I have the rep fitness flat bench and really like it. I got it for about $100 during black friday, but it's $129 on Amazon. And it qualifies for prime shipping if you have it.
https://www.amazon.com/Rep-Rated-Weight-Bench-Lifting/dp/B00NLPZGU0
Rep has it on their site for $100, but you'll have to pay shipping. https://www.repfitness.com/rep-flat-bench
I'm not sure which would come out cheaper, but that $100 amazon giftcard would only work for amazon obviously. I can't imagine that the difference would be much once you add shipping to ordering it from their site.
It'd be nice if the rep fitness bench had wheels like the titan bench does, but mainly for my fiancee. Having to pick it up to move it is not an issue. And I prefer the 12" wide pad to the 10" wide pad of the titan bench.
I think the titan bench would be fine as long as you're good with the 10" width. If you care about such things, the dimensions for an IPF approved bench are 48L x 12W x 17H. The rep is 47L x 12W x 17.5H. The titan is 47.25L x 10W x 16.25H.
So they're pretty close in dimensions. The padding on the rep bench is pretty good. I can't speak for the titan bench.
Here's the details on the stuff:
Power Rack. Had this about 6 weeks and I'm extremely happy with it. Looks fine, feels very sturdy, no feeling of tipping or instability even when I hang from the bar at front. Paint scratches when you move and insert the spotter bars but what do you want for $350 shipped. It's held 215 on multiple occasions with no issues. If you lift significantly heavier than this (300+) you may want to read reviews first, or invest in a less-starter rack, but for many/most people this will be fine forever. It's dead easy to assemble if you have a socket set and if you don't, great opportunity to get one, they're cheap! Assembly can be done mostly solo but the final bits really need a second person to hold stuff in place while bolts are inserted. Rack comes shipped in 2 or 3 (can't remember) boxes which are pretty unwieldy and heavy.
I went with this CAP barbell. This suits my needs very well with great knurling and came without bend, and I'm unlikely to put a bend in it with my sub-300 deadlifts. The barbell ships in a fun 7 foot cylindrical tube which caused the dude at the mail place to nearly topple over because he expected it to be light for some reason.
I also got this plate tree which holds 2x 45# bumpers, 2x 45# plates, and 2x 25#, 2x 10#, 4x 5#, and 2x 2.5#. Does the trick but paint scratches off the pegs like crazy but is easily cleaned up. Single box, about 30 pounds.
The bench is this one by Marcy. I wanted a simple bench and that's what I got. Great bench for the price and I haven't had any instability problems. Had this for a year and used up to 70# dumbbells and 215# barbell with it (I'm 215). Most weight total that's been on it was a 270# friend benching 185# for sets and he found it fine.
Assorted stuff: got these puzzle mats which do the trick for the right price and are stowable unlike a permanent mat. As I mentioned elsewhere the 45# bumpers are meant to mitigate any floor impact, and I'm not terribly concerned with keeping this floor perfect anyway (it's 10 year old laminate on top of concrete, and the "path" is linoleum). The plates were from a sale at the local FitnessDerp store (not its real name) and were 85 cents a pound -- I never saw any on Craigslist for less than that in the month I looked. Finally just some collars.
The cat in the picture highly recommends this crinkle tunnel.
I hate my local gym(s). So. Damn. Much. I know it's just me. I'm impatient, intolerant, and generally just can't stand the douchers everywhere. So, I finally finished up my garage gym. It's not pretty, but it works. I just need a few more plates, and a really good deal on a row machine (and to clean up the other half of the garage).

Ask and you shall receive (keep in mind this isn't anything special). Most of the information I used to build it was from the following post/user: https://www.reddit.com/r/homegym/comments/59phrd/anyone_rig_up_a_pulley_attachment_to_their_titan/d9ctoqe/?st=j2v2cxxe&sh=42f06b7e
Another thing to keep in mind is that I went the route of using swaged sleeves instead of wire rope clamps because I hold the belief that they are safer for working with moving loads and I would very much not like to die– if you have no idea what I mean you can read more in the post above. Also please keep in mind that the weight limit will be limited by your weakest item (so if you buy 6 things rated for 800lbs but cheap out on a carabiner with a limit of 200lbs – you’re limit is 200lb or less, probably less)
(Bad) view of what it looks like:

