Anchor Books
Dave (or whoever edits the story script) could easily write natural stopping points to allow for a middle ad break. Advertisers don't usually like the beginning/end, because they are easily skippable and people are somewhat less inclined to fast-forward in the middle.
That said, if everyone hates the idea of advertisements, the natural thing would be to increase your support or become a new supporter through Patreon, buy tickets to the live shows (Dollop and otherwise), inform like-minded and non like-minded friends and family of the podcast, purchase the merch, pre-order the book, watch any shows they write for, etc...
There's a pretty good book about it: https://www.amazon.com/Fordlandia-Henry-Fords-Forgotten-Jungle/dp/0312429622 I definitely agree this could be an episode.
If you want to read a good book about Mormon fundamentalists in the US, try John Krakaeur's book Under the Banner of Heaven - it's really interesting.
Absolutely love that ep and race
I bought a book about it that’s really interesting
Bruce Catton's Centennial History of the Civil War is a really well written trilogy. Highly recommended. Of course he covers well known events but he has a lot of interesting little human details.
As a somewhat well-off American, I can safely say that old-timey American gentlemanly dueling culture scares the shit out of me. Although lower class honor culture was not any better at all.
I just read this for my True Crime book club. Very Dollop-esque:
Ballad of the Whiskey Robber: A True Story of Bank Heists, Ice Hockey, Transylvanian Pelt Smuggling, Moonlighting Detectives, and Broken Hearts
Rubinstein, Julian
