Not all of these are in our core training/ required knowledge, or related to our day to day functions as a university A/V department, but They are all available to my team for knowledge building and professional development. Additionally , and our job ladder includes Infocomm certifications, so the library is a little biased towards infocomm resources at the moment.

I have the Ideal VDV IInpro and love it. Does everything you mentioned and I love how I can tone specific pairs and even verify the pairs by shorting the pairs will change the tone.

We are interested in seeing what we would need to improve our setup, whether or not that is a complete redesign. Cable channel is SD and I don't think they will be upgrading anytime soon. We are looking into getting a Video Capture device so we can plug into a computer during the meetings. I don't think this is an end-all solution though. Thanks for the advice!

We actually had a similar problem with a 15x45. We bought a shark handheld steamer. The kind that is made to clean tile and has a terry cloth rag. This works really well just make sure you do long smooth sweeps. The steam loosens everything and the rag pulls it off. We have since used it on all our screens when they need cleaning. It takes time you have to slowly go over the whole screen and you have to rinse out the terry cloth rag a lot. But it works and works well.

I'd try using two MXL AC404's first, it is a surprisingly good microphone for $65. It may be all you need.

I only see that Crestron box going up to 1920x1200.

Actually, this Black Box claimes to support up to 2560x1600 over Displayport.
So...

I don't know which display you have. AND I've got a question. You said 15" Macbook Retina, correct? Don't they have two Thunderbolts and an HDMI?

If it has two Thunderbolts, try this:

Get the above Black Box. Get a Thunderbolt to Displayport cable. Plug said cable into Black Box. Plug an HDMI cable into the output of the Black Box into the display. Set output resolution to 1080p. Done? Think that'll work.

Alternatively, you might be able to daisy chain through the Cinema Display, assuming it is a Thunderbolt, using the same cable and box.

"The product only works on certain types of carpet; these types are Berber and Loop style carpets. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK ON CUT PILE CARPETS"

thats weird, maybe some kind of unmatching with the old switcher BNC and the HDMI converter RCA... have your tried with a rca to s-video adapter and using that port instead of BNC?

Im 99% sure you have but, have you tried different resolutions on the laptop?

I keep buying the Sortimo Bosch cases. I have a few Lboxx1's and 2's. I haven't had the need to buy the wheelie cart yet.

What theloniusx says is correct. We've used these HDMI baluns plenty of times with no problems, they aren't hdbaset but same difference.

As for the system, Atlona makes some fairly cheap switchers. We've used their stuff and while I wouldnt install it in critical applications it works well enough. Needs to be unplugged occasionally and have the firmware updated. This would do most of what you need (2 HDMI inputs and 1 VGA). You'd need an Ethernet cable and one of their hdbaset receivers as well. http://atlona.com/product/at-hdvs-150-tx/

It doesn't do passthrough, but http://amzn.to/1pp6A3N has a few more ports if you need it. Some clown decided my conference room tables only needed one drop, so I've used some of these to add ports so that people can connect.