(some views of how I attached it to a steel I-Ibeam) http://i.imgur.com/n2mdGOX.jpg & http://i.imgur.com/f9zOqPL.jpg
(loading pin to wire rope (which includes the thimble and ferule swaged sleeve – note that I could have cut the end of the wire sticking out of the ferule off but it isn’t rubbing so I left it – the ones near the pulley you will want to get as close to the ferule as you can as seen in the second pic) http://i.imgur.com/iX0rpir.jpg & http://i.imgur.com/F1Bsa0D.jpg

**a note on the swaging tool; make sure you buy one that can swage 3/16 ferules (see the numbers stamped on the head of the tool: http://imgur.com/Dm2XwQ9
*pulleys: http://i.imgur.com/VoCuifT.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CA70PH6.jpg I bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BD6BSQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Note the top swivels which may be important depending on your setup otherwise you can also go with the following which have a fixed top but you can swap the wheel for something with ball bearing so it is smooth and quiet: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZBL2DAI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 & https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FPDMGY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Notes:
In closing, there are doubtlessly much better ways to go about this and please note that I am an idiot when it comes to handy stuff like this. Hope it helps.
So, why all the dumbbells?
The price depends on the stuff you want. There's plenty of cheaper options. I spent around $650 to start and did fine. My current set up now may be $3000.
Here's the beginner sets I usually recommend:
That'll probably run you about $650 after taxes. Other supplies:

