so i got mine through Amazon. It was a tad bit more expensive but I get free 2 day shipping and I needed them by this weekend cause I had plans to play. but here's the amazon links.

Discraft Heat
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZANE3G4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Discraft Buzzz
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032UUZ1Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Discraft Roach
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018GV1XKA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you have more time I really likes a couple of other websites but just didn't want to pay $30 for 2 days shipping. And I highly suggest you check out Discraft website. They had every bit of information I was needing, from throwing videos, to videos explain all the different kinds of disc and helping me figure it all out. Their website and info was so good that's what made me want to use their disc! so ill link that too!

for help picking a disc look here:
http://www.discraft.com/dghelp.html

For awesome video help and they even had a little graph like picture that shows some flight patterns of their disc.

Im sure a lot of other brands have all this same info, discraft is just what came up when I googled, and they made it all really easy for a newbie like me to understand! hope all this helps!

I played this past weekend and the temp was close to 0 before windchill was factored in.

I wore these pants, which /u/afropirg recommended, with a pair of longjohns underneath. It was the perfect amount of warmth and very nonrestrictive. On top I wore a few long sleeve layers (underarmor cold gear, thermal, thin cotton hoodie) under a wool softshell. Again, I had full range of motion and wasn't bulky. The only thing I'd potentially add would be a wind resistant layer, but I wouldn't say it's necessary.

The only parts of me that got cold were my feet, I had only worn a single pair of wool socks in my waterproof boots. And my face when playing into the wind.

The takeaway here is, warm socks x2 and a face shield if its windy.

Also, one thing I learned is that when you take your hand out of your gloves to putt, if your hand is warm it will stick to the cold soft plastic of putters. Causing some awkward releases. I remedied this by taking my hand out early to give it a chance to 'cool off' for a clean release.

I used to have huge problems with my mental game. If I had a rough start, there was never any coming back. I would be too angry to focus. Someone here suggested a book called Zen and the Art of Disc Golf. So, I signed up for an Audible trial account and got it for free. I thought it really sucked. When I went to the reviews of that book, someone mentioned Zen Golf, so I gave that one a shot with my other free credit. It's not a disc golf book, but almost everything translates perfectly. I never stay angry and rarely lose focus anymore.

Now I just need to work on my putting...

Dunno if you have it there but Permethrin is supposed to be awesome.

u/NotoriousOGP · 1 pointr/discgolf

I got this one and it works really well.

Innova Champion Discs Standard Bag, Black/Gray https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DF41CV4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_p4w2xb91VW7WZ

Everyone in my group bags Repel 100.

https://www.amazon.com/Repel-Insect-Repellent-Single-Bottle/dp/B004H89KFC

Anything with Deet is going to be good. Spray it on your pants legs, arms, etc...

You can also get 40% pure Pyrethin from Amazon. Mix that down to 0.5% and you can soak your socks, etc... In it. Once it dries, you are good to wear.

I use these tucked into my hoodie. Fits perfect, keeps my hands warm, especially with a hot hands inside and is out of the way when throwing.

I have Nike Hyperwarm winter running gear base layer to wear under my 4ucycling pants. My legs never get cold. Feet I have a pair of winter hiking socks.

I usually go to a nearby soccer field and occasionally bring my portable basket as a target to aim at, then sort of imagine different scenarios so I practice specific skills, for example a tree in the way, so I'd try a flex around it, or a hyzer or try a wide forehand or something.

EDIT: Thanks to /u/zoidbergular for reminding me about distances, I picked up a cheap [distance measuring wheel(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004L181E6) and some cheap short cones to measure our distances.

I.E. I would mark where to throw from, then starting at about 200 feet, I'd mark every 25 feet out to 400 or so, and that way I can see how far I'm throwing. Also effective for putting practice, measuring and placing a cone for reference every 5 feet

I got this DGA towel at the last tourney I went to, it's pretty nice.

u/vervain9 · 1 pointr/discgolf

I’ve been using this for a year https://www.amazon.com/Innova-Champion-Discs-Standard-Black/dp/B00DF41CV4

Fits 9 discs comfortably. Can fit two tall boys. It doesn’t have great balance but gets the job done for me.

u/sebastian422 · 5 pointsr/discgolf

I use this, you can adjust the length to probably 5' wide to hold however many discs you need. Cheap and works great.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0032UUZ1Y/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_xJMEDb83A6YVT I would reccomend Z plastic personally, but you can look around at other plastics if you would like.

u/golfkid3 · 1 pointr/discgolf

I've used one of these to measure throws in the past. Cheap and effective.

u/goosewhaletruck · 0 pointsr/discgolf

I like the innova disccarrier with backpack straps. kindof lets you have the backpack and the satchel if you just loop one arm. I'm a beginner/intermediate too.

this+this

ends up being $85

Permethrin, and high deet bug spray like this

Lately I've been keeping a few of these in my bag:

Poison Ivy Wipes

Often times I don't spot the poison ivy until I've already stepped into it, or reached through it to grab my disc, but a quick wipe-down with these seems to do the trick.

u/Fresh_hex89 · 1 pointr/discgolf

I think the 3rd pic that you are talking about it a completely different basket.
The mvp black hole with the band is a black hole pro basket
MVP Black Hole Pro 24-Chain Portable Disc Golf Basket Targetblack hole pro
That one is about 150$

u/bernardcat · 2 pointsr/discgolf

Amazon. They have other ones, that was just the first one I came across.

u/mwebsterDG · 9 pointsr/discgolf

buy permethrin and spray it on all of you DG clothes, shoes, and bag. Let it dry before wearing the clothes. It will keep ticks off you all season, re-apply next season.

I've been rocking Merrell Chameleon hiking shoes for years. They are comfy and waterproof. Their Vibram soles keep you steady on those sketchy spots.

u/LittleHelperRobot · 1 pointr/discgolf

Non-mobile: Merrell Chameleon

u/GrizzlyGinger · 2 pointsr/discgolf

Man, I've been using a really crappy app to measure my field work throws because I thought a measuring wheel would be too expensive. Thanks for prompting me to actually look at prices.

I seem to be having posting issues, for those wondering about what cutter, etc:

>I picked up this one. Setup is a bit of a bitch, but once you get all the software and drivers updated, it's a solid cutter. I've done a handful of things so far, from 1/4" high text, to 13"x13" images of Chris Farley. I recently made one of Chow Yun Fat for the hell of it that I stuck to my sandblaster.

Hopefully it posts this time, or perhaps I've been ninja banned..
