I have had mine for 14 years, put over 200k miles on it.. It's a great car.. I also have a 5spd... I found these mods pretty solid choices.

Figs makes a bunch of great things, caliper adapters kits.. I recommend this.. I have replaced my stock calipers maybe 2 times since ive owned the car..

Its a fun car, its not really that fast these days, but feels nimble easy to drive fun to toss around and a great deal cost wise.

Turbos... Well thats a longer post.. thats really covered on plenty of forums.. my.is is a good one to start with..

B&M 70268 SuperCooler Automatic Transmission Cooler https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CIGE9G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jIA2DbDHCNM3R

That looks to be the exact one I have, its uses 3/8 barb fittings for the feed and return hoses which is what Lexus uses so it works perfect. It comes with 3/8 hosing as well but I got some extra just in case but I don't believe you have too as what they give you should be enough. I don't have any pictures but I used the brackets that come with it and just some basic nuts/bolts/washers to kinda secure it in place along with some zip ties. I have it mounted off to the lower passenger side in front of the radiator with the fittings facing towards the passenger side. I run the hoses up through a hole between the frame and the bottom passenger side of the radiator and then wrapped some fabric around the hoses so they dont rub against the frame where they pass through that hole. I can walk you through the install if you want. It really wasn't hard. The hard lines for the feed and return are just behind the radiator so that made it SUPER easy to just run the hoses up through the hole and to the cooler. Just make sure you have the return hose fitted to the bottom fitting of the cooler so gravity helps insure you always have oil returning. You can get a bigger cooler too if you want but having a 3/8 barbed fitting on the cooler makes the install painless. My set up isnt pretty, I'm sure you could make it look good if you tried but I care how it works more than how looks.

Did mine a couple of days ago actually! That crank bolt will be a pain... do yourself a favor and get one of the schley holders, two hefty breaker bars, and the longest iron bar you can get your hands on (I used the handle for my jack). I seriously can't recommend this tool enough (if the bolts don't want to go in spray the holes with cleaner may be caked in oil like mine was).

If you can also do your front seals and check for leaks in the vvti gear.

Best of luck!

I believe these are what I'm running. They're great, name brand, no leaks, and fit perfectly.

My 01 did this to me but was also misfiring too. I ended up replacing oil control filter valve and the variable valve timing solenoid.

It's a super easy diy job and parts were ~$80.

Essentially, my variable valve timing was off because either the filter was blocked or the solenoid failed. This cause the misfires and the engine and traction light.

These are the parts I bought (you'd have to verify they fit your 02)

If you’re just looking for an aux connection for the stock stereo, I use this and then I got one of these to add Bluetooth connectivity. Cheap, easy to install, and sounds great. There are other versions of the Grom adapter that have USB connection and built-in Bluetooth too.

That does sound like an alternator. Not a difficult fix if you take the fan shroud off. Get a new Denso they’re not that expensive on rockauto. I used this voltmeter in the car to verify my alternator wasn’t consistently putting out 14v : 3-in-1 Cigarette Lighter Car Mount + Voltage Detector, SOAIY Car Mount Holder Cradle w/Dual USB 3.1A, Display Voltage Current Compatible with iPhoneXS XS Max XR X 8 7 6s 6 5s Samsung S8 S7 S6 S5 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017N7N0TA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_XQgUDb42QB4VW

That really sucks! Mice did the same thing to mine a few months ago, they love the top of the valve cover. I ended up getting some of these coil connectors and replaced the broken ones. May as well do the plugs, wires, and valve cover gasket too!

I have used the [aisin](http://www.Aisin.com/ TKT-031 Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008EEYWXA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_fmY0DbQRSD3CP) kit for 4 cars including my is300, a gs 300, 80 series and 100 series land cruiser. Never had a problem with any one them and they use OE parts

This little guy right here. Fits snugly where your license plate light goes, and the bulb itself fits in the window the camera has. It connects to the A/V in on an aftermarket radio or screen. Seems OEM to me and costs less than $15.

It’s been on my ‘01 IS for about 6 months in rain and heat and hasn’t given me any problems yet. The winter and snow will be a true test, though.

u/623fer · 2 pointsr/IS300

I used these and these for the gauges. You'll have plenty left over if you buy these specific ones.
