Read about Lynn's books here on her Amazon Author page -- she's promoting Family Don't End With Blood right now. Book summary:

>How a Show, and the Support of Its Fandom, Changed—and Saved—Lives

>Supernatural, a three-time People’s Choice Award winner for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show and Tumblr’s 2015 Most Reblogged “Live Action TV,” has made a name for itself by supporting and encouraging its fans to “always keep fighting,” and a memorable line from early in the show’s run, “Family don’t end with blood,” became an inspiring mantra for many who found community in the fandom.

>In 25 powerful chapters written by Supernatural’s actors and fans, including series lead Jared Padalecki, plus special messages from Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, and Mark Sheppard, Family Don’t End with Blood: Cast and Fans On How Supernatural Has Changed Lives examines the far reach of the show’s impact for more than a decade. Supernatural has inspired fans to change their lives, from getting “sober for Sam” to escaping a cult to pursuing life-long dreams. But fans aren’t the only ones who have been changed. The actors who bring the show to life have also found, in the show and its community, inspiration, courage, and the strength to keep going when life seemed too hard.

>Including essays and special messages from Supernatural ’s cast:

>Jared Padelecki (“Sam Winchester”)

>Jensen Ackles (“Dean Winchester”)

>Misha Collins (“Castiel”)

>Mark Sheppard (“Crowley”)

>Jim Beaver (“Bobby Singer”)

>Ruth Connell (“Rowena MacLeod”)

>Osric Chau (“Kevin Tran”)

>Rob Benedict (“Chuck Shurley aka God”)

>Kim Rhodes (“Sheriff Jody Mills”)

>Briana Buckmaster (“Sheriff Donna Hanscum”)

>Matt Cohen (“Young John Winchester”)

>Gil McKinney (“Henry Winchester”)

>Rachel Miner (“Meg Masters”)

>Collected and edited by Lynn S. Zubernis, a clinical psychologist, professor, and passionate Supernatural fangirl, Family Don’t End with Blood provides an insightful and often uplifting look into the way international fan communities become powerful, positive forces in the lives of so many.

>In keeping with the show’s message to “always keep fighting,” a portion of the proceeds from the book will be donated to RANDOM ACTS, a nonprofit founded by Misha Collins, and AT TITUDES IN REVERSE, whose mission is to educate young people about mental health and suicide prevention.

>I wear a necklace with the sigil of Lucifer on it.

Is this it?: http://www.maureencenten.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/2015-02-20-12.40.20-e1455633813899.jpg

Yeah I've always been fascinated with Lucifer. Despite what certain types of people would say, it is possible to love Lucifer without being a Satanist... or a psychopath. Most 'Satanism' nowadays doesn't actually believe in Lucifer as an actual being. He's more of a symbol of free will, like you said. For example: https://www.amazon.ca/Bible-Adversary-Written-Publisher-Paperback/dp/B007S6ECCQ/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1493088483&sr=1-3&keywords=the+bible+of+the+adversary (doesn't have a Look Inside so...)

>I really want to see Mark Pellegrino become a series regular

So do I but I don't think he would have ever been working with Sam and Dean. Too much bad blood already as of season 7 onwards. What he really needs is to better understand humanity and free will, learn to tolerate us, switch sides and represent free will in his own way. Chances are this wouldn't happen on the main show but spn could set the groundwork and spin Lucifer out into his own show with Haven, Hell, Chuck and Amara as well as more craziness.

>Mark even said at SeaCon that "having read the finale episode...you guys are gonna HATE me"

I'm hoping this is an exaggeration and the person he kills is Crowley and Miscellaneous side characters. If its not they could have some type of spell happen or a Hand of God gone wrong knock him back to his Pre Fall/Darkness state of mind with current memories. He is horrified and proceeds to try to prove to himself and everyone else that he was once good and can be again.

Off on another tangent if you like a Lucifer that is the embodiment of free will: http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Lucifer_Morningstar_(New_Earth)

People that know about him would say he's better... and he is in a lot of ways. He's also insanely powerful. But I, as insane as it may be prefer spn Lucifer. He's a lot more human where as comic Lucifer is a force of nature that pretty much nothing can even scratch bar god and one specific circumstance.

Supernatural Lucifer is awesome and the Show can do so much more with him. The season Finale is Lucifer centric so hopefully they don't destroy him.

A large majority of my understanding of grammar in English is based on me learning it in Latin first. The way that my Latin teacher runs his class is really great and has made the subject very fun for me.

I started out with this book, but because my Latin teacher picked me to represent our class at State Literary Rally, I finished that book even though I wasn't supposed to until the end of our Latin II class. Now, I am working in this book. I don't really need any help with anything now, but I'll be sure to save your name and PM you if I do.

Thanks for all the info, you've been very helpful. Vale, amice!

That randomly reminded me of something -- Don't know if you've seen the BBC/HBO series Rome (if you haven't, it's remarkable), but Kevin McKidd was in a cult film you might enjoy: Dog Soldiers.

It got a little mangled in editing (apparently it ran massively long in the first cut) but it was a very cool revisiting of zero-cgi (IIRC the moon in one shot is the only digital effect) monster/horror techniques with dancers on stilts and animatronic wolf heads. I think any Supernatural fan would loooove it.

I actually used to have that Richie Sambora tape.

Edit: The CD is $4.99 on Amazon and it's Autorip (meaning instant free mp3 download).

A couple of things I've found:

(Album-2001) "You Don't Have To Be Blood To Be Family" by Throwdown
(Quote-1977) "The bond that links your true family is not one of blood,..." by Richard Bach in Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah
(Sermon-1994) "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" by R. Richard Pustelniak in "How Shall I Know?" The Blood Covenant

I'm not finding anything with the specific phrase "Family don't end with blood" or "Family doesn't end with blood" before its use on Supernatural. But the concept of "extended" family not related by blood has been out there for a long time.
