I like it a lot. I enjoy folk art and I would probably hang this in my kid's room... not in a bad way, but because I think the style would resonate with her as far as looking similar to some of her favorite picture books by Lizi Boyd.

Okay, yes -- first -- people will tell you all kinds of stories when you're buying something. Sometimes it's accidentally incorrect lore or family stories, sometimes it's deliberately to mislead. Super, super common.

That said, I think that this is the work of a weaver named Julienne Krasnoff.

Here is a link to a sold listing from 1st Dibs.

Here is a book on weaving she was involved in.

It looks like she was the editor of a weaving magazine called "Shuttle" in the 1970s.

I can't find anything about a Smithsonian show, but I didn't dig really deeply.

Found lithographs listed for sale on Amazon. No Further for $450 and Ambush for $300. The prices, though, are noted for "Edition Plus 40 Artist Proofs out of 300" Since yours are part of the original 40 run, they may be worth more. I'd say you may want to get them appraised.

Amazon. This piece you’ve posted may be from an actual artist; but there’s loads of stuff like this online or from major stores (pier one, hobby lobby, etc)

wall26 - 3 Piece Canvas Wall Art - Illustration - Graffiti Background, Grunge Illustration - Modern Home Decor Stretched and Framed Ready to Hang - 16"x24"x3 Panels https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075GQ71ZN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kyrlDbWB3WE5P

EDIT: what I posted is for a canvass print! My bad. I looked more; go to Groupon and keyword search “metal abstract art”, a bunch of stuff came up that way.

If you don't get another answer here and you're really wanting to know and are willing to spend some $$ the book is on amazon.

Did you have to buy any books for your class? Maybe a book where this image is on the cover?

You might want to check out the photography of Rodchenko

I emailed a woman, Irene D. Thomas, who wrote a book titled "Olaf Palm: A Life in Art" (https://www.amazon.com/Olaf-Palm-Ire.../dp/0972569510) and she seems to believe that the sketch is one of his.

The one on the left is Magical Wizard Mythical Creature Kids Room Fantasy Wall Decor Art Print Poster and the right is Magical Mythical Pegasus Wizard at Night Kids Room Art Print Poster. I can't make out the signature for the one on the left, but the one on the right was done by Thomas Kidd.

I'm guessing this is not the original painting since you can find a few places to buy this exact print online. Most of the "value" is probably going to be in the frame itself. ForSale1 ForSale2 ForSale3

AMAZING artist. Way ahead of his time. He did countless classic ads and covers for the Saturday Evening Post. Norman Rockwell actually literally buddied up to him and swiped his career out from under him (bizarre but book documented drama)

He was reserved and quiet by nature, which is partly why everyone knows of Rockwell and not really him. Another part of the reason is that he did it intentionally. He was gay and one of his go-to models was actually his partner who lived with him. When he died he asked that all of his records be destroyed.

(Also, I have a tiny collection of old Chinese furniture because I love looking up all of the puns and the meanings of the decorations ;D )
