Do you want to let light in?

Then this

Do you want MAXIMUM INSULATION(without actually rebuilding the house)?

Get a few blocks of this stuff and use it to cover your windows.

But really, what you want to do is make sure that your windows are all well caulked, that your doors fit well and things like that.

Cutting down on the air coming into your room around the windows will do a lot for helping keep you nice and toasty this winter.

Get a small screw and screw it part way into the jack, use a pair of pliers to pull on the screw. Second best bet would be the super glue method but that risks gluing the jack right in there.

If you have a dremel you may have a mandrel that looks like this which may work perfectly. Just carefully screw that screw into the broken jack but don’t over tighten, the mandrel is long enough to allow you to pull it out.

Seconded on Elements of Style. Also, try reading authors who are known for straightforward and concise prose. It's only coming to mind because I was a political science major, but John Mearsheimer is great for this- his chapters precisely follow the "tell you what I'm going to say; say it; summarize what I just said" mantra.

Word Power Made Easy. It was the text that we used for vocabulary during my Sophomore year and I've since used it while teaching classess of my own. It's a fantastic resource that teaches you vocabulary by giving you a solid base in the root words that make up our language.

It's more of a danger when you're doing a larger volume of cuts. BUT, you know it's your risk to take. Stone disks come in varying quality. I'd spend the extra $5-10 on something like this vs risking flying shrapnel.

I'm an industrial welder and have seen plenty of cutting disks fail after a few seconds of use or just getting slightly off angle, and face shields have definitely saved some skin. So, personally, I don't mess around when it comes to power tools and safety. Plus, you'll be all set for any future aluminum that you want to do. Win/win for an extra $8

/r/slowcooking?

here are some of the top voted recipes

Keep in mind that reddit works pretty much the same way as pinterest, and a poor recipe that either looks good in pictures or is presented well will receive more votes than a quality recipe with crappy pics and write up.

Or buy this book! Remember cookbooks?

This may not be quite what you have in mind, but I have made two of these boats and they are cool. They take more than six hours though.

I would buy 2 of these. Have one ready to serve, and the other one as a reserve. When the first is empty, start brewing right away. (add water, tea bags) and let it soak. If you are worried about people going through 5 gallons faster than you can keep up, add another cooler, or use a 5 gallon CLEAN (brand new) bucket.

How to Draw What You See is arguably a better book than the other popular book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain... Especially since all that "right brain/left brain" stuff is mostly nonsense.

Meat-Cutter Here

Buy a multi-stone example A whet stone is used to create the edge of a knife. However a multi-stone has 3 different textures going from very fine to coarse. This will allow you to properly sharpen any knife.

The second tool we use is a Steel Sharpener. Example You use this in between cuts in order to quickly re-shape the blade. Everytime you use your knife, properly or inproperly, you bend the sharp edge of your knife ever so slighty, and within minutes if your not careful, you may ruin your edge completely and have to resharpen. The edge of a knife is like a piece of foil, and what the steel does is to quickly bend it back to its shape.

Learning this trade takes practice, and lots of it. Edges are completely committed to muscle memory over time, but to start out sharpening you need to first look at the angle of you knife's edge. This angle is what you will be sharpening at. Same goes with steel.

Anyways I thought I would give you a run down on equipment. If your looking for technique go ahead and watch a few videos on youtube.

I had an original Leatherman. I replaced it with a Gerber multitool that had slide out pliers. The Gerber never felt too solid so a couple years ago I replaced it with a SOG S60 Powerlock. Ignore the price they have listed on their site. Amazon sells it for much less. Even Lowe's sells it for $65.

The thing I like most about the SOG is the compound leverage you get from the gears. Not only do you have more force when squeezing the handles, but you can insert the nose of the pliers and pull the handles apart to pry.

As several have pointed out here, Groucho's famous mustache was greasepaint. His eyeglasses were window-glass. Why? Because he looked almost identical to his brother Zeppo, and each of the brothers needed to look distinct on stage. He also took up the cigar as a prop to have something to do with his hands. After his movie years, when he hosted "You Bet Your Life" he indeed had a mustache, wore spectacles, and smoked two or three cigars a day. Life imitates art. Source.

What's your opinion on this? I got one based on the good reviews but I'm not that impressed. Seems to make the knives go dull very quickly. Will this system keep them sharper longer?
