    1. I'd wait on the jackets because he will grow.
    1. Crate helped me a TON in house breaking my 2 year old chi who was not previous trained. Honestly seemed impossible otherwise.
    1. Why would you be worried about the ears?! I love my chi's super pointy ears.
    1. Mine was not a puppy when I got her. Not entirely sure here.
    1. You might be able to fit him into an extra small by using the adjustments.
    1. Not sure here. Mine barks like crazy at new people but once she knows you, she is such a lover. Perhaps if I had gotten her as a puppy she may have gotten used to new people coming and going. I guess I would suggest introducing your pup to new people on a regular basis.
    1. Of course! [Here] (http://imgur.com/a/ZN9Z1) she is! She's dear headed and her name is Minnie. My sister had run an animal rescue for years and years and I was going through a tough time so I thought I would help an animal (and myself!) and foster one. She helped me through a really tough time and there's no way I could give her up after that. They call it "foster failure" haha. She is really smart but it took a lot of hard work for me to teach her what she knows because I got her when she was already about 2 years old. She is endlessly entertaining and [here] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdD32KZb438) is a video of her getting REALLY excited over her favorite treat, "bacon" (it's not bacon... it's these chicken jerky strip things meant for dogs). She doesn't really play with toys so I only have a few for her. She has a crate with a soft pad, a doggy bed (actually a kitty bed because it was cheaper.. shhh don't tell her!), and a blanket which she sleep on every night in my bed. Also food/water dishes of course and a retractable leash as well as a harness and regular leash. She also has a lot of outfits which is totally my sisters fault haha. Overall she is pretty well behaved but she has a tough time with new people. She very well may have been neglected and/or abused before my sister and then I eventually rescued her. I love her SO much!

You won't mess up as long as you love, care for, and dedicate time to your dog and give her the forever home that he/she deserves. Those things aren't hard at all IMO!

Also, my friend makes collars, leashes, harnesses etc. Check out her [Etsy] (https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShihPooLover) shop. She might be able to make an itty bitty one custom for you! She doesn't have a lot of photos of the harnesses (she has a ton of collars though) but I know she does make them so just send her a message if you're interested.

Oh and for house breaking your pup, make sure to buy something like [this] (http://www.amazon.com/All-Absorb-Count-Training-22-Inch-23-Inch/dp/B00EI673B6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409385024&sr=8-1&keywords=puppy+pad). Any brand should be fine.

Blue buffalo mini bars. They're relatively low calorie and have a good crunch. Made with good ingredients. My baby loves them. They're also incredibly inexpensive on amazon. I'd try the chicken and cheddar kind though she likes them all. For $4 you get around 50 of them. Very good deal compared to locally where heyer $8 and hard to find.

BLUE Mini Bars Chicken & Cheddar Biscuit Dog Treats 8-oz

For special Chewies I cut these into strips but I have to hold them so she doesn't try to swallow the whole thing. These are good for the teeth but again you have to hold on to them as they're a potential choking hazard if you just let your baby go to town. I just use scissors to cut each one into three long strips. It works out to be a nice bonding time for us. I hold. She chews. She puts her paw on my hand to direct me where to hold.

6-inch Joint Jerky Dog Treats by Best Bully Sticks (25 Pack) All Natural Beef Dog Treats

I have gone through a ton of research on what's good and bad. The joint chews don't sit in the digestive track like the Hyde chews. The blue buffalo mini bars are some of the higher quality name brand treats with a good nutritional balance for treats. After decades buying dog treats these two really stand out for me.

I'll ask my wife later. I don't known where specifically she got them, but it was pretty funny when she got the hat, because instead of 1 they sent her a multicolored pack of 5!

EDIT

Here's the link... http://www.amazon.com/Popular-Featured-Raspberry-Striped-Poncho/dp/B003CIYIIW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367969449&sr=8-1&keywords=dog+mexican+costume+raspberry.

Daddy just found out this cost a little more than he thought... but that's okay cause we got great pictures and we don't "dress up" Penny except when she needs a sweater. This was a special occasion.

OK the only luck I've had so far is the Holee Roller in the smallest size they sell (Mini)

There's a couple of spray/foam products available on Amazon that seem to work pretty well if you use them daily. You can also buy a doggie toothbrush that fits on your finger which is often easier than trying to shove a handled tooth brush in your dogs mouth.

If you're very confident, and careful, you can buy a tartar scraper to try and chip off any thick tartar built up.

I bought a simple sling for my four pound Pepe and stitched it up so that the bottom was closer to my belly rather than my hip. I think Pepe liked being snug and secure in it but prefers being able to walk around rather than in a sling, so I never use it any more. I'd ship it to you if you're interested, totally clean and just sitting in my closet. I think it even has a leash clip in case someone tries to make an escape.

My sister bought this toy: https://www.amazon.com/Outward-Hound-Blocks-Spinner-Interactive/dp/B00E0JJ96I/ref=sr_1_25?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1473813456&sr=1-25&keywords=dog+treat+toy+puzzle

for her rat terrier, but she couldn't figure it out. So she gave it to me for my chihuahua! She loved it! It was really easy for her to claw the boxes out of the way (although the video shows bigger dogs) and since everything is hidden under the boxes, it allows you to hide any size treat.

We had to stop using it after getting a second dog, mostly because he couldn't figure it out and she would end up with all the treats. Then they started fighting over it.

I liked it a lot, but I think it might depend on your dog (since my sister didn't like it)

I've been using this one with my chihuahua, and it works great!

You can choose the size of the opening, which is great for small kibble and my chi just has a blast pouncing on it and batting it around.

Worth a shot! It's a lot safer too as you can visually see when you're coming close to the quick. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TU0XG4

Halo is the perfect size for my three pound monster.

You're welcome! I also bought this K&H Pet Products Self-Warming Crate Pad Medium Mocha 21" x 31" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ZYF1QQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_eVW6CbZSQEG6R

Hello ckim19,

I recently used Angel Eyes on our Chi, and it produced some great results in time they went away completely. I wouldn't recommend a pet being on this full time, but using it every once in a while works for our dog. Every time her tear stains end up being a little lighter (although while on the supplement, they almost vanish completely).

It's the XS size of this one. I've had it for over a year now and has held up really well. My Sansa is 5 lbs now but she was 3.5-4lbs when I originally purchased it.

The Puppia harness should work well for you. I also have one of this style but bought it cheaply off eBay because I just wanted a backup cheapie.

I walk my girl in a Ruffwear but all of theirs are overhead styles.
