I had a nest for the longest time until it got unreliable. I switched to the GoControl z wave thermostat and have been very happy. Doesn’t look quite as good on the wall, but it does everything I could want it to do. The thermostat itself doesn’t have many features, but that’s where HomeSeer comes in.

Thanks for the clarification. Since I have a backup of my Zee S2 Config and a backup of my zwave controller, if my SD card failed like yours did, I should be able to restore to a new one?

Would suggest keeping something like as a spare SD Card?

You're just in time to get ready to upgrade to HS4!

Joking aside....

  • You'll need a controllable outlet, something like this to plug the humidifier into.

  • You'll need to plug in your HS3 hub, and I'd suggest downloading the Homeseer app from your App Store of choice.

  • Then you'd need to pair the Outlet with your hub... I don't see a way to do this via the app (in HS3, at least?), but you can do it through the Web interface for your hub, or the Z-Tool+ app.

  • Then you could setup events to turn it on and off at set times of day...

However... you could replace all this with a simple mechanical timer for under $20....

    ---
I mean, I'm all for home automation, but turning something on and off with a set schedule, while doable, is a bit overkill for your only bit of automation...

If you're using this as a baby-step into something larger, HomeSeer has a QuickStart Guide (PDF) on their website. It's for the Windows version, but some of the later steps are probably applicable.
