I had a lot of fun playing a knockoff version of Hedbandz back in college. Never played Dream Date but I found this on Amazon:

Have you just tried the toothpaste/compounds?
You need to actually sand them down progressively with something like this. Then hit it with a polishing compound, and then a UV protective coating.
