AMAZING artist. Way ahead of his time. He did countless classic ads and covers for the Saturday Evening Post. Norman Rockwell actually literally buddied up to him and swiped his career out from under him (bizarre but book documented drama)
He was reserved and quiet by nature, which is partly why everyone knows of Rockwell and not really him. Another part of the reason is that he did it intentionally. He was gay and one of his go-to models was actually his partner who lived with him. When he died he asked that all of his records be destroyed.
(Also, I have a tiny collection of old Chinese furniture because I love looking up all of the puns and the meanings of the decorations ;D )
