Oh, it comes with integrated audio so you don't need headphones, however, for private viewing you can use anything really. Get a nice pair of over-ear headphones so you get that extra oomph since it's like watching a movie in a theatre it's nice to have sound that matches.
I use these. They're on sale now too if you're interested.
If media is what you're excited about then this is going to blow your mind. Even the games are pretty good on this at only 3 dof too.
That one looks like a good one, but I personally haven't tried it. If I was buying now... I would probably buy the Ipega 9062-S, but the one I own is iPega Black Wireless Bluetooth Controller for Android Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 S3 I9300 PC Smart Phone https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GNXMXA8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_RsJQBbYFE1ZDB
The Moga Pro Power says currently not available, but is is easily the best phone gamepad I have tried.
Thanks for the feedback. Added the OUYA controller, with a comment about button mappings.
Are you sure you're using a proper OTG adapter, like this or this? And are you sure that the USB cable you're using with the PS3 controller is functional/compatible?
You may very well be right that the DualShock controllers don't work in USB mode, but I'm a little surprised since we had a couple of DualShock 3 success reports for the Gear VR (again, when connected via USB).
Don't buy Duracell, there have been a lot of problems with them leaking lately:
Only Energizers are guaranteed not to leak:
However, I think you stop buying disposable batteries to save the planet from the Great Filter, and get rechargeables instead. I recommend you get these ones (make sure your battery specifications match the packaging in this photo):
Get this package first to get the highest quality charger on the market:
You need that charger to get the full life out of Eneloops. If you take care of them, Eneloops will last at least a decade, maybe longer.
I also scratched slightly the center of the lense of my GO and I insisted Oculus support to have support because their protection for glasses are insufficient (or the recommendations to protect glasses). And also on the fact that they do not provide glasses protection. So no support in warranty. We must fend for ourselves. I have on my side put a protective film for smartphone cut (two circles). There are also round watch protections https://www.amazon.fr/Montres-Circulaire-Diam%C3%A8tre-Protection-Protecteur/dp/B00H48H64E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1527790047&sr=8-1&keywords=film+protection+montre . preferably thin films because the glasses are curved
There’s an electronic gadget you wear on your wrist called a Relief Band. They sell it on Amazon and private pilot shops. Prevents nausea without drugs. Here's the Amazon link, there are also other models and at least one other brand. https://smile.amazon.com/Reliefband-1-5-Motion-Morning-Sickness/dp/B00PG4NUOS/
Edited to add link.
Up to you, Its like a hard disk, after 2 years its; "Russian roulette" Amount of surges have an affect and that would be wearing it down... How many lightning strikes has it gotten you through in that time?

The other thing to note; check the warranty in advance, if they warranty surge protection for five years, bonus!

I use this thing;
https://www.amazon.com.au/Anker-10-Port-Charger-Powerport-iPhone/dp/B00YRYKEYM/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1549869575&sr=8-6&keywords=anker+powerport+wall+charger
It's has a separate user replaceable fuse located in it's ac adapter.
Yes, a simple otg cable with a splitter. I just tried it, it works.
I don't have the exact product link but it looks something like this
Just make sure that the female micro usb port (where power comes from) is powering the host device (male micro usb), not just the attached slave device (regular usb female port), there are 2 types.
Hi there. Do you mean your TV is also HDMI? If so, I recommend using the adapter with the TV instead of the Rift. We've seen success with this one: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Gold-Plated-DisplayPort-Adapter/dp/B00K0UDYLM/
Don’t make this too complicated. Anker works fine. I can confirm this is a decent quality 10ft cable

Avatar does exist in 3D. Amazon sells the BluRay, but there are of course other more nefarious methods of obtaining it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Avatar-Blu-Ray-3D-Dvd-Ltd/dp/B008U5T4YK/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1526580613&sr=1-2&keywords=avatar+3D
If you'd prefer something a bit less bulky & a lot more stylish,
I got THIS from Amazon: it's only $20.
I have one of these: https://www.amazon.com/MVAP-6832-Glass-Universal-Display/dp/B00XQH8Y9I
You can buy an analogue battery tester very cheap on amazon - I keep one next to my alkaline battery pile for just this reason. Also there’s still loads of energy left in ‘dead’ batteries - make a joule thief night light to use them up before recycling.
Just two examples, do your own research folks, this is the internet.

You can probably remove the scratches with this stuff. Works for a lot of people. Fixed a pretty nasty scratch on mine.
We have very different definitions of cheap.
This one is much more my speed. I would not trust any of them if Amazon did not have such a good return policy.
It could be that there's a larger than expected variance in silicon quality for the Snapdragon 821 SoC that the Go uses, this somehow wasn't caught in quality control, and thus some Go units end up very prone to overheating. Basically the same phenomenon that happens with game consoles where some people's PS4's/Xbones sound like a jet engine when under heavy load, while other people's systems are normal or even very quiet. While the chip inside is the same design, differences in the quality of the exact piece of material used to produce them causes their thermal characteristics to vary and require different amounts of cooling.
Insufficient contant or bad thermal conductivity between the heatpipe and the front plate or whichever chips it's connected to on the other end could also be a culprit, although I'm not sure that replacing the thermal pad the Go uses with thermal paste is actually a good idea. Thermal pads are used instead of paste in many places for a reason, and it's not cost. Paste, due to being more liquidy, will eventually leak out from between the cooler and die or whatever it's connected to due to the materials expanding and shrinking at different rates. This is called the pump out effect. Plus, unlike a lot of electronics, the Go is moved around a lot which could further cause thermal paste to leak out after a while. So while thermal paste could help, try it only if you have the patience to re-open your Go and either re-apply the thermal paste after a while or switch back to the thermal pad.
Whatever the actual problem is, someone fucked up somewhere and I'd consider any Go that overheats during normal usage to be defective.
If you can't or don't want to return yours, you could try attaching a small 40mm or 80mm USB-powered fan to the front of the Go to provide some airflow. Props to this guy for coming up with the method. He used double-sided tape to attach some 3x8mm magnets to the front of the Go to make the fan easily detachable. The fan needs power from a full-sized USB port so you'd need a power bank to use it. But with the increased cooling, if you used a power bank with two USB outputs, you'd probably be able to charge/run off of the power bank and get an increased amount of play time out of the headset.
P.S. I don't actually have a Go yet so I haven't tested the aforementioned cooling system myself. Just unloading some info I've found while researching the Go and possible solutions to issues I might run into when I get one.
