I had a nest for the longest time until it got unreliable. I switched to the GoControl z wave thermostat and have been very happy. Doesn’t look quite as good on the wall, but it does everything I could want it to do. The thermostat itself doesn’t have many features, but that’s where HomeSeer comes in.

Thanks for the clarification. Since I have a backup of my Zee S2 Config and a backup of my zwave controller, if my SD card failed like yours did, I should be able to restore to a new one?
Would suggest keeping something like as a spare SD Card?

I mean, I'm all for home automation, but turning something on and off with a set schedule, while doable, is a bit overkill for your only bit of automation...
If you're using this as a baby-step into something larger, HomeSeer has a QuickStart Guide (PDF) on their website. It's for the Windows version, but some of the later steps are probably applicable.