-----
For the other questions:
Mine is set up in a spare bedroom. I love it. I dont have to deal with temp swings. Just protect your floor and make a platform.
Posted this for someone else last week for the pulley I made.
As i mentioned before i stole the spud system idea and used soft loop straps http://i.imgur.com/ieEZAYW.jpg
Add quick link from http://www.homedepot.com/p/National-Hardware-1-4-in-Zinc-Plated-Quick-Link-3150BC-1-4-QUICK-LINK-ZN/204606888?MERCH=REC-_-rv_gm_pip_rr-_-100192336-_-204606888-_-N this specific one is rated at 800 pounds
Next is a pulley i got the 3in swivel pulley https://www.amazon.com/Stanley-National-Hardware-3211BC-Plated/dp/B000BD6BSQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1497150073&sr=1-1&keywords=3in+swivel+pulley
Combine it for something like this: Strap + Quicklink + Pulley http://i.imgur.com/Tq2qTsf.jpg
Next for the cable i went to home depot and got 62 inches of "1/8 in. Galvanized UNCOATED Wire Rope" obviously if you want a more piece of mind you can get thicker Ropes for a bigger work load but you can go to your local homedepot to check what they have and can cut as much as you want. It only cost me $2 for 60 inches. Just make sure you know your measurements as i gave the loop an extra 6 inches each side.
Then you are going to want 2 sets of crimps and thimbles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K881w8xqNKE There are cheaper options but i wanted it right away. You can always order them online just make sure the measurements fit your Wire Rope. As for the tool i dont have a Crimper or Swager so i used the one at homedepot. If you're not very handy with tools you can use Wire Clamps but these are not as safe and i wouldnt recommend using a lot of weight with them.
Get two Carabiner anywhere online or homedepot make sure the weight rating is good enough for what you want to do and that it will fit through the loops you make http://i.imgur.com/HTGVdFh.jpg
Combine it http://i.imgur.com/XuK8t6I.jpg
*Note that you will have to have the cable threaded through the pulley before you clamp both sides of the cable.
Final piece the Loading Pin. You can either buy this http://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-loading-pin?prod_id=3800&gclid=CNb7wKTqtNQCFduEswodhi8PnQ
OR buy a 3/4in x 18in Black Steel Pipe and 3/4 in Floor Flange combine it http://30thandweldon.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/IMG_2620.jpg and drill a hole at the top on both sides to hook an Eye Bolt. Its not as professional but will cost less then the rep fitness one.
All this can be done for under 1k.
Sorry for the confusion about the bar, I was referring to this one.
https://www.amazon.com/CAP-Barbell-Olympic-2-Inch-7-Feet/dp/B000RNSDKE
You can usually find then on Craigslist, but for $180 a 1500lb tolerance (according to them) bar is still a great deal.
In regards to the rack, I think my experience would be better if I had found this in say a commercial gym or training facility with more space. When space is limited and you HAVE to lift inside, it is a huge hassle for squats, deadlifts, and benching. It's basically impossible to deadlift in this rack if you have attached plate storage.
When you can lift outside the rack, it becomes infinitely better. But again, for most home gyms space is an issue and a lot of us have to lift inside. Plus, with the safety system the way it is, it is designed to be squatting/deadlifting within the 24 inches.
I got my attachments off of Amazon /u/_kc_mo_nster . Any 2x2 rack attachment should work. I got these padded j hooks They work well, but not a fan of the glue holding the pads on.
Also, got these Titan Fitness weight holders. Got 4 of those and use a set for dips as well. Works very well highly recommend if in need of plate storage
You can also try out Valor Fitness BD-7 attachment since those are all 2x2's too.
Recently picked up 2 cable pulleys from Archon - if you’ve been thinking about cable routines you should check them out!
Cable pulleys are super versatile tools I think every home gym should have.
ARCHON Single Pulley Cable Station https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0763DZ466?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Using 2 pulleys instead of 1 helps stabilize the weight plate
Of course you can also use both pulleys independently for crossovers, etc.
You can also link 2 pulleys together to change the pulley height.
I put one pulley on the pull up bar and the other around a J-hook. Lots of flexibility to get the exact heights you want.
For example in the pic below I’m using 2 pulleys linked together for high cable rows
Also, I’m pretty sure the Valor Fitness pulley is the same as the Archon one, either way really solid buy for the home gym.
Valor Fitness PY-1 Portable Cable Station https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZ244XO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HilCCb7B4N7EB
Ya, I totally get that. Flat bench chest flies especially, that seems to be the one where they always want to hang out right beneath me. I've come to accept that unless it's nap time, I'm probably not going heavy. That said, the best solution I've found thus far is to get my kids involved. I do a lot with kettlebells, and about six months ago I got my oldest (2) a stuffed animal kettlebell, which she absolutely loves and must have with her while I'm working out. Her form is garbage, but she legitimately does the exercises with me, knows to stand back a bit (so she can have space, don't want Daddy getting in the way of her kettlebell swings) and in general it helps me get my work in.
In about a year, I plan to pick this up for her. I'm hoping for similar results.
Doesn't look like it would be too solid. I don't know how much you are willing to spend or your requirements but this york rack is very well built and has a 1000 lbs capacity, it was the best value I could find when I was looking. They also make a shorter one that's slightly cheaper.
This is the bench I picked up for bench pressing. $150.
I built a lifting stand set based from End of Three Fitness' plans. The cost was less than $75.
As for a bar and weights. I picked up an olympic bar and plates from a local Salvation Army for about $90. I lucked out and saved myself $300. Check your local thrifts, used sports equipment stores and Sports Authorities.
Forgot to mention, I don't use mats, and control my deadlfts when putting them down and haven't had any complaints from my downstairs neighbors.
Good luck to you!
How are the fitness reality?
850lb - $175 with coupon. Fitness Reality 2000 Super Max XL High Capacity NO Gap Weight Bench with Detachable Leg Lock-Down https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B3Q9F22/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_p6mWCbJ6XW2EK
800lb - $90 Fitness Reality 1000 Super Max Adjustable Weight Bench, 800 lbs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CR4XFIK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_l3mWCbDAWTQ4X
The three most popular and affordable plate loaded and adjustable single pulley systems are these:
