Panda makes USB wifi adapters that are known for great cross-distro support. I've been using the N600 model for the last year with no issues. It was literally plug-and-play on Fedora 27/28.

This Panda model also works out of the box with every distro I have tried (Fedora, Ubuntu, Manjaro, Arch).

Panda Wireless PAU07 works on Air's from 2015, not sure about 2017.

I just bought one of these Panda dongles . According to my research it was the most advanced dongle that would definately 'just work' on Linux. I'm really happy with it. But I also look forward to the day when we have AC options.

This works OOTB under Linux. I have had no issue with Panda's products on my Raspberry Pi (I use a PAU06 for that)
