I looked at the service manual for your TV, but it did not include a BOM listing the PSU component parts.

If you have a friend w/ access to a hackerspace, they may be able to help you determine what that IC does, or to adapt a compatible power supply from a different brand/chassis entirely.

I assume that Hitachi just used a range of compatible units and assigned them the same part number, since that is all the manual says about them.

Without being able to reverse-engineer the power supply unit to figure out what that part does (board scans, physical context, etc), my recommendation suggestion is to grab a compatible board from any model built on the same chassis, that should fit/mount in-place without too much trouble --
The only mechanical difference specified between power units for the -S602 and -A202/-A402 models is an additional pin on CN23 for greater Va capacity (presumably to support the higher resolution).

This may not be the perfect solution for you if you're short on floor space, or if you're more interested in display rather than use; but I've been able to shoehorn three banquet tables into our guest bedroom, with three computers per table, all ready to use at a moment's notice.

The tables I'm using are the wooden type with folding metal legs, like these, but purchased second-hand on Craigslist. Some are a bit ratty, but they hold computers off the ground, so they do the job.

I'm wondering, though, if this is just the beginning of a bubble. Right now, people are paying high prices for these out of nostalgia; the machine they had (or couldn't afford, but desperately wanted) when these were new. Now they have the cash to buy them, and are hitting mid-life crisis time, so they're snatching these up.

This is me right now. When I was young I wanted all these machines and now I can. I write off all the expenses as cheaper than therapy. But at the same time it has fueled my passion for Computer History. I now find myself buying and reading books like The Home Computer Wars or Fire in the Valley.
