I'm not saying with 100% certainty that this will work, but I started playing guitar about 15 years ago and when I started my fingers would kill me if I played for like 30 minutes or so. I bought one of these and it drastically improved my dexterity to where I could play as much as I wanted without pain or stiffness. Granted I was 16 at the time and things didn't hurt as much or for that long, but it did help.
Another thought it tape? Maybe open up the finger holes a bit more and tape your fingers. It should work like a compression sleeve and keep your fingers from swelling in the first place.
Or neither of these are good ideas. I don't know. I'm spit-balling here lol
Dealt with a wrist problem that ended up in surgery here:
I have 4 balls (3 + plastic) and wouldn't change that unless i no longer wanted to get better. Since it's pretty much possible to strike with anything on a house shot I just bowled with a different one every night. This keeps me from getting complacent on a line with the same ball that I know best at the house I'm always at. This way I'm not completely out of my comfort zone when I travel to new places for tourneys. Also, I don't ever lug all 4 of them around unless it's a tourney, so don't need the 4 ball bag (can just use a Joey.)
I have tried about half a dozen wrist straps for tendinitis in the past, and this is my favorite:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012IYRXA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It doesn't get as hot as neoprene and it doesn't have any metal or plastic pieces, just velcro. It still offers a nice amount of compress and is extremely comfortable.
That game was awesome, off to scour the torrents for an ISO to play in dosBox.
Hah, you can get a copy at amazon for $100 http://www.amazon.com/Brunswick-Circuit-Pro-Bowling-Playstation/dp/B00002STQQ

I know I'm really late to the party, but.. for a thought, have you ever seen those little tykes bowling sets? Like This. Might be able to find a cheap version somewhere. Then you can put the gift certificate inside the box. He gets a big box to unwrap, then a confused look, then a big reveal! Best of both worlds. And, you get something to fool around with in the living room when you are bored/drunk.
What kind of rosin bag are you using?
There are the white ones like this that emit a ton of rosin, so much that it will coat your hand:
http://www.amazon.com/Ebonite-Ultra-Grip-Rosin-Bag/dp/B000MEFSHY
I would only use those in very, very humid/sweaty environments and very sparingly at that, otherwise it will eventually cause sticking.
Then there are "dry bags" like these, which are more of a middle ground:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MECMN2/
I'm not sure if these are technically 'rosin' bags, per se, but that's what I call them anyway. The rectangular "dry bag" is what I use nowadays and can use it to combat moisture all night without getting sticky. However, I still make it part of my routine to rub out my thumbhole, just in case there's buildup.
There's going to be variance between brands, so you'll just have to ask around or try a couple different versions until you find one that suits you.
If you happen to overdo it, you can sneak off to wash your hands with soap and water and start over. Just make sure to dry them thoroughly obviously. I don't like doing that when I'm bowling well, mainly for superstition, but there have been nights it helped me regain my grip.
I've had a Storm Marvel crack at the bridge like your Rotogrip Cell did.
It's completely fixable, just needs to be filled in both finger tips which, since you're getting them redrilled, would've been done anyway.
The yellow Track looks like it's also cracked at the bridge, still no big deal. But I can't say anything definite about that crack arching over the finger holes. I doubt it can be filled like the bridge. It might be better to drill out the area above the fingers so that that crack doesn't spread, then fill that whole area.
Price estimates: A normal fill and redrill for the Rotogrip will run about $50 (this can fluctuate wildly from shop to shop of course). This could drop to $30 if you don't need the thumb filled/drilled (but don't skimp on precision to save a few bucks, you could wind up disappointed, forming bad habits, or slowly injuring yourself, worst case scenarios).
The Track shouldn't run much more than whatever is charged for the Rotogrip because (assuming the way I mentioned is a good way to save it), they only have to drill a little more before doing the same fill/drill process as the Rotogrip.
But I've been going at this sport seriously for only 2 years, so I'd love to see some other opinions here.
Edits: Estimates are assuming you're going to include fingertip grips and thumb slugs.
How about a photography backpack? They often come with velcro dividers so you can build the inside how you need it.
I have this one for my DSLR, but I‘m sure it would work for bowling stuff.

General athletic tape. I use stuff I buy at Wal Mart for like ~$2-$3 a roll.
Here's what I get.
If you do try to "play through" the pain, it's a good idea to wear a forearm brace to protect the tendon. This is the type I use. I had a pretty severe case of tennis elbow that forced me to bowl left-handed for a year and am mostly recovered now. With the brace on while bowling, I'm confident that I'm not about to hurt it again.
Have you fixed your 10-pin shooting, do you think? When the cause of the tendonitis goes away, the pain will probably go away too -- but sometimes that happens maddeningly slowly.
What's the difference? 500 grit :p
Like /u/TheWanderingchemist mentioned, though, you actually need a polish on there. Storm has a resurface guide here that says:
1500-grit Polished Factory Finish
I only see the Step 2 sold by the quart, unfortunately, but that gives you an idea of what you're looking for. I got a small bottle of polish thrown in when I bought my ball spinner, and I don't currently throw any polished reactive gear, so I can't chime in.
Awfully common background image
The Big Lebowski and Kingpin are staples to the bowling theme. I also had this excellent VHS tape back in the day. This!. I think I actually wore the tape out when I was a little kid, it's a stellar documentary (albeit dated) about the history of bowling and the PBA. I think I'm going to watch it the next time I go home ^_^
Crown Factory Polish? blahhhhh that stuff is a pain to work with lol
Powerhouse Factory Finish Polish is what my PSO uses on everything - I've used it on covers from every major manufacturer without issue. https://www.amazon.com/Powerhouse-Factory-Finish-Polish-Quart/dp/B000V820EU
If this helps any, I purchased this sole and heel.
Sole:

Heel:

From just eyeing it, it doesn't look like it would add too much thickness to the shoe all together.
I have an Ebonite wrist strap and it only wraps around my wrist. I rarely use it but it works well. Some people complain about the plastic part irritating their wrist but there's a foam flap that tucks under the plastic part to prevent this from happening. I don't really feel it on me unless I tighten it to the extreme.
