I know you are trying to not use your phone altogether, but I have found a nice alternative that works well for me.

I use the photive PH-BTE70 bluetooth headphones with my galaxy S6.

I love them! Great sound and functionality. They are comfortable and stay put once you adjust the ear hooks properly. I also love that they come with a little clip that you can put at the center of the cord to clip them to your shirt at the back of your neck so they stay put if you only have one in. Only drawback is that the connection can be kind of iffy when the phone is close to the body, especially on the left side of your body.

For my phone I use a running belt. It slips right in and I put it to my back and hardly notice it. It is much better than using armbands or pockets. The one I use also has LED illumination for night runs. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WJ9PKO6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01

I was fortunate enough to get my band early on, and it did indeed come with a screen protector and SB gift card. However, it appears they've dropped that promo. My original band ended up having a USB problem (would charge, but not connect) and I went in to exchange it. My original screen protector was pretty beat up, and then just gave me a free one. The didn't have a band in stock to exchange, so I had to wait to get my problem resolved.

I went in last week, and was able to exchange my faulty band with a new band. However, they didn't have any protectors to provide me.

I ordered the Armorsuit on Amazon that has the Carbon Fiber additional protection (http://www.amazon.com/ArmorSuit-MilitaryShield-Anti-Bubble-Responsive-Replacements/dp/B00P1ZLN3M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1427395089&sr=8-2&keywords=armorsuit+microsoft+band).

The product is great.

Having experienced both, I wouldn't even bother with the Zaag that Microsoft was providing. It was pretty poor comparatively speaking. It started peeling away at the edges pretty quickly. The Armorsuit has been staying strong.

In additional, I would DEFINITELY not go without one.

They might have one at the store they can provide. However, now that I've had both. I would use that as a temporary, until I could replace with the armorsuit.

Samsung's latest Gear Fit 2 (http://amzn.to/28ZyEUk) has a curved screen. However, not sure if you noticed, Panos' Band also appears to have a pop-out screen. Looks like you might be able to swap straps.

I order one off Amazon. It's the same brand but is about 13$USD. The picture is different, but I assume its the same from the description. I should be getting one by next week.

My steps have been accurate in comparing with my Fuel Band.

This is the protector I got.

Hey - just saw this. I've got a couple of ideas - if you have a multimeter, you can play around with checking the voltages on the pins to see if you're getting any readings (to see if the charger cable is broken). Although I couldn't find any specs quickly on which pins to actually check. Also, I'm not sure how much you're willing to dump more money into it, but you could try buying a new charge cable?
