Decent build, but upgrade your case!
This is a great choice for $31.
Decent construction, easy to build in, just great in general.
You will probably have to drill your own standoffs and drill out different HDD bays to get it to fit.
It's not that hard, though. I crammed a Dell GX270 in there with the PSU in front and an EVGA 6200 and I drilled out all the HDD bays and mounted my SSD on the roof with double stick tape and my storage drive on the side.
Took me about 3 hours to get everything in there and the cable management perfect.
A bit of a budget setup, but I am finally extremely happy with it. PC running R7 370 and 1090T. Still handles most games fine on med-high, but hopefully upgrading in about a year.
After the picture was taken I moved the mount about 8 inches to the left. There is a bracket in the middle of my desk that prevents it from being perfectly centered. Any suggestions for what to do next? Mouse upgrade is probably most practical - I've been using a $20 'gaming' mouse for about a year.
Monitor - Found out after I got it that if you keep an eye out it occasionally drops to just over $200.

Desk
I absolutely love the mount, it works great for me because I don't need to drill any holes into my wall because I can just attach to my desk. The mount I have is a Mount-It! Articulating Single Arm.
Here's the link to it on Amazon:

Highly recommend these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004ALYGI2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_qz6OzbMSMVY3W
for all-around good sound and some very cool blue lighting effects. Had them in a black/blue battlestation I called "The Bruiser" a couple years ago lol.
I have that same desk! The keyboard tray sucks and it also scratches easily.
I have my wires twist tied to the back using plastic tie mounts right along the top section. It makes it look a lot nicer, for like 3 bucks!
Yeah, here’s a link to it on Amazon
cyberpower pc
It’s really good for a prebuilt
Those are decent cases for the price, I love my arc midi. You can get an adapter to mount the hard drive in the 5.25" bay. Like this
Use one of those banana holder things. They are pretty cheap.
Here is one

Pretty generic.
Thanks! The keyboard is a Keycool 87 with Logitech G710 keycaps. The cable I’m using is a LINDY Coiled Cable.
[These] (http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E1Y5O6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) will help you get started on cable management.
The mouse is just a cheap cobra E-3lue gaming mouse. The monitor I like because it gives me more space to work with, especially with documents. It's also nice for gaming. I actually used to have 2x21.5 inch monitors, but I found myself not using both of them, so I sold them and got a 27 inch.
The poster is Battlestar Galactica artwork with a quote from one of the main characters. You can find it here. They also have similar posters for firefly and Doctor Who.
I have had this laptop for 3 years and I used to game on it. That really did a number on it so I have thermal shutdowns constantly. It's when the CPU reaches 90 degrees celsius--probably what's happening to your laptop. Of course, mine wasn't made for gaming so I kind of tortured the thing. But yes, I think they make an impact of laptops because it's pretty much a big fan that is pushing air up into the chassis.
Here's the model I have

Personally, I wouldn't skimp on HDMI splitters. The cheap ones REALLY suck and you start getting signal problems quick. It's going to be hard to find a three way splitter, most of them come in 2 or 4. Like so: http://www.amazon.com/portable-Powered-Splitter-1080P-Support/dp/B003JAXBWW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1393713829&sr=8-5&keywords=hdmi+splitter+1x3
