AFAIK, Linux magazines, such as Linux Format, still include a bootable DVD in each issue, which contains various Linux distributions, utilities and documentation.
Boot your computer with the live DVD, download the Solus ISO and then use dd to write the Solus ISO to a USB drive (directions are in the Solus Help Center: https://solus-project.com/articles/installation/preparing-to-install/en/).
If you are particularly brave (caution: chance of malware), you can purchase USB drives pre-loaded with Linux, from Amazon, ebay and some various distributions, themselves. The HDMI 2.0 (I know yours should be 2.0b but that doesn’t affect frame rates) standard maxes out at 4K 60Hz, so it might be pushing the limit of the HDMI controller, the Linux driver, or the cable. The monitors and graphics chip are almost certainly designed to handle it no problem.
They make display port splitters like this if you can’t find another solution.

I stopped fighting with that chipset a long time ago. I bought this wifi adapter: Panda N600 Dual Band (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz) 300Mbps Wireless N USB Adapter - Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10, Mint, Ubuntu, openSUSE, Fedora, CentOS, Zorin, Kali Linux and Raspbian Jessie https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U2SIS0O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Q--0AbAPS75TB and it's working perfectly. I get 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi, and not having to mess with drivers. As far as the monitor, look under displays in settings, and see if you have either advanced or a place to change the frequency. I did, but I had to limit my monitor to 60 Hz due to an issue with the monitor.
I've used Panda wireless adapters in the past with Ubuntu and they've worked well. Never tried it with Solus, but one would assume it should work the same.
