quite of bit of YouTube videos on how to install it. Mods work with it, and I beat it 2 times on my phone.
