Love my trunk liner, cargo cover, front mats and trunk organizer.

Trunk liner gives me peace of mind when carting around liquids and such. The cargo cover also gives peace of mind, hiding any valuables in the trunk. The front mats are amazing and I leave them in year-round. All three of these are OEM.

My trunk organizer is [Rola from Amazon](Rola 59001 M.O.V.E. Rigid-Base Trunk Organizer https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000E81VN8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_NVjGzbY43P412) and I love it because it folds almost flat and I actually slip it under the trunk liner when I need the space.

Installing the OEM roof rack and cross bars yourself is super easy if you want to save some $.

For skis (and probably a kiteboard in the Summer) I went with the Yakima FatCat 6. Looks great, was a snap to put on and is very easy to get skis in and out of.

okay so like the comment below 303 is simple and easy. I don"t use it much as its not readily available here in Toronto.

Things i do use:

For the dash board and any plastic inside the car i use:

https://www.amazon.com/Mothers-05324-Protectant-24-oz/dp/B0007RDVGG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487704916&sr=8-1&keywords=mothers+interior

OR

https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G13616-Interior-Detailer-Cleaner/dp/B000AMLWH8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487705281&sr=8-1&keywords=meguiars%2Binterior%2Bcleaner&th=1

For the carpets i do 2 thing when i am in a hurry ill use:

https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-50572-Rubber-Cleaner/dp/B00PKE6NNY/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1487704985&sr=8-12&keywords=turtle+wax+interior+cleaner

Just spray some on the carpet and after a quick vacuum then do a good vacuum job this can take like 30 mins once you get the hang of it.

when i have time i use:

https://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-1400B-Multi-Purpose-Portable-Cleaner/dp/B0016HF5GK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1487705069&sr=8-2&keywords=bissell+little+green

The second method is simple just follow the instructions it came with and this item usually goes on sale there are better ones that keep the water heated.

They also both give the car a nice smell after cleaning i don't have leather seats so i can say much about it.

as for windows there 2 steps i do as well:

I use

https://www.amazon.com/Invisible-Glass-Premium-Cleaner-91164/dp/B0007OWD2M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1487705440&sr=8-2&keywords=invisible+glass

Then polish the exterior and where is no tint with

https://www.amazon.com/3M-800002242-RAIN-X-WINDSHIELD-TREATMENT-3-5/dp/B000WNED08/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1487705503&sr=8-13&keywords=rain+x+glass+cleaner

The second step is a bit tedious so if you are not comfortable stick with step 1.

The thing that also really good to have is good clothes for cleaning the more the better Micro fibre cloth's are the best.

https://www.amazon.com/RAG-COMPANY-Professional-Microfiber-POLISHING/dp/B0166U4PVC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487705636&sr=8-1&keywords=micro+fiber+rag+company

and for glass:

https://www.amazon.com/RAG-COMPANY-Microfiber-Professional-STREAK-FREE/dp/B00WC5KQGE/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1487705755&sr=8-5&keywords=rag+company+glass

After wiping the class with step one and then its dry i usually just follow up with a dry microfiber cloth to pick up any little dirt i left behind.

If i left anything behind let me know ill make a full post once summer comes around with maybe a video of sorts but there is alot of information also to r/autodetailing wiki post and sorry for the format if its not up to standards this is my first long post.

I have 2 kids and a CX5. Here are my recommendations:

VERY inexpensive all weather mats that cover well with some trimming required: (still amazed at how inexpensive these are given they also come with a cargo mat and they work great) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XQD4T9G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Seat backings (your kid(s) will kick your back seats with their dirty feet!)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N7AIRYD/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s02?ie=UTF8&th=1
I like these because they don't sag like some other ones I've used

For seat protectors, I use these but honestly I used a towel for years in my old cx5 and benz and that worked fine too. Because of the seat backings I have, I don't even use the pouch on this thing
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008J3UD2U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s04?ie=UTF8&psc=1

lastly, some turtle wax spray for cleaning/protecting

You're saying the blemishes are the ceramic coat that got on the trim? Ooof. Typically the only thing you can do to remove a ceramic coat is abrasion/polishing. About the only safe thing I would suggest is this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VCV4OQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They work perfect for getting dried wax off of trim, so I can vouch that it will be safe (and is "abrasive"), but won't scratch your trim. I've used this on the CX5's wheel arches before without issue.

If that doesn't work, I'd ask for some advice from r/AutoDetailing before doing *anything* drastic, they'll set you straight.

Yeah got these on Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XMH91B7/ref=cm_sw_r_fm_apa_i_4uQ3DbR9T3SX8

Hopefully they'll perform at least as well as the stock brake system, guess we'll see

I have this. Was $14 when I purchased. Easy to lock and unlock the phone from the mount. I’ve switched to using the infinity knob and screen with CarPlay for 95% of the control hence why I’m okay with the phone down near the cup holder.

If you don’t have CarPlay or android play and want to control using the phone touch screen this version is not for you. They do make one with the longer arm though.

This is going to sound insane but if you head over to r/autodetailing you will see that one of the best things to get wax off plastics if peanut oil. Real peanut oil. It will work. I would follow it up with some kind of VRP (vinyl, rubber, plastic) cleaner/protectant such as Chemical Guys VRP

Don't scrape it/rub it with anything abrastive or you'll mar the plastic and it will always look streaky.

This works perfectly for my 2016. I haven't seen anything about being able to replace the rubber insert on the rear blade.

u/cmnthom · 1 pointr/CX5

I use this, affixed with this on the left of the panel with the BSM, TPMS, TCS etc controls, which is between driver door and steering wheel. You may have more options than I, and thus more buttons. But I like this setup because it's conspicuous.

I got a trunk tie-down from amazon a few years ago. I haven't used it yet, but it should do what you're looking for.

Also, there are tie downs in the back of the car. There should be two near the seats, and two near the hatch.