Titan - https://www.titan.fitness/wall-mounted-pulley-tower.html
Valor - https://www.amazon.com/Valor-Fitness-BD-62-Mount-Station/dp/B01LOX2PPO
Archon - https://fitarchon.com/product/adjustable-duel-pulley-station/
Plate loaded is definitely the way to go unless money is no concern. I own the Valor and would recommend it, though if I were buying again I would get the Archon since its the only one of the 3 that has wall mounts on the bottom of the tower in addition to the top.
If you want to go extremely minimialist you could do something like this - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ244XO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That patent pending gapless feature is suspicously like my benches patent pending gapless feature. My bench which is already on the market.
https://www.amazon.com/Fitness-Reality-Capacity-Detachable-Lock-Down/dp/B07B3Q9F22?keywords=2806+bench&qid=1536981857&sr=8-1-fkmrnull&ref=mp_s_a_1_fkmrnull_1
Imitation is the sincerest form of... I'm gonna cut a !@#$*. ROFL!
Seems expensive for what you're getting.
For twice the price, Here, you can get a bar that will last you for a long, long while.
That bar in the link is good for 700 pounds, which is a pretty good deadlift.
That Apex bar is only good until about 250 pounds, which is a month or two of deadlifting. In fact, I wouldn't recommend it, unless you're planning on doing endurance exercises with low weights.
Total: $204.95, plus any tax and shipping.
Note that the parallel bar station does not store as easily as you might like. It's very useful, though; you can use it for dips, bodyweight rows, L-sit training, etc. The paralette bars linked by batman1285 are probably a good substitute, though they won't give you as much clearance from the ground.
I bought this Adidas flat bench off Amazon when I first started my home gym 5 years ago and it’s proven to be an excellent bench for the price.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01GIT0NEO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_BZWFAb5N9S5K2
It’s nice and wide with a dense foam top which has been great for bench and @ a 600lb rating it’s plenty strong. I added some rubber feet to it to prevent sliding/scratching the platform — added 1/4” to overall height.
My only complaint is the cross-member length for the feet of the bench. @ over 18” wide they can interfere with my foot placement if I’m too high on the bench but I plan on chopping a few inches off each side to correct this.
I have the same squat rack and just upgraded my j-hooks a couple months ago and it was a fantastic decision. They're currently on sale for 25 bucks on Amazon! Highly recommended upgrade.
https://www.amazon.com/Yes4All-Pair-Hooks-Power-Squat/dp/B071YP4VPN/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=yes4all+j+cup&qid=1562790519&s=gateway&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sr=8-2
Squat Cage for 6' Ceiling - Short Power Rack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008FPVTL6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_v0Plzb89ZGPN8
I've had this rack for about 6 months now. I'm 5'9" and have no size limitations. Easy to switch from squats to bench etc. The fail bars are also reliable. It come in 2 boxes and is easy to assemble; takes about an hour. With my 7 foot ceilings I am able to do full ROM pull-ups, I just have to hang with my feet behind my butt (I'm sure there's a better way to describe this). There are two plate racks in the bottom front that work for a 300lb set however, it would be nice to to have them on the sides of the rack as well.
http://imgur.com/Djw6BE1
Edit: I should probably add that I've had no more than 225lbs on the bar so I can't verify its durability with heavier weight.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00QZ2G7FY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1458436648&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=tds+rack&dpPl=1&dpID=41GsUjhVzgL&ref=plSrch
I have something like this one (older model) and I would definitely say that it's worth the few extra bucks to get a real cage. There is peace of mind in knowing that if I dump something ugly, I can. Stalk free shipping or find something similar IRL.
Thanks if i were to get something like https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LZ244XO/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1487625357&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=cable+system+for+power+rack&dpPl=1&dpID=41sMqqoYZlL&ref=plSrch that would it be worth it ?
It's been very sturdy and I'm happy with it. However, I also got this bench while it was on sale. I use it for bench press since it's lower to the ground and more wide. It's better for bench than the IronMaster in my opinion. I use the IM for everything else though and don't regret buying it, considering I needed an adjustable bench anyways. I'm 5'10".
Sorry, didn't notice this till now, but if you're still interested: Titan Fitness Olympic Weight Plate Holder for T-2 Power Rack 2"x2" Tube 1" Holes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EBAT7AS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_HauTnjTFOwIYU
$400? for $200 you can get a full sized squat rack on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4I8FOY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used to have one of those benches in the CL ad and on the highest setting I'd still have to do a 1/2" squat to get started with squats, plus there's no safety bars to catch if you fail and that goes for bench press too on the lack of safety.
Another hundred bucks and you've got a good quality bench:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OHQALU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Spend the rest on weights (admittedly you'll be just above the $400 price point but you won't be needing to spend more money on the same equipment a few years down the road) and whey and you'll be good to go.
https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Fitness-Olympic-Weight-Holder/dp/B01EBAT7AS/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=Titan+2x2+weight&qid=1564143012&s=gateway&sr=8-8
They work like a champ
here are some Ideas I had saved for my home gym at an apartment (made for when it is cold or warm outside):
Here's what the garage looked like last week.
The only decent gym in my area charges $50 per month and it's always packed, so I figured i'd try building a gym for the price of roughly a one year membership (~$600).
Here's the rundown:
Total - $815
I went a bit over my budget, but I might still end up selling some of those Olympic plates. I justified the extra I spent by telling myself I can always just sell most of this stuff on CL and still end up with a relatively minimal loss compared to what I originally bought the stuff for.
I'm also probably going to buy a pair of dip handles and something to tag onto the side of the cage to hold the rest of the weights i've got stacked in the corner.
That bar has a 700 lb weight capacity. This bar might be a better fit for you. Its $128 and has a 1,500 lb weight capacity.

