Just looking at your user page, I too can see that we share the all too elusive 'capacity for critical and intelligent thought which aims to achieve higher and broader levels of consciousness and personal growth' ...on a good day at least...on the other days I go back and forth from one WTF extreme to another...Crazy times we're living in right? If you haven't heard of it this book Tools for Titans is just up your alley I bet...Here's the author Tim Ferriss on the Tonight Show ...Not only did the content and idea of the book itself hook me instantly, but I was amazed at how graceful and relaxed Tim Ferriss was from start to finish in this interview, he even managed to calm Fallon down which is no easy feat, it left me thinking "I want to do what that dude is doing" Thank you for the compliment; when I am tripping I tend to listen to Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan and The Grateful Dead, my thoughts probably couldn't be reigned in enough to write...are you some kind of chemist? I have a big 'Breaking Bad' style camper, let's get a bunch of rye berries, harvest the ergot fungus on them, then you do your chemistry thing and bring it back ala' Stanley Owlsley! haha

Harry's Razor and King of Shaves shaving gel. I have always done mine in the shower and in the 30 years I've been doing it this is the best I've found and I've had great results.

I have a Wahl Professional and LOVE it. They're much better than any of the cheap clippers I've owned over the past 10+ years. I don't have to go over the same spot multiple times or change directions to get every hair.

Wahl Balding. Great hair clipper and will work great for your beard. Get some clipper oil and some cutting guides and you're all set.

I am a black guy. I used that back in the day and my face turned into a pizza. I would never recommend any depilatory product for your face. I now have bump free skin (despite have the tightest curl and being prone to ingrown hairs). [This] (http://www.amazon.com/Wahl-Shaver-Trimmer-Battery-9945-801/dp/B000J29GRW) is worth it's weight in gold, it is fantastic

u/babygorilla90 · 2 pointsr/bald

Any trimmer will do that. I would recommend one that plugs in and has wider teeth than a simple beard trimmer since it won't take as long and it is more powerful. This is what you want.

I would use it with no guard and experiment. If it is too short than it will grow to your desired length in a few days.

This is one of the best ketoconazole (anti-dandruff) shampoos. Compared to this head-and-shoulders did nothing for me.

Thanks for the suggestion. This has been annoying because the simplest solution isn't straightforward for me. I ended up ordering this, which I think is in the same vein. I'll update with my findings here.

The most powerful clipper I know of is the classic Oster Model 76

This is a motor-driven clipper, unlike the magnetic, vibrating, buzzing system that Wahl uses

The Osters use detachable blades (sold separately), so to change the length of the cut, you detach the existing blade by sliding it off and sliding on a different blade

Since the blades are themselves changeable, the clipper normally does not use plastic clipper combs

These clippers are used in military boot camp installations, where the recruits lose an entire head of thick hair quickly

The noise they make is unique... they whine since it is a motor

If cared for properly, they will last many years

And they are fairly expensive

I believe the closest cut blade sold is a five aught 00000

You might also find these at a barber/beauty supply store, since they are professional grade clippers

Hope this helps !

Honestly, I always had issues with my scalp being dry and itchy...until I completely shaved my head. Not sure what was causing it but it went away instantly with all of my hair being gone.. Not sure how much hair is left with a zero, but I'd try shaving it and see what happens. I do use this Nivea aftershave

Seen it at the grocery store. If this shit works, i dont know why anyone would keep shaving.

I use the same cleansing conditioner, that I use on my beard, on my scalp to soften up any hairs for shaving.

Once I shave, I wash my face & scalp with Cetaphil daily facial cleanser

Then I use cold water, followed by Witch Hazel astringent. The proper item for what you're attempting to do with rubbing alcohol.

Lastly, I moisturize with Cremo SPF 20 face lotion

Can't tell from the Amazon page, it is 5 blades for $10 or 100?

Electric Trimmer here -
-- Philips Norelco Sensotouch 1280X/47
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006W2SYGM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's a few years old now, but so long as I change the head often enough, it's >95% as close as a razor.

Looking to get a blade razor again, but the electric can be so damn convenient when I don't want to shave every day and deal with blades as often. It cost maybe $300 a $60 head every 6 months or so.

Sunscreen is just anything over SPF 30 (and not that spray-on nonsense, use real lotion).

As far as sweat goes, if I'm really working out or exercising I wear one of these. Mostly just to keep myself from going blind via sweat in the eyes.

Also, as soon as I can after working out I always rinse/shower down to prevent the salt and sweat from clogging up my skin and ruining my complexion. This stuff helps prevent sweat from doing any damage too.

These are currently my go to blades.

I get basically zero irritation on my scalp when I use these, although I don’t get quite as many uses out of them as I would other blades. You can definitely tell when it’s time to change the blade, as it starts to tug really badly.

Feather blades are very sharp and you’ll get a lot of uses out of them, but that sharpness could also mean cuts and irritation if your technique isn’t solid yet.
