I always wear boots, because I walk the dog daily. However, I can recommend Altberg Tabbing Boots - it's a lightweight and breathable boot, that's sort of a cross between boots and running shoes.

I also have owned and worn extensively Peacekeeper P1 Aqua, and Sneekers - they're good, but heavier duty waterproof boots. Lovely if you're tramping around in very soggy conditions, but overkill for playing PoGo.

I would also recommend you consider Liner Socks - these are thin, go under your 'normal' socks, but will significantly improve your comfort in all weather - in the cold, your feet will be a bit warmer and dryer, because there's a bit more insulation, and 'damp' is carried away. In the warm, your feet will be cooler and dryer, because the moisture won't sit next to your skin.

To quote:

> “The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.

> Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.

> But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.

> This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness.”

I'm a daily messenger bag carrier but I used to have several backpacks. There are few i am considering to purchase as well. I'll list them below.

If you want something that will last you for the rest of your life, go tactical. These are great for bug-out bags as well. Some of them will be compiable with Hiker cosplay. Amazon

If tactical isn't your thing and you prefer something urban. Need a cool looking pack that lasts for a long time too? I got you; I have few suggestions. Herschel Supply , Arctic Fox , ASERF , Rhine , Blue Lounge , CaseLogic , and Convey.

If you want to go down on the messenger bag route like I did, then here I go ~! Timbuk , Tumi , MNMUR. I personally am a huge fan of Timbuk's messenger bags.

For people that lose battery in the cold, I feel you (I have an iPhone). What I've found to work incredibly well is a hand warmer on the back of your phone, specifically these -https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DPKYI3W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.IVmzbQCB7267 - you stick them to the back of your case and they keep your hand warm too

tbh, the pair I have was literally a giveaway from Comcast at a parade last year. They're likely too thin to get me through the winter, but they're great for mid 30*F weather here in MA right now. They're not waterproof.

The pair I have is red, but these from Amazon are a close approximation:

The really important thing to make sure you have is sun-protective clothing and sun block! I have this ugly-fabulous hat with a UPF 50+ (https://amzn.com/B003U2OEGG) and I'm sure some of the men's styles would do just as well. Basic sunglasses, slather on the sunscreen, and go go go!

The only one I found on Amazon was Lynktec and it has been good so far.

Glider Gloves ... I've used for a week now and they are really good so far. I can't comment on how long they will last though.

I deal with phone heating issues using ice packs. I carry around an insulated lunch bag with two ice packs and a small cloth when I go raiding.

Depending on what your phone specifications are, careful using this method. I have a Sony Xperia Z3+ with an IP68 rating. So far, my phone hasn't died yet from doing this.

Here is the ice pack I got from my local grocery store (I found it on Amazon too):

If you are using a battery bank grab something like this and tape it to the back of the phone.

If you’re even close to half-serious, only fancier, more expensive models have a barometric altimeter. Plenty get the data just fine using GPS.

For reference, neither the Amazon’s Choice $80 Garmin ETrex 10 nor its $150 upgraded 20x model have barometers. To get one, you have to get the even more premium 30x model, which MSRPs for $300.

Can't we send dronpes a coffee?
this kind of coffee:
https://www.amazon.com/Death-Wish-Coffee-Strongest-Certified/dp/B006CQ1ZHI

He won't be needed to sleep for the next 2 days after that.

Has anybody tried getting rechargeable 2032 batteries? They have them on Amazon with the charging station.

Conductive gloves?

With the new prestiging rates, I'm thinking I might need these to make it through those -40°C evenings pumping a gym to level 10.