Copying and pasting a comment from a previous thread -
I did a DIY setup, with everything coming from Amazon except the carabiners, which you can pretty much find anywhere. Here's the links for the parts:
Steel Cable: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YDK49M/
Wire Rope Clips: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00III7IP6/
Pulleys: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BD6BSQ/
Thimbles: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0038YY3LW/
Tie-down Straps (for hanging pulleys from the rack): https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AS5QC1C/
Loading Pin: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IRY5U14/
Assuming you have some tools around, this should be everything you would need. I recommend a bolt cutter if you don't already have one. I thought I would be able to cut the steel cable with the wire cutters built into my pliers and it was not happening. Ended up having to make a trip to the tool shop this morning to get that.
I over estimated most of the prices, but these are things I figured I would need in a home gym if I ever build one. If you take out a few, you can make it fit your budget.

I have this guy, it fits perfectly in my basement very short ceiling clearance
As mentioned before I think squatting in this set up would be an issue as you are pretty tall. If I had a 600 budget heres what I would go for:
I would look to upgrade to a power bar in the future. But this setup should do the trick for you.
Akonza Adjustable Squat Stands for bench and squat

Fitness Reality 2000 Super Max XL High Capacity Weight Bench with Detachable Leg Lock-Down (this FID bench folds up flat for storage)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B3Q9F22/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_lCAKBbS38T2VX
Both of these items can be put in a closet and work well. You can also buy some power block u90s and ironmaster 120 Dumbbells with the kettle bell handle from ironmaster and you have an entire gym that can be put away in a closet. Add a folding walker for dips and a door way pull up bar with rings and you can start charging people to use your studio.
Here are links to my posts that have all of the above items.

