I was thinking about something that plugs in to the cigarette adapter with a flex neck like this:

That does sound like an alternator. Not a difficult fix if you take the fan shroud off. Get a new Denso they’re not that expensive on rockauto. Just my two cents, I had this same holder in my '16 and didn't care for how it blocked a large part of my touchscreen head unit. I'm looking for a new phone mount as well.

I would probably use the first one and stick it in front of the top display because the larger touchscreen has my backup cam, and I've found I rarely look at the top lil display. I like where that sits because it's within my eyesight while driving and I would prefer that so I wouldn't have to take my eyes off the road.
The bottom one, I like how that would be adjustable and sit probalby just below the temperature controls, and would be able to plug it in while using the phone.
Probalby gonna order both and send back whatever I don't like.
