I actually got one of these Roadster dash pad things.

I know some people love solid mounts and all, but I find that the slots that keep it vertical fit very well and keep it snug. Then again not everyone's car has a nice flat area, so it may not be for everyone.

I am also looking for a generic desk dock, and I have been eyeing these cheap ones on ebay:

They seem sufficient for desk/nightstand use.

Are you talking about something like this or this? It's for 'ipod/iphone', but I use some headphones that are labeled as iphone remote headphones (these) and the button/mic work fine with the S3. They're pretty cheap so it might be worth a shot

That's the band I use. Very soft, long velcro strap, great at keeping the phone secure. Pretty much everything you look for.

The cheap way is a 3.5mm to RCA cable.

A fancier option would be a bluetooth audio reciever, though I don't know too much about these, having never used one personally. This would be used in conjuction with a 3.5mm female to RCA stereo adapter cable, which is in the "Frequently Bought Together" section

Also, if you have an X-Box, PS3, or other DLNA-compatible device connected to your stereo, you can use Media Server to stream music files from your phone. However, this will not work with streaming services like Pandora or Google Play Music.

In that case, here is another solution:

If you plug in your mouse, it will allow you to control the phone with your mouse. With it, you can unlock your phone and transfer files!

This is an option for you. It'll give you a full charge and some change.

Case-Mate, and I've been incredibly happy with it. There are some different color options, but the case is thin (I had one before that was very bulky, I hated it) and has a good grip around the edges. The item linked is kind of high at $35; you can find other colors or sellers with the case for ~$22 or so.

Thanks! I have these Sony DR-BT50 over the head cups. And they're great, but a little bulky for lying in bed.