I have the OB-86B, its nice, I just wish it had slightly more aggressive knurling. For the price its going for, I'd rather pick up the PB for $5 more http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RNSDKE
I have a similar one to that XMark one... https://www.amazon.com/XMark-Incline-Decline-Weight-XM-7604/dp/B0080QZKHE
The difference is that it has an attachment to add a preacher curl station or leg extension. I think the bench is a bit long and the gap between the top and bottom pad is quite large. Other than that, it feels extremely solid.
^ That described my fears with it pretty well.
On amazon you can find a standlone lat pulldown / row machine plate loaded for around 250.
The T3 looks around 430.
You can find 300 lbs of weights with a beater bar at Dicks for 200.
A cheap curl bar you can get for 30 bucks on amazon.
Landmine attachement for the rack $30
Incline / decline bench
The bench you were getting for 410:
https://www.amazon.com/BodySolid-GFID71-Heavy-Duty-Bench/dp/B000EB7O2M/ref=sr_1_14?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1504630563&sr=1-14&keywords=Body-Solid+bench
However you can find a decent one for 310
https://www.amazon.com/XMark-Incline-Decline-Weight-XM-7604/dp/B0080QZKHE/ref=sr_1_13?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1504630426&sr=1-13&keywords=incline+decline+bench
This puts you at 1250 / 1350 depending on your bench
you are missing 100lbs of weights and lets assume the cheaper bench, so add 100 for the weights at $100,
1350
Add in a better bar:
Rogue B&R for 300 (less aggressive knurl than the ohio power, but still has a center knurl) Do some research on a bunch of bars if you do go this route.
1650
From here maybe go with some adjustable dumbbells.
These are singles, so a pair for $70
https://www.amazon.com/Barbell-Solid-20-Inch-Dumbbell-Handle/dp/B0010YOBB4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504631135&sr=8-1&keywords=olympic+adjustable+dumbbells
You will want decent clips, rogue is suggesting to use these with their dumbbells, so https://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-oso-barbell-collars 50 there.
I think we are at 1770.
From here I would get more 10 and 5 lb plates, since you have the dumbbells you will want more than one pair and that is what the 300lb set gives you. so 3 more pairs of 10s and another pair 5s. That should be around 70lbs, worst case scenario $100.
That puts you at 1870. I probably missed some small stuff (handles and such for the lat pulldown / landmine) that would close the gap to 2k, but if not maybe add the dip bar to your rack (if you like dips)
https://www.titan.fitness/cages-and-racks/t-3-racks/t-3-rack-attachments/titan-t-3-y-dip-bar.html
that would put you at 1940. You are still missing a preacher curl station, but I personally don't feel that is necessary.
Edit missing handles:
https://www.amazon.com/Special-Sales-Yes4All-Tricep-Attachments/dp/B013JL05O2/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504632159&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=lat+pull+down+close+grip+handle
https://www.amazon.com/Yes4All-Combo-Package-Straight-Rotating/dp/B00HHED20C/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1504632233&sr=8-5&keywords=lat+pull+down+handle
I would use the first one for the landmine handles aswell. I personally like that grip a lot more than the landmine specific ones.
Those two combined are $55
Now at 1,992 not including tax. However I don't think your quote included tax either so I think its comparable.
Realizing how far the 2k went, (assuming my math is somewhat decent) This is the route I would go and would suggest. Even if the pull down system in that cage works flawlessly I still think this is a better setup since your getting dumbbells, a better bar, a better rack, I think more weight (although very cheap)
Edit: The only thing I would consider changing is switching out the 300lb iron set for cheap bumpers at $1 / lb. maybe 3 pairs of 45s as bumpers. (270lbs). Then still get the 25s, 4 sets of 10s and 2 sets of 5s, and 2 sets of 2.5s as iron. Rogue Echo looks to be $1.3 / lb. This would bump your weight cost up to 500ish. We were at 300 on weights, so 200 over. If you drop the dip bar, closer to 100 over. This would make your deadlifts quieter and easier on the floor. The only drawback is the width of the plates. You aren't going to be able to put more than, 5ish on the bar. So probably 495lb.
Edit: For the dumbbell handles you need 2 sets of collars, not just 1 like I listed
Looks like the same cheap ones I bought off amazon from some random seller. No real issues other than the knurling from my Texas power bar slowly grinding away the finish to get to the bare metal which is turning rusty.
Edit: just a little different for the support underneath. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071YP4VPN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Not a freaking tank, not yet anyway, however the cheapest bar/bumper plates I have found hover around $900 anyway, and that set gave me the most weight for the buck.
I kept looking around, this set from Amazon plus this bar will "only" set me back around $650 for 305 lbs of weight (260 lbs worth of bumper plates plus the bar)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01D487TDA/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got the 200 lb set and don't have any complaints. Good bang for your buck.
I was thinking about getting this Yes4All 200 lb dumbbell set. For the price, it seems like I can't pass it up. Does anyone have any experience with them? If so, do they screw-lock as well any any other brand?
What are your guys thoughts on something like this?
XMark Commercial FID Flat Incline Decline Weight Bench XM-7604 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0080QZKHE/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_tqedvb0X7NEYE
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0080QZKHE/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_tqedvb0X7NEYE
Anyone used it or something similar? Are these guys reputable for having quality stuff?
I wish I had an open-topped rack, so I'd prefer the second one, but that's way more steel than my 375 squat requires.
If I had it to do over again I'd get this one: https://www.amazon.com/Station-Safety-professioanlly-Knurled-Chinning/dp/B00VKGLWUU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1495036817&sr=8-1&keywords=tds+open+rack
I have their equivalent full cage, and it's solid.
Remember that F=ma so the higher you'll be dropping it, the heavier it lands. I recommend the TDS Short Power Rack or Titan T-2 Series Short Power Rack. You'll have to sit down for OHP and pull your legs behind for pull-ups though.
I found one that should fit your ceiling height...
www.amazon.com/TDS-C-92560-B-POWER-RACK-HIGH/dp/B008FPVTL6
If there's one, there's probably more.
Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a spin bike. I'm about 240 lbs and 6 feet tall. I saw a couple on Amazon but I'm having trouble choosing. Is there anyone here that would be knowledgeable that can help me find something in the 200 - 300 dollar range? I found these models:

