To add some more context, you are basically talking about a dehumidifier. These have been around as a commercial appliance for decades and you can bet that the designs are quite well optimized at this point. Your basic calcs should back that idea up.

As one example of a small but efficient unit meant for home use,
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CEZA018
This is rated to remove (or produce depending on your view point) a maximum of about 33 liters of water per day. That will of course depend on the humidity and temperature of its surroundings, approaching zero in arid locales. The average human needs about 2 liters of water a day to survive.

To accomplish this, it requires 720 Watts of power (or about 1 horsepower). This is partially to run fans to provide the massive throughput of air volume I mentioned earlier, and partially to run a compressor for a refrigeration system. Adding refrigeration means you can reduce your 'exhaust' temperature and extract essentially all of the water present in the air.

So again, this is something that is definitely possible, but requires on the order of 10-100W of power. Workable for a stationary unit plugged into the wall, borderline feasible for stationary 'off the grid' applications, and all but impossible for portable units.

The first rule of invention: "Thermodynamics is a cruel mistress".

Weed whips run at anywhere from idle at around 3,000rpm and run at 8,000-10,000+ RPM (with load)

Now keep in mind these next specs for the cordless drills are speeds without load.

Milwaukee Cordless 18v Drill 2250rpm - $130.00 (bare tool) + $60 for a battery ($190)
Fein ASCM 18 C 4 speed Drill 18v - 3850rpm -$437.50 on Amazon. (with 5Ah battery)

Where for $279.99 you could just buy a super nice weed whip

I understand that this invention would be based around the fact that you would already own the drill. However, I am pointing out the difference in RPMs for the cost. The kind of person intested in this invention probably has a black & decker or craftsman drill and will not reach more than 2,000 rpm without a load.

I HATE cleaning the toilet so I was thinking of ways to make it easier. This is my first attempt at solving that issue.

I remember when I played basketball in high school, we had a sticky board/mat in front of the scorer's table where we would wipe our feet before checking into the game. When the sticky mat got too dirty, you simply peeled off a layer and had a fresh pad to wipe your feet on. So I thought, why not apply that idea to a toilet bowl? The main problem I already see is the sheer number of available toilets and sizes and I need to find a way to have the sticky pad cover the inside of the bowl as well, not just the top. But hey, it's a first run!

If you zoom in on the picture, you'll see in the top right corner a number 1. There are 30 layers on this pad so even if you ripped off one pad every week, you wouldn't have to clean your toilet for over 6 months!

These are actually designed as a way to wipe your feet off when entering a clean room but they work well for my application. I bought them because they were cheaper than the ones for basketball and I could potentially get 4 trials out of 2 packs since they are so long.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

This already exists in manual form. I bought some for my autistic son to use, hoping to improve is oral hygiene. The design isn't very effective, unfortunately. Sorry you haven't been successful.

It’s hard to improve on this:

I know the drawing is crap... pedals would be braced to stop lid from slamming, and hold in place until depressed/stepped on again. I've seen built in versions in hospitals and such, but no attachment like this..

Ok, someone has made something like it, but not exactly like I was thinking.

This book ought to point you in the right direction.

I haven't applied for a patent yet so I won't post my own designs, but let's say it's pretty similar to this product: http://www.amazon.com/Piece-STYLE-Tobacco-Pollen-Grinder/dp/B0023X32MA/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=1-1&keywords=herb+grinder

Made of aluminum, almost all of them are anodized, and many of them are colored. Prices range from as cheap as this one (around $5) to $60+. Are they all CNC'd? How can they sell them for so cheap if that's the case? Are the ones that are die cast not anodized?