Go for the one with the heaviest fly wheel you can afford. I bought the 49lb fly wheel one ([this] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00467H5YW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) one) at the beginning of the year and it was a solid bike. Developed a knock noise, which is apparently a known issue, and an easy fix.. but we ended up just upgrading to a Peloton.
> there's no way that can be right.
I'd work from the assumption that it's right.
This flat bench is rated to 600 pounds and has been tested to 1000, and costs less;
This adjustable bench is currently available at Costco for $89 and is rated to 500 pounds.
And like u/nelsonskjold sez, used market is always worth checking out.
I'm curious about this too. What exactly is a rogue bar going to do that say this bar wouldn't ::
Body Solid Oly Power Bar 7 ft Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005PGBFQW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_xE6XAbB7EAFKM
I've been looking at dumbbells for my homegym as well and think I'll get these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D487TDA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=39DH6Q2Q61FAK&coliid=I3BIFQOHX6BGAG&psc=1
Unless you think you're going to be hitting 315+ soon, I wouldn't even spend $250 on a bar.
This one has served me fine up to 275:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005PGBFQW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Daaayum. I had these before the stall mats and I thought they were good. My husband just didn't like the interlocking thing.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K2TWXD6/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_FwJXAbJCK8X4P
On impulse I bought a pair of spin-lock dumbbell handles and some 5 pound plates thinking that I could expand this by buying 10 lb dumbbell plates as needed.
However, I can't seem to find the kind of 10 pound standard plates that I see included with most dumbbell sets. Everything I see are large grip plates and expensive. Should I have just bought a set like THIS instead?
I knew it would end up being more per lb if I bought it piece by piece but I didn't think it would be 2x-3x as much.
Is there a decent place I can get 10lb standard plates for around $1 a pound?
https://www.amazon.com/Redmon-Fitness-Exercise-Equipment-Kids/dp/B001404UMO
This one cracks me up:
https://www.amazon.com/Redmon-Fitness-Exercise-Equipment-Kids/dp/B001404UMO/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1487268571&sr=8-1&keywords=kids%2Bweight%2Bbench&th=1
I bought http://www.amazon.com/Marcy-SB670-Deluxe-Utility-Bench/dp/B002OHQALU?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 two years ago and haven't had any issues. I haven't gotten above 225 benching on it at 200 lb body weight, but I haven't felt any movement while benching on it.
Here's another option:
https://smile.amazon.com/XMark-Incline-Decline-Weight-XM-7604/dp/B0080QZKHE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1481231075&sr=8-4&keywords=x+mark+adjustable+bench

This is what I put down. It's just the base really, There's the platform as you can see and a treadmill is going in, it will be on horse mats. They some mats are going down on the right for a stretching area.
Any thoughts on this one?
TDS makes full cage for the same price if that’s something you’d be into. Mines caught 500lbs+ more than a few times.

These ones by Yes4All and these by Titan are both padded 2x2. Can't speak to the quality of either. I also have a B&R that has scraped up bits of my rack, so I know what you mean.
[This] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0044R8Y5I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_f2uCwbD48E84V) is the heater I bought. Fair warning though, I have not yet turned it on so I can't speak to its effectiveness. We had a heat wave and I haven't needed it.
I've been kicking ass on this power rack for some time now. It is really good quality for the money.
The bar is shit. You can get a much better bar on Amazon for the same price.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000RNSDKE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504869421&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=ob-86pb&dpPl=1&dpID=31oAwmnaLfL&ref=plSrch

If I'm dropping the bar either because of fatigue as you said or as an emergency drop as /u/n00bosaurus_Rex said I'm wondering if my floor will be okay. I imagine bumpers are "safer" for that as well but I have laminate floors that I intend to put this over.

I actually bought the pulley system. It's a Valor PY-1. It has bad reviews on Amazon but so far it's been legit.

I have this and it’s fine for LISS. It did develop some creaking after about 6 months but tightening up the screws and some lube fixed it right up.
Thinking about getting this bench by Rep Fitness, but found this one buy Fitness Reality which seem significantly cheaper. Which one do you recomend? Also, how are the width on both? Is it wide enough to not make me feel uncomfortable?
Liquid propane forced air heaters should work in this application. Check to see if they're rated for indoor use (some are, some aren't).
I installed 3/4” foam panels from Lowe’s. They come in 4’x8’ sheets and cut easily with a razor blade. I don’t remember the exact cost but was half the price of the “garage insulation kit” Lowe’s sold. It was my first winter so I can’t say exactly how much of a difference it made, but I hate the cold so any little bit was worth it to me! I also have this propane forces air heater that I run about 5-10min as I drink my preworkout to take the bite out of the air!
